You should focus on completing your assignment above all else. Is 'profiting' a requirement of this project? Just buy a $5 USB miner and prove to the teacher/class that you know how to do it...worry about actual profits another time, because that'll cost you a lot of money up front, with very slow returns.
Yeah if it is profiting, I would get a scrap hard drive that you pay zero for and set it up for burst mining, no upfront cost and set it to mine burst. You will profit but just slightly, it sounds like power isn't taken into consideration much on this.

$100 won't get you very far I'm afraid.
You could try to buy a second hand antminer on this forum, but as a fellow European, I can pretty much guarantee they won't make any profit (we pay to much for our electricity).
Basically, if you spend $100 on mining gear, it might take you more than a year before you mined $100 worth of btc, and if you subtract the power cost you'll make negative profit.
I guess your best shot would be to buy a second hand GPU (read up on which GPUs to buy in the altcoin mining subforum).

I would like my mining profitable (the note will be better since our teachers already laughs) I would have the objective of achieving a small profit (I crazy of 300$ per month I am aware that this period is gone) even if its 5 $ would be a victory!
