All of my friends who have invested in bitcoin can attest to the fact that it is an exploration of one's self. Many of these gentlemen from many disciplines have come to understand who they are by their commitment to their relationship with money, their level of risk tolerance, and their capacity to maintain discipline in the face of uncertainty. In the face of the market and their personal life, they have evolved into a sort of stoic mentality. And those who backed off during the bull run did so for the same reasons—self-discovery. They assessed their possibilities of success in this high-risk environment and decided it wasn't for them, so they stayed with real estate investments, which are generally low risk.
Bitcoin and cryptocurrency investments aren't for everyone and not everyone can maintain their assets and investments, so it is better for anyone to first evaluate the situation, study the industry, and then check their own capabilities to see if they think they can manage everything successfully if they think they can, they should go ahead with it, but if they think they can't do it and it is not for them, they should simply choose something else.

Your friends probably thought Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies are not for them and they chose another stream to invest their money which might be seen as a bad decision by many because people believe in Bitcoin but it's obviously the best decision for them since it might save them from big losses that they could incur for themselves.

Well these days the world is tricky.

The same gamers would be making ton of money by streaming their live game plays, their digital world quests and what not. So I’m not sure if above allegations apply to these gamers or not so we need a Corner for these guys.

But on a serious note, yes it’s horribly wrong to see new generation playing and spending hours and hours even days on gaming. The industry is already a billion dollar and creating highly immersive techniques. That is what pulling all the teenagers into this field including the adults too.

This ain’t real future. This is alternate “virtual reality” which can’t pay bills for very long.

To become a gamer who shares videos on Youtube, you also need to have expertise, capital is also needed and maybe your income will be largely determined by how you get other people interested in your skills. It's not always as easy as you think, but the risks discussed will definitely be very different from investing.

I don't think you have to spend 6-12 hours a day to make money if you have a big budget. Investment is the best choice, especially in assets that have been proven to be able to give you returns both in the short and long term.

A successful YouTube channel is not as easy as it sounds, and the title of this topic implies that you can only achieve financial success if you are doing something that brings you pleasure. No wonder they say that your hobby can be your true calling. But big capital is a completely different story, because big money can give you completely different opportunities, for example, you can buy real estate and rent it out, this is the easiest and most reliable option with big money.

Finding our true self don't need to be success in finance, we are already know about our true self, but we just don't want to do it because there's will be a problem that we can't solve. But if we're already rich, we can solve those problem with money and we don't need to worry anymore.

Every human is greedy, an employee do corruption to earn more salary, a boss want to make a lot money and only want to pay less. Maybe you will say not all employee and boss are dirty, but the reason why there's an employee don't want to corrupt is he want to get a promotion and a boss who willing to pay high salary is he scared the employee will backstab him and ruin his company.

For now, being a professional gamer is an easy way to earn money. Although, the chance was so small.

But back again, what they like or not depends on their interests. Of course this logic will say that learning in the field of investment will be better than just playing video games. But if your investment fails, then maybe playing video games will be better than spending money on an investment.

Everything does have a risk. But learning investing has better possibilities than just playing video games. Time is running out, sitting back and playing games for 12 hours is certainly not a good way, don't let us realize when a lot of time has passed and we are old

Self-awareness and self-discovery are indeed crucial for understanding oneself and finding a suitable financial strategy. It's true that each person has their own unique experiences, motivations, and goals when it comes to finance and investing. What works for one individual may not necessarily work for another.
It is true that what works for others may not necessarily work for us, but that is not always the case in life. Because sometimes what has been tried by other people which in the end becomes successful we can also take as an example in order to get success too, although not in the same place. Because for those who still want to work consciously and not outside of reason, they can definitely succeed as long as they do it in the right way and don't make mistakes in their work.
Indeed, the place and way for other people to become successful is not necessarily the right place for us to achieve the same success. But we can learn how their efforts in building something so that it becomes successful in the end, we can apply that in our journey. I think the first step is the most difficult step, sometimes we still think about the worst thing that might happen so that pushes us to never do that. Even though we never know what will happen, how can we possibly know what will happen if we never try? starting something must be with strong determination, we must have careful planning, and we must be prepared for the worst possibility.

You are on point OP, if one desires success one must be 101% focus on the path of becoming success to actually become successful, there will be no time to do things that doesn't matter, things that wont give you money and yet some spend countless of hours playing video games, if the same hard work is been put into how to make money they will find a solution to financial problems they have.

Video games are healthy only if you spend a hour or two playing, it's same thing as eating food, if you eat too much of food you will start purging isn't it? My advice is we must not forget to live, it's better to work smart than to work so hard to earn money that's not worth your grinding.

It's good to stay focused on your goals and avoid wasting time on things that won't yield any money but it's also better to do less of everything, confused? Too much of grinding is why many men's lives are cut short.

Often people feel that it is easier to play games than to work so they are willing to invest 12 hours or even more in playing games instead of investing 6-8 hours to work or in other things that can help them to get the benefits. They will feel that working is tiring and playing games is not tiring, making them even more excited when they reach a certain level.

But for people who want to achieve something or want to get better results, they are willing to spend more time. They think that spending more time learning or practicing their skills can help them improve themselves to achieve their goals. And that's the difference between someone who finds a way to motivate himself.

Sometimes it's easy to motivate others but hard to motivate yourself. And if you really want that success, you will be willing to put in a lot of work, including putting more time into studying.

Well said. I can understand and relate to people who are temporarily money-focussed as they're aiming to achieve financial independence and be able to retire early, so they have time to focus on more meaningful things, but dedicating your life to earn money just for the sake of it is just silly. It's a cliché but the best things in life cannot be bought. i.e. if you neglect your children because you were focused on a career, you will never develop a proper bond, and no money in the world could buy back the wasted time.

You've brought up an important perspective regarding the pursuit of financial independence and the balance between money and other aspects of life. While financial goals and stability are important, it's crucial to recognize that true happiness and fulfillment often come from a well-rounded life that encompasses various aspects, including relationships, personal growth, and experiences.

The approach really differs from each person's perspective if it's about investing and finances. But I do get the point that those successful people aren't really the greatest shape of themselves. What they're all telling is that they love what they're doing, the passion is there and no matter what the results will be, they're prepared for it and they just love working and grinding with what they're doing. There's no need for any motivation on them because they believe what they do and that's the best form that they can be. It's the same as us, we believe in Bitcoin and despite people telling the same discouraging words again and again, we're here to stay and the same goes for Bitcoin.

But rather its about learning more about yourself and learning to have the same fun and enjoyment with finance and investment. That you have with video games. That way it becomes easy to invest 12 hours a day everyday learning to grind and level up in a way which is profitable.

That is an interesting idea, but I think that sitting 12h a day investing or grinding a video game is not a healthy situation. Any person above 30 is going to struggle with such a lifestyle for a longer period of time. In high school or university we have a lot of spare time, that's why so many teenagers and young adults spend countless hours in video games. But the human body is not made to sit in a chair for 12 hours, or stare at a screen for so long. When it comes to making money we need to find something that we can do for a long period of time and with a good reward/salary. Most jobs only are 8 hours a day. And if we want to trade for a living, so we really need 12 hours a day? It's hard to keep concentration up for so long. Maybe 6 hours well spent are enough for a decent profit and the other 6 hours only give a small additional bonus.

Let us agree that this is relative and differs from one person to another, and that it is not possible to come up with firm rulings.
Success in finance and investments is about discovering your true self and relate your investments with the person's long term goals. This requires self-awareness, discipline, and a willingness to learn, advance and adapt. The journey to success in finance is ongoing, and it involves staying ahead of market trends and exploring new ideas and strategies.
Ultimately, success in finance and investments is about finding your unique path and staying true to your values while achieving your financial objectives, as it is not just about accumulating wealth.
Of course there are many things that need attention and it takes a good adjustment to start with.
All investors expect returns that are worth with the effort and risk they consider, but without knowledge, the returns are really just too far from expectations. Investing is the best way to make your money work for you, so success starts with your awareness of how to manage it well and how to build your portfolio with minimized risk.

To find identity from a financial perspective is to be financially successful regardless of what kind of business or investment we have. Not only in property, digital assets or precious metals, but anything that can provide a worth it return then I think it's worth considering.
I mean, we almost agree on the same ideas that you refer to.  Achieving individual financial stability is not just a matter of endless fundraising.  Stability depends in large part on the psychological stability of the person who is looking for it. The concept also may not be limited to individual outcomes if the person lives within a family for which he is responsible; Simply because it will be about the financial stability of each one of them. Investing in such cases is more difficult to proceed with if the person has obligations that burden him, but it may represent the best solution in what is like an adventure to reach a good percentage of psychological stability.

Absolutely true.  The reward that comes with offering a value pays greatest. Human value in form of intelligence on any subject that others find hard to understand or need help getting around, makes one always have a source of finance either as gifts or contracts or any form worth that is deemed valuable.
Discovering oneself is having known what is good or not good to the body, health, spirit and soul. Having mastered oneself, opportunities and alignment will happen.
We can earn through our intelligence if we use it properly like offering a mentoring program. It's where we teach others in exchange for some cash. We can also use our own knowledge directly in earning opportunities like Trading, Investing or even by Playing a Gambling but only the skill-based ones like Poker and Sports betting.

I already saw a player who got successful on them. I believe that nothing is hard for someone who is willing to learn a certain thing. It's normal that some are slow on grasping things. Discovering or finding ones self happens to each of us. Some are lucky to start great and this continues till the end while some are unfortunate to start bad but this can change later own.

I believe that realizing what kind of investor you are is the most important thing when investing. Too many people are looking into investment as "one true way to make money" and that's not how it works. This is also why you can't be doing what others are doing and expect a lot of money, it just can't happen and will not happen.

You have to realize that you are doing something that is profitable only if you do it the way you feel alright about. In order to do that you need to test out many methods and surely some of them will be what others tell you to, but just try out as many as possible until you find one you love, and while you keep doing what you love, try out more stuff as well just in case you may end up finding something you love even more.

Being successful in life as a whole depends on our individual capacities to consider how we can be successful in whatever we do, where we go, and what we see. When we are successful in our financial lives, it is a reflection of our tenacity in life. Our investments wouldn't be successful ones if we hadn't made a self discovery of ourselves, which will help towards having a successful financial investment.

The important thing is that if we really want to be successful, we will continue to learn and try whatever we do more seriously. And don't complain if success hasn't come because it's only a matter of time so if we deserve it, those moments will come at the right time. When success comes, it will pay off the hard work we have done and we will surely smile and even cry with joy because we have achieved it. And remember, achieving success requires time, effort, hard work, and everything, so we have to enjoy the process of that success.

Well I was confused at some points if I was left out of the entire circle because I don't play games and I don't even let people see me spending time on digital world.

I also agree with you at some point when you said that people see other people who invest their times on exchanges and financial  markets as wasting their time while see people who spend more time playing game as the opposite because this is a typical  scenario  in my country where everyone who spends  time online is regarded as an internet fraudster but see the once who rather play games as responsible 🙄
I almost felt you were from my country but I don't think you are but nevertheless one of the reasons these things happen is because of the negative  news  and rumors been spread about cryptocurrency  which has already made alot  of people develop hatred for the digital asset and one way to help comb is act is simply through proper sensitization of the community.
Why is no one talking about those who find success in gaming too? Those who love playing games can even get success in gaming if they take it as a career for themselves. There are countless people all over the world who earn money for playing games, they participate in tournaments, they do live streams, they do endorsements and partnerships, and there is a lot to do in the gaming industry as well for a gamer.

So it's obviously true that finding financial success is basically finding your true self in whatever you do, if your interest is more towards trading and financial assets, you will get success in that, and if you love playing video games, you can even find success in that, it all depends on your dedication and hard work which eventually pays off.

I believe it boils down to passion, interest, and pleasure.  Gamers tend to grind more than the hours you stated because they are pleased with what they are doing.  They touch the game because they are interested, started creating character for long hour because they are passionate to create a character that reflects their thought, and tend to grind many hours every day because they find pleasure in seeing their character gain level and strength in-game, not saying the aim to get rare to a legendary item while grinding.

Self-awareness and self-discovery help you develop a deeper understanding of yourself and your motivations. In this financial field, each person has their own strategy and experience, so it is really difficult for them to perceive and build a suitable strategy for themselves. Although it is not easy, they still have to do it to really be on the road to success. So finding success in finance and investing is never easy. There are limits to activities that do not directly contribute to personal growth or provide tangible benefits. But it still gives us ourselves in terms of relaxation, entertainment, and personal enjoyment. Different people have different passions and interests. Some people play games for fun, but there are people who consider it a job to make money. So the way we use it for such purposes is consistent with the choice we make when we use it. It is important that you feel satisfied with your purpose, but do not overdo it because playing games is not good for your health anyway.

Yes, the journey to self discovery would often lead one to attain success in finance and investment, because, it is an accumulation of goals that has been fulfilled, and plans that have been executed. This can only be effective once one is able to isolate him/herself, carefully map out how to devote a great number of hours in a day just to realize an idea that would require self-discipline in consistent doze to ensure financial, mental, and personal growth.

Truth be told, if you're a successful businessman it will affect your mentality and how you think, reason and address economical situations, if you're a successful man in whatever you do as an entrepreneur, it will show in ever areas of your life  definitely, this is one of the things that gives you more confidence in what you're doing, how to advance in it and what is needed to succeed through the process, your idea will be outstanding while other's are struggling to thrive through because you've got the confidence enough through the means which you have developed yourself from.

Cause it's 2023 so eSports is becoming a career too and personally witnessed many youngsters earning huge money via sponsorship and making ad revenue from streaming on platforms like YouTube, Twitch and lot others.

IMO, spending too much time on video games or investing can also affect the physical and mental health of players. Therefore, it is necessary to balance time and investment appropriately to achieve success and happiness in life. However, it should be noted that investing and trading in electronic assets, stocks or real estate is risky and requires knowledge and experience to make sound investment decisions and achieve returns high. Investing should not be purely based on emotions and luck, but should stick to investment strategies and risk management.

It is not wrong to spend a lot of time on video games or investing, however, to achieve success and happiness in life, it is necessary to work hard, have knowledge and experience, balance time appropriate time and investment.

I think that the reason for this is culture. I find many parents are lazy to raise their children. They spend little time with them, leaving the child either in the nursery or in front of a screen playing or watching videos. Many platforms such as YouTube are very interested in children's games and videos. Children find powerful visual stimuli, all of this will become addictive at some point, then spending the day trying to imitate a video, or completing a level in a game or even collecting some imaginary points will stimulate the incentive points inside their brains and thus more enjoyment for them.

It's generally not a bad advice but something is not right still, I am a PC and Console gamer, I spend time playing call of duty a FPS game almost every day, I have friends online in different part of the world but let me get one thing straight,  I don't joke with my future goal, my daily routine is staying up to date in crypto and investment, and at the same time, enjoying and having some fun playing games online.

We are build and disciplined differently, there was a time where things are going out of place for me and I stopped gaming for a whole year, my gaming PC gathered dust and I don't even give attention, I focused so much on making something work out for me, trading courses and more.. In the end it works, but it has another impact on me, I stopped smiling, the people around me noticed this, they said I have changed, a old woman living in same compound told me that whatever I was doing I need to take a break.

Imagine that kind of thing, I lost the sight of my surrounding, so brothers and sisters, too much of everything is bad, a mixture of hard work and fun is better and one won't affect the other, it's a good way of living, also no one knows when you die, you can sleep and fail to wake up the next day.

Work hard and Play hard.

Everyone certainly aims to be financially successful, a lot of effort is made starting from actively working to trying to get passive income for example investing, but sometimes to be successful it takes a long process so that many successful people need up to decades, of course this is a good thing because it can pass on wealth to children and grandchildren.
Sometimes many people just want instant success and don't want the process,
investing is indeed an option that we can choose to make a profit,
what is clear is that we cannot achieve success without a process that is absolutely impossible.
Not sometimes but I think that happens most of the times. See the number of those people who fail? And then the number of scammers have also grown a lot because they know that there a lot of preys out there. For a person who came from a rich clan then investing for them is not an option but it was part of their life.

Investment doesn't only be to buy and HodL a crypto but it can also mean they invest on a business or something. Success on the other hand can be define in different terms. There is short and then there is long. It was the long term success are the ones who are hard but no it's not impossible. This is more beneficial so we should also aim for this.

It's because people want to avoid going through the process, so they hope to find a way to help them achieve instant success. But they are wrong because nothing is instant in this world, and they must take time to go through every process. Achieving financial success is not easy because we have to use or find the right way to achieve that success. Perhaps, investment can be the solution, but choosing the right investment is also difficult and takes time. So if you are unwilling to go through the process, achieving success is a dream.

Grinding is different from grinding mate, some 2hours grinding per day brings insane changes to one's life where as some 16 hours grinding per day brings less fortune, I don't joke with my hustle but that doesn't mean I shouldn't live, playing video games help the brain a ton, I have noticed that playing video games brings so much relaxation to my life but I only spent 3 hours play games almost every day.   while you are hustling every day do not forget that death could come knocking at any time, so live.

Most have no trouble grinding 12 hours a day on MMORPGs. Spending countless hours customizing their character, leveling up and exploring digital worlds. There are gamers who spend 16 hours a day, working hard, chasing their gaming goals. While they may not think of it as work. Can it be said that tendencies people have to spend inordinate and excessive amounts of time and energy on video games, defines their true self and true work ethic.

The real you is the person who can spend countless hours everyday obsessively leveling and grinding in games.

There is no need to develop a work ethic or drive. We can see by the way people obsessively play games and indulge in other activities that we already have that.

What is it about people that allows them to invest 12 hours a day obsessively chasing goals in games, that have no affect on their futures. Feeling it is a great use of their time. While feeling that spending 12 hours a day on a crypto exchange looking for good investments. Or investing time and energy reading and learning, doing things which might allow a person to be wealthier and more successful, is not a good use of time?

Could it be fair to say that the only difference between successful crypto whales and unsuccessful ones is crypto whales have learned to treat investment and finance like a video game. Where its fun and worthwhile to explore and learn about the digital world of numbers, math and statistics which comprise market based investment and trading?

In which case, could it be fair to say that being successful financially isn't so much about trying to be a different person from who you are.

But rather its about learning more about yourself and learning to have the same fun and enjoyment with finance and investment. That you have with video games. That way it becomes easy to invest 12 hours a day everyday learning to grind and level up in a way which is profitable.

This is a very interesting idea!

Indeed, a successful person often treats his work as a very interesting game.  Sometimes he plays online, sometimes offline, sometimes he upgrades his character.  This also applies to investments.

You can imagine yourself as a powerful Lord (Duke), who is expanding his possessions and strives to earn as much money as possible in order to reach a new gaming level.  This Lord can create different accounts on different platforms.

An account is essentially a virtual identity.  Such virtual personalities can act as assistants to our fantasy Lord.  These advisers, merchants, warriors help him interact with the virtual world, earn digital gold, conquer new territories, increase his authority among other Lords (Barons, Earls, Dukes and Kings).

Creating such virtual subpersonalities will turn investments into an interesting game!

In other words, there are limits to things that are not directly beneficial to self growth. Playing games is not a problem when it is done rationally. This particularly is the reason why metaverse is important and will be successful when done right.
Instead if wasting long hours on games that won't yield any returns, with metaverse gaming in place, playing games for 12 to 16 hrs will not feel like a waste of time when you will be able to generate income doing what you loves doing.

Different strokes for different folks, some are passionate about trading and doing deep research to learn more to that effect, others are passionate about playing video games.

Yes, I do think that gamers and investors have a lot in common in their mindsets and strategies when it comes to both video games and financial markets. Both need undivided attention, perseverance, and a flexible mind. While video games are meant only for entertainment, financial decisions have real-world consequences, which should be kept in mind. One must proceed cautiously and investigate all available options before making any investing selections.

Yet, I believe that the attitude of a winning player can be transferred to the financial markets. In a video game, for instance, it helps to have a plan, some strategy, and some patience. Indeed, the same holds true for financial investments. You need to decide what you want financially, make a strategy to get there and have patience as you wait for your investments to develop.

Investments may be just as addictive as video games, which is something to keep in mind. Like with video games, the thrill of generating a significant investment return may be addicting, but it's crucial to take breaks and make sure you aren't losing perspective.

In sum, I believe it is reasonable to assert that the winning attitude of a gamer may be successfully transferred to the financial markets. Nonetheless, investors should use prudence since their decisions might have real-world effects. Like with video games, it's crucial to strike a healthy balance and avoid being too invested.

A game has replayability. There is a save game and checkpoint. That is what distinguishes it from real life, there is no point of return.

Those who forgot the time when playing a game or hustling a work are in a state of "flow." The state where each things that is being done are consistently compounded, and as in result, one keeps its focus. The difference is game is surely designed to attract the player to spend many times within the game, whereas, in real life, people should not be forced to learn how to get the fun and excitement within the finance and investment scene. It connotates the deed is involuntary. People should have or understand the root causes where they find a sector of work that truly suits them.

I like to spend hours just doing what I love, and that's a fact. Interests besides being involved in the world of finance are not just a way to achieve success but rather a need above other needs. People who play games for almost 12 hours don't always enjoy the game, sometimes they get stressed because the results are not satisfying. But do they stop? Of course not, they will repeat it and try not to make the same mistake. Likewise in achieving relative success the level of success is different and the process of achieving it mostly takes a long time.

Unfortunately you didn't mention what kind of gamer you mean, some gamers now have paths that can be considered as work, like spending several hours in front of a PC just to level up and sell characters or make videos to post on Youtube, they take advantage of this content to earn money, although there is another process before making money on YouTube. But not all gamers can take advantage of this, because there are those who waste time in front of the PC just to play games and get nothing.

Real-world work ethic is no longer a bone of contention for the tech-savvy Generation Z, as revenue from games, YouTube, and other social media platforms has proven capable of transporting them to a change in social status, they enjoy it as a productive job and spend long hours at front of PC. I've come across many cases of successful gamers by now, but the question is can this be considered a long term job?

In some games it is easier to be successful than in real life. Therefore, people prefer to seek their fortune there than to face the harsh reality. Especially in a MMORPG can be successful without having to make an effort. You "only" have to invest a lot of time and you can "maybe" be successful. This can also work in real life, but is more strenuous in most cases. Either way, people have also earned real money through an MMORPG and maybe it will be possible to make a living from it in the future. However, being successful in an MMORPG is easier than in the crypto world. So I think a lot of people prefer an MMOPGR.  Wink

I'm not a gamer, so I don't really understand the whole thing about wasting too much time on them. If it's as bad as the op says, 12+ hours a day, I'd simply call it an addiction. If it's a more reasonable number but a person's really into it, I'd add that games are skill-based and usually grant you regular small senses of accomplishment, which is what people are looking for. The games are often divided into missions, and even aside from accomplishing those you can see some flashing lights or get points in the process for killing someone, for instance. In reality, you rarely get this sort of frequent token of appreciation. You can do something good once in a while, you get a salary once a month, and maybe you hear compliments sometimes. You can get a sense of a small success way more times over a few hours of playing than over a month of living. At least, that's what I feel is the underlying mechanism. Researching investments is different, as you can spend tons of hours without seeing the results of your work, seeing that you've achieved something. Trading itself can be engaging for some if you focus on the small gains and losses you regularly get, but it's still less structured and there's no guarantee that you'll win if you try hard enough.

Working as a Web Developer and Cyber specialist.
It is true that some people are able to invest a significant amount of time and energy into activities such as video games and find it enjoyable, while others may not find the same level of enjoyment in activities such as financial investment and trading. However, it is important to note that different people have different interests and passions, and what may be enjoyable and motivating for one person may not be the same for another.

It is also worth noting that the skills and habits that are developed through activities such as gaming can be transferable to other areas of life, such as financial investment and trading. For example, the ability to focus and stay motivated for long periods of time, to set and achieve goals, and to analyze and make decisions based on data, are all skills that can be applied to financial investment and trading.

That being said, it's not fair to say that only the successful crypto whales have learned to treat investment and finance like a video game, as it's not only about the way you perceive it but also about the knowledge, strategies, and experience you have. Moreover, it's not a matter of turning investment and finance into something fun and enjoyable, but rather it's about developing the interest and passion for it, which takes time and effort.

In conclusion, being successful financially isn't only about trying to be a different person from who you are, but it's also about understanding yourself, your strengths, and weaknesses and learning to develop the necessary skills, knowledge and interest to achieve your financial goals.

In my opinion, it depends on what the person has been trained to be like, and at a certain stage in life, it's hard to change. It's like an addiction. You have to be obsessed (to say the least) about something to be able to spend 16 hours a day doing it. I don't want to call it irresponsibility but it's kind of hard not to. I have learned to not criticize what I don't fully understand and that's why I've always refused to talk about stuff like this. Work can be boring, that's why it's always advisable to make money from things you love. Spending 12 to 16 hours a day doing what you love while not making money from it is irresponsible. It's a different thing if you're like a start-up and working on something for 12 hours a day and not making any money from it, like an upcoming musician or a start-up programmer, etc. Thats totally different. That is staying true to your grind but playing video games all day when you have bills to pay is something else. I know life is not always black and white but that energy can be transferred into something productive.

To be successful in life as a whole depends on our individual abilities to think towards how we can be successful in whatsoever thing we do, where we go and what we see, when we are successful in our financial lives then it a reflection of what we are made up of in life determination, our investments wouldn't be a successful one if we had not made a self discovery of ourselves, this will help towards having a successful financial investments.

From what you said in the first line@lovesmayfamilis, I was able to deduce that people achieve things differently. It doesn't matter if you spend 12-16 hours on gaming, what matters is what one hopes to achieve; the dopamine boost or a financial reward.
Now in the case of gambling addiction, it's quite true that it's a menace thats not given much attention like depression, but is slowly chipping away at you. In my opinion, success can be achieved in different ways and just like you stated, some peeps find purpose and fulfilment and even wealth the way that's okay for them.

Yes, you understood correctly. Look at the professionals, if you can call them that, namely the esportsmen in Counter-Strike. Entire championships are arranged, with large prize funds. Can these people be called "drug addicts" if they develop steadily and at the same time receive material prizes?
But, unfortunately, people who spend time playing games do not always understand that, in addition to this, they also have a life in real life, and they only have one, unlike a virtual one. In real life, it is difficult to start over because, whether we like it or not, time flies very quickly, and sometimes it is too late to change something.

They're two different things.

If you're doing bad at a game, you can just close it out and possibly throw your keyboard out the window.

But if you're having a rough time in the real world, that option does not exist. The reason people spend time in front of video games all day is that they are not difficult to face up to.

You are right, but then also, i think one of the mistake we make in life is not discovering ourselves on time, ask those who spend 12 hours a day on video games, they will probably tell you that they are still too young to begin to think about the future, and for those who are older and still spend so much time on video games, they probably have a business running for them somewhere and they spend their leisure time playing games.
Responsibilities most times is what drive the average man, the more they have important things to take care of which requires spending money, they more they tend to become serious in chasing after their goal and doing all they can to achieve financial stability, and the drive is always higher in those who have no family or rich relative to depend on.
So i think responsibilities also plays an important role in driving most of us to discovering ourselves.

Gaming addiction isn't a joke. Gaming addiction is a serious problem in countries like Japan.
Anyway, I guess that your question is why so many people like spending hours doing unproductive stuff, instead of working hard and building their wealth. The answer isn't that simple and I think that the problem lies in their childhood and their families. Your parents have a role in teaching you a thing or two about the importance of discipline and hard work. The people, who are playing videogames 12 hours a day probably had irresponsible parents, who never told them anything about life.

There is a difference between the players. Someone upgrades their characters and then sells them for quite a bit of money. I saw this, and the amount of the virtual player exceeded the cost of a good car. It is difficult to imagine the level of the vanity of those people who go to buy such heroes. But be that as it may, the creation and sale of the player justify the daily sitting at the computer. It can even be called a "good job," which, as they say, should be like a hobby. What a person does for pleasure
But there is another type of person who sits at a game for days without gaining a single gram of material benefit. One day, these people wake up and realize that they have nothing in reserve except for old age and glaucoma.
You can spend more money, time, and personal life investing in your future education; this is what successful people do. But we must admit that the addiction to games, called "gambling addiction," is comparable to drug addiction. And this is a serious disease that should be treated by professionals.

Video games' players aren't too far from the right path. If they are able to grind for so many hours daily, it's an evidence they have determination, patience and are able to fulfill with long term goals. They can take what they have started until the end and that is a positive trait on an individual.

Actually, video games can help people to develop those traits, so it's not entirely a waste of time and energy. They just have to know when to stop in order to start doing something else, where they can put those same skills in practice and make their lives change for the better. That is where most players fail, because they can't just do the transition because they live in a confort zone or fear the outside world.

This world is full of people, and each individual has unique abilities and is subject to constraints surrounding their own lives.
There are many problems in life that make them see making money as the meaning of life for them, from talking about their own lust or creating a personal position. And this problem is just a small part of life that not everyone realizes, I know the problem of life lessons that we are all learning will come when we ourselves realize giving up would be happier than pursuing them.
Life is full of truths around us, from good to bad, and the fact that we control our choices will help us see that everything is really simple.

I've been thinking the same but about companies. Companies that'll do really well in a few years may be ones that drive cheap labour by making their work environments "fun" and turning them into games (it's one way to help with a growing military recruitment issue a lot of countries are seeing too). If you could teach someone to program while getting them to make a website for a client you have then you might be able to get money off two different people at the same time too (although this was the original concept behind the current education system a lot of countries inherited).

A lot of people who will spend 16 hours grafting on an exchange might just end up gambling with the funds too (there seems to be a lot of people who get wealthy and take too many risks because of it - there's an equal number of people who live fairly risk free lifestyles and seem better off because of it).

That's a long way of saying "stop playing vidya and get to work!"  Grin.

I like your angle, but you can't just switch from gaming to constructive stuff, as they're more different than similar. Gaming is very stimulating, gives you a dopamine boost etc, it's an instant (usually undeserved) reward. The 'constructive stuff' is about delayed gratitude, to be successful in it, you need to learn to calm down and not look for constant dopamine stimulation (look up dopamine detox).

But it's also possible to re-wire your brain to start taking pleasure from doing the 'boring' but useful stuff.

Lack of purpose and dissatisfaction with the current world is also a reason why so many people (esp. young men) decide to check-out from society, by taking a minimum effort it takes to pay the bills and survive and just focussing on gaming. Why take any effort if there's no worthy reward in sight?
