how much OC you make on the 650W PSU with the 2x 7950, can you show some pics of running miner screen, temps , kH/s etc... ? does the PSU have enough connectors? and what 7950 you have? brand&type?

what is the best value - i mean if i use the 7950 it needs to have powerfull PSU and such a PSU is expensive and give me longer ROI.
what about 3x 7850 and one 1000W PSU
because for 3x 7950 i need much bigger PSU (1200W) thus ROI is longer is it?
or 4x 7950 and 2x smaller PSU like 2x 800W because i time 1500W is very expensive.

You forget to get some PCI-E extender
what is the best value - i mean if i use the 7950 it needs to have powerfull PSU and such a PSU is expensive and give me longer ROI.

You can probably find 3x used HD 7950's for $150~$140 each on craigslist. 5-6 BTC is about $600 to $800 worth, it's possible under that budget. At worst, you might have to run 2x HD 7950's if you can't get it within that budget range.
Yea I am seeing the 7950's going for $165 on ebay. The problem for me is that I live in the middle of nowhere (3 hours north of SF) so craigslist is kinda out of the question for me unless some one will ship to me

SJ is another 1 hr-ish extra drive from SF. Driving in the bay during rush hour sucks. You might be able to go cheaper with an AMD CPU and Mobo. HD 5870 are using cheaper on CL, I got one for $80 and another for $60 for my first GPU rig. But I'm about to get some HD 7950's in the near future and have an AMD and Intel rigs ready for up to 8 GPU cards total between the two. But probably going to put 2 a piece for starters. You probably get some from the marketplace, if people are flexible with their offers. Good luck with your build and happy mining....

Boring. I want to build this rig that is the appeal to me.
Plus CEX.io does bitcoin mining, not GPU mining (ie scrypt). Usually those companies come out on top for profits, while the users get minimum profit or next to nothing or in the minus. Plus, building a GPU miner is fun, just got to watch out for the electricity cost. Mine during off-peak and part-peak hours only.

solar panels are extremly expensive. Your electricity cost less than those solar panels produce in their lifetime I believe
With the current panels, it takes 15 to 20 years for them to equal out the cost. But that can change in the next two years.

I would like to build a LTC and have about 5-6btc to invest. Could you guys help me get a rig up and running for that budget? Is this just the worst idea ever? I think it will be a fun project to build and at least the gpu's can be resold a a reasonable price if I decide to give it up.
