Not an authority by any means, but here is my suggestion.

Divi (Divx) - Huge potential especially when converted and released to public in a few months time. Detailed road map that they keep constantly updated to keep track on the progress. Staggered master nodes depending on number of coins held. Aiming for mass adoption with simplification for 'inexperienced' users. Currently trading at approx. $2.50, but did hit as high as $12 back in the day (beginning of January!). 'Unfortunately' only trading on Cryptopia, but in my opinion definitely flying under the radar at the moment.

ICOs, I think I'll be watching this thread to pick up some ideas. My eyes are on Immvrse and Horizon, but I wouldn't be confident enough to recommend them yet.

1.Apollo 18 is a new ICO in it's infancy which is for mining and has a dividend sharing scheme

Merit has been awarded to those highlighting ICOs that interest me. To summarize, I believe Zilliqa, Elastos, Wanchain, Cypherium and Friendz have the most potential.

I have now updated OP with a few more parameters, please suggest ICOs and coins with a sub $5 token cost in order to be eligible for meriting, unless you happen to know something that will skyrocket despite being >$5.

Take a look at FarmaTrust: their goal is to use the ethereum blockchain to keep record and track single packages of pharmaceuticals through the supply chain. I will be a pharmacist in few months so i know how great this project can be. The possibility to track medicines allows people to take original drugs, avoiding adverse reactions or simply giving a treatment that otherwise they wouldn't receive since many fake drugs simply don't have an active substance (molecule), do you want an example? Artemisinin, an antimalarial drug extracted from Artemisia Annua, you wouldn't believe how much counterfeit is this drug: the implications are pretty obvious, and this could end in death of patients like it's already happening too many times. The platfrom built by FarmaTrust will eliminate counterfeits even for developing Countries, but even for developed ones in Europe and US simply using QR codes or SMS/vocal call. Have a look at Friendz. They have got a platform already up and running with a revenue stream. Looks very promising for me.

my personal list is: *Altair, *Friendz, * VLB. so the choice is conditioned by the following factors. Altair is brilliant at providing educational programs esp in terms of astronomy which is great for upbringing. let's help our children be smart! Friendz -a functioning platform with a revenue stream, which is also promising and appealing. VLB - real experience in the auto industry, QIWI and IMB in a partnership, and low soft/hard caps that makes the whole ico easy to implement.

Bluzelle (makes scaleable decentralized database) just came from ICO on Binance and price is in dips. Great team and big future of their technology

I would say that Zilliqa and Elastos are very promising. However, these ICOs have already ended. If you are asking about ICOs, in which you can participate right now, I would single out Morpheus Network and Quantum1net. Both of these projects are designed for a long-term perspective, I just fell in love with the idea itself. However, you must decide for yourself, this is only my opinion.

As per my signature I'm stoked on Taylor Tay. It is a mobile app trading bot for the masses. It makes crypto into kind of a addicting game. After seeing the million people signup backlog to Robinhood, I know there is a market for mobile trading apps and Taylor is a mobile trading app with a bot to facilitate frenetic trading. A mobile trading app on steroids. Taylor also has as advisors some of the most influential twitter OG's with huge followings that will be pumping Taylor on twitter so it is a good marketing program which is rare as most ICO's concentrate on the tech and neglect marketing. It is worth a look over.

You can check on Loyalcoin as the team is very active. Though the project isn't unique, I can tell you that I chose them over others because I trust them. It's powered by NEM too.

Also, you can check out Acorn (ACO). As far as my knowledge goes, they are the first in that concept using blockchain technology and you know how big crowdfunding industry is.

Fusion is currently traded on bibox and cobinhood just over ICO price. If you want to invest here pick it up now since price won't stay this cheap for long when main net will be online in a couple of months.

Anyway that's my 2 top pick for 2018 and If you read their whitepaper you will understand that they will go big.

secret god is the most interesting and promising ico mainly because it is not just another currency but it will likely appreciate against monthly burns, insane demand if team delivers, and future benchmark fiat equivalent value that is in line with non-blockchain projects and like 50x. if you have been in crypto awhile it is obvious what they are doing for community is very cool

Ironically I think this will be the year of identity on the blockchain.

But you know what they say: why not both? Governments will be pushing for unique identities on the internet to stop money laundering, funding militants, fake news and of course tax evasion. Inevitably there will be people who want to be anonymous. So, both identity and privacy coins.

It's not necessarily a matter of choosing because some of those projects are focusing on different countries and different applications.

This year seems like it may shape up to be a privacy coin year. That being said: NAV and SUMO seem interesting at the moment.

These don't quite qualify for the newer ICO you are looking for, but they are not too far off.

NAV has Valence right around the corner, and it seems it will work similarly to VEN with payouts. AdApps may also be huge in the future, and this would be one of the strong plays in that regard.

So, I've just read through the Ethereum, DASH and NEO whitepapers, and I'm astounded at how obvious it is that these currencies would succeed, I wish I had read these when they were announced. Now, I'm looking for some NEW ICOs or altcoins that are either in development now, or have just been released (within the last 6-12 months maximum).

I would like you to suggest your favourite up and coming ICOs and/or altcoins, and explain why you think they are going to be the next big thing. I will be meriting the best answers, and if your answer is truly outstanding I will tell others about it, resulting in more merit for you.
