No God or Kings, only BITCOIN.
No imo, i have had some posts where i could not delete myself so had to report it to the moderator.
Exactly, for example your own created topic, you can't delete it instead you can only edit and locked it. Hence, if you want to permanently removed it you should use that report button so that mods are inform that you want to delete it but I still think they need reason/s for it why you want to delete it.

Correct if wrong but there are some boards where you can't delete your own posts (irrespective of 24 hrs limit).

So far i have only reported couple of my posts in my near 3 year of existence here so i don't think I'm putting much pressure on mods   Grin

You are correct, and Meta is one of them.

After all, mods are able to distinguish between legit and deliberate mistakes, just like one fella which previously reported posts as "1" when drunk.

P/S: I don't see why anyone drunk would ever browse here Cheesy

I'm sure the mods would catch on the error easily as they do not simply act on the content of the report, but do their own research into it.
If you want to be sure, you can always message the moderator of that board and let then know you made an error.
Not sufficient reason to disable the option completely especially as a lot of people find it useful.

There is not wrong if you do this but I don't think you should report your posts that you are not allowed to delete them now. Wait till tomorrow and you will be able to delete them. Let's moderators free of stuffs that we can solve by ourselves with some waiting time (about 24 hours are not too long) and give them more time to handle reports of spams.

Hey,

I think it still appears because there is usecase for the button. In which case we can use the button of our own posts?

When we make a post and want to delete it but in some boards, we can not delete our posts within 24 hours. If we think the post is awful, by misposting we can use the button to send a delete request to moderators.

Yeah it's also helpful to get a thread moved to archival or to get a thread split near your post, you can give the mod the exact location where the split should occur in that case.

There were occasions in the past where you couldn't delete posts on a topic that was locked, which has since been made possible too so that was an old use case for the button (however, it may still not be possible on some boards, I'm  not sure).

If we think the post is awful, by misposting we can use the button to send a delete request to moderators. There is a minus point in such a usecase, more workload for moderators. Fundamentally, we can delete the post, just have to wait enough 24 hours. Maybe it is the only one usecase to self-report our posts.

By the way, it is a good time to resuggest a warning for us as reporters if we already report a post and try to report for the second, third, fourth times, for instance. The warning will help us know we already report it, and if we have nothing new as supplementary reasons, proofs, we would not report it again.

I reported my own post once and it was marked as good.  Grin
I was writing a new topic which was a bit long. After two or three lines, I posted that by mistake. Since it could take more than an hour to make the whole post, I edited the post to "please delete" or something like that, locked it and reported it to get trashed. Then I opened a new topic.

As the title say and i dont know if that is possible would be great to hide the " Report to Moderator " button for your own account or posts !

I dont know if that suggestion was already written so thats why done this one !

The reason for this is because i accidentally reported my one post in a thread i have written a warning for other Users !
As Reference i have written to nuke or ban the User !  Cheesy
So hopefuly i dont get banned by my one report i have done that was meant for OP in this thread!

This is the thread TFC miner , An ccminer based miner with no DevFee and if its already deleted, you can look at it here Archived https://archive.vn/rpDD7

And i guess nobody will report his one posts he has done !
Thats why i asking if that is possible and not to much work for theymos that the Report to Moderator button is hided on the post that the User have done !
Guess maybe a few have accidentally done that too , hopefuly and i am not the first one !

Would be avoid bad reports i guess and you cant mistakenly report your one post !
