Just an idea:
nowdays you can choose if you want to open a topic or a poll.
a third thing would be handy like asking a question for specific answers.
If someone opens a new 'question', people will answer and the OP can mark the best answer in a checkbox next to the post. As soon as he mark a post as satisfactory answer for the question, the 'question topic' is automatically locked.
After this, the system can also open a new tab in the browser (if the OP has spendable merits), in order to help OP to give merit easily for the member who answered the question.

I was going to suggest exactly this. There are some forums which have already implemented something like this. This could reduce spam and would provide a better forum navigation.

Everybody knows that threads should be locked after being answered. But how should we enforce this? What is your suggestion?

This is done a lot. I do it once I get an answer to a thread where I know that there will be a lot of other answers that might not be concise to what I want and will just change. There are obvious potential spam megathreads in your op though like the "is ethereum better than ripple" which could actually just be deleted before it's even got an answer because people should really try to research for themselves and come up with their own opinions (when both currencies, whitepapers and blockchains are publicly available).

The author of the thread can lock his thread whenever he wants. The problem is that most of them don't know about this or don't care.

This has already been discussed a lot. Actually, last week someone created a thread with a similar suggestion: Threads should be locked after a certain time

Recently, I answered a post when someone asked about what is it like to invest in BTC/crypto businesses in India. There were no reply while i posted my opinion. I saw that the member locked the thread immediately after seeing my answer, which really made me think that this is a good idea (as in a general rule for all members).

I am only talking about new topics that are asking pretty straightforward questions.

Some examples:

Is doing bounty worth it?

Is it normal to wait for 6 months for a bounty reward?

Which is better Ethereum or Ripple?  New « 1 2 ... 155 156 »

Is it very risky to turn all my money to Crypto currency?  New « 1 2 ... 94 95 »

Topics that are like Q&A looking for specific or straightforward answers can be locked (by OP) to prevent spammers (imho). The lesser opportunities they see to shit post, they will either leave or start posting responsibly.
