It's not hard to implement, but I don't think admin will do that ever. There is more important things are waiting for
implementation . Just you can avoid quote of ignored users. You ignore a user it doesn't mean his quote is harmful for you. You can simply skip. May be there is useful quote for you also, if not don't read it and skip.

This is also one of the reasons why people should learn how to properly quote a text without it being an inconvenience to those who would be reading it. And only highlight the part of the text they wish to reply to.

The way I see it is even if you see the quoted message of the one you ignored it doesn't mean they are the ones who you are seeing that are posting, it just means that someone had quoted and reply to his post and you might find something useful on what he replied to someone you ignored.  If not and you have seen that this user is always quoting the one you ignored and is replying worthless messages then you can also ignore that user for your own sanity. The Ignore feature for me still works like a charm and I don't mind seeing the quoted messages of the users I have ignored in the past.

Maybe when the new forum software arrives--right after Jesus Christ comes back to Earth--this could be implemented.  I do think it would be useful, because I also can't stand seeing my ignored list members' posts getting quoted such that I have to see them.

I'd also like the option of not just graying out ignored users' threads but not having to see them at all.

It would be perfectly possible and not too difficult. Every post containing
Code:
[quote author=]
could be hidden/ignored.

The only issue I see is that a post could be from someone you care about and could include useful information. To solve that only the quote itself could be removed/hidden while showing everything else.

Edit: Actually it would be easy to create a userscript that does that. I'll try getting some time to work on that soon, unless someone writes it first.

I don't know how feasible this is because I have limited to no knowledge regarding the coding of the forum.
However, the forum would be greatly improved if all post quoting ignored users were also automatically ignored.

Without that feature the ignore button does not really work as ignored users posts still show up in quoted rebuttals.

Such a feature would also reduce the need to ban individuals who are very obnoxious but borderline cases as it would become easier to actually ignore them.
