Thanks for the replies.  The faucet at https://faucet.rinkeby.io/ had been down but is back up and running now.  I was just able to get some of the coveted testnet ETH and use it successfully I might add.  Very cool.  It also makes me see how dependent the rinkeby developer network is to a single faucet.  You'd think Opensea would have something a little better in place considering they're selling NFTs in the billions of dollars in revenue...

Anyway, my request is no longer needed.  Happy ending reached.

I figured this was a good place to ask this question before hitting the Googles.  I am finding myself in need of some testnet ETH to, well, do some contract testing on the testnet.  I've been told this is as simple as visiting a faucet, but as mentioned I haven't done any searching of the interwebs yet.  I thought I'd save myself any potential issues and ask the crowd where the common place to receive testnet ETH is.  Thank you in advance developers and those enabling them.  Keep building the future!
