^ This looks more of a noob not knowing where to post his scam ico/airdrop. Obviously has nothing to do with Bitcoin project development.

Either way, I agree that trust should be visible, not only there but probably on every other board/sub-board. Guests should be able to see trust as well.

They post scams there on purpose because they know their trust level isn't visible.

Yet another example why trust should be displayed by default: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5123154.new#new

Your suggestion is in place but we have the same problem in a section that showing trust "Digital goods" but there are a lot of scam cases appearing in that section.
If we compare the two sections, the effect of showing trust does not change anything. *AFAIK*

On the other hand, showing trust will make the evaluation of projects non-neutral and based on DT1&2 view that we can not determine their validity.

It makes sense to have the trust displayed in the Project Development section, in fact I think that section might need a little more attention overall. Seems like there's a lot of threads which belong elsewhere there. I know project development also gets the "great project" sort of spam on some of the threads too.

Strongly agree with OP. I noticed this case and tagged as well but trust wasn't visible there. So I reported to moderators since they had made post on wrong board. Seems report marked good and topic has been trashed. Topic archived here.

So I think it would be better visible trust rating on Project Development section, who know may be some others scammer will make something similar?

One thing that we need to stop doing is babysitting people about where to invest and where not to. Its their own choice to put their money into something that promises huge returns. If they believe that and think that such things do exist then even warning them wont make a difference because it has been set in their mind.

Newbies will not either :
1. Look into their trust rating or,
2. Learn the meaning of ponzis/MLMs and how they operate predating on the greedy newbies.

Sweeping generalizations there, about what the amorphous group of new members may or may not do/think.
Pointing out schemes that are likely scams =/= babysitting.

Agreed. For a second I thought the Project Development section is just for bitcoin-exclusive and related projects only, though after finding several ICOs and several other service posts in there, I wondered why the trust-ratings aren't showing on that particular board. What you presented is a clear case of someone trying to scam people all the while being masked by hidden trust-ratings. Perhaps it's time to really implement that on Proj. Development board.

As suspected, my warning post got deleted.

Thread was deleted already.

So anyway, I applied as a merit source :)

We can warn people but that is offtopic to the thread. Instead we should report such thread OPs as "Should be moved to Investor Based Games."

There was a thread on the topic by @vod from August 2018 (see Please show Trust in Project Development). There was a bit of a rustle for a few days, but the topic withered with no further development. The case you present is a clear cut case of why it should be shown there.

I approve your suggestion. Is really dangerous that Project Development section don't show user trust

I highly suggest to enable showing trust ratings in the Project Development section. Here is an obvious example of a ponzi scheme: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/--5118284

I left negative feedback and posted a warning message but it will likely get deleted due to it being a self-moderated topic. Not showing trust ratings makes it hard to warn people from getting scammed.
