But the fact of the matter is that you are going to lose a good 4 to 6 hours a day maintaining that information as soon as it goes public. So the best thing to do is to have a comprehensive plan ahead of time and if you can dispense that across the team that would be great.

The best thing you can do is to put your entire plan for at least 3 months in advance down on paper or down in your personal computer before you even touch your first announcement. What's going to happen is it soon as you even make a pre-announcement on a single form is you're going to get hit with questions left and right and chances are you're probably going to get hit with a lot of negative attacks that are based on the fact that people are tired of other projects that have taken their money and take that out on the new project.

In my opinion good promotion could be done throught transaprency of the team,making videos, updates of the projects. It also help to have a famous ambasador for the project, this is my opinion.

The best ways to promote a project is through social campaigns like Twitter campaign and through signature campaigns on the forum. You need an amazing marketing team for a wonderful marketing. Having a coin actually usable at a few places would be a nice change from alt coins that don't have a use other than exchanges. The typical things of faucets and having at least one gaming site to use the coin should be a given. Something more interesting or unique may help promote a coin also.

I'm note sure but I think one time I joined his bounty campaign.

If you want to promote and advertise your project around the blockchain community, you can launch a bounty program consist of bitcointalk signatures and social media, twitter, reddit.

This way people will see your project very frequently and they will want to know about it.

Tons on controversy but obviously DeepOnion's way of promoting seems to work as there's almost always a DeepOnion thread on the first page every time I check. As far as I know there isn't an ICO but rather a massive 40-week long signature and bounty campaign where huge amounts of DeepOnion coins are distributed. I know it's energized me and the community on DeepOnion is really active.

First, the best way to promote your project is with a high quality post and higher ranks allowed to make other believe in your project.
Second, reading in some articles related information.
Third, I'll look at the budget of the campaign, the founder and other staff of the project.

Yes, a lot would actually pay attention to that most especially with signature campaigns. And you can check some signature campaigns in this forum to see how actively the members participate and promote your project through signature campaigns and of course social medias.
