How many gridseeds can this power and what is the worst case if you overcharge or do something that a noob solar person would do?

So, a kit with a 12v 3a output will only power three gridseed miners and a tp-link for $159?

Am I right to understand that this SunSeed, and thereffore your GridSeed (for instance) would have to be in direct sunlight for this to be effective?

That's right, put it under direct sunlight.
The gridseed does not need to be in the sun, only the solar pannel, you should know that! Roll Eyes

Can you build an setup for 10 gridseeds, i want to know what i need to get them working.

Then make an video and pictures of it and show us hashing. If you can do that.
Then you will get an Big Pluss!

If this is legitimate, this is one of the best products I have seen in the last couple of years, including ASIC releases.

Exactly what this market needs.

If it's not legitimate, let me know and I will personally hire some electrical engineers and a marketing team to design this.

ok
before anyone goes mad with this

these battery's are not STABLE unless you charge them correctly

they have caused fires and I will post pics when I get back home tomorrow

there are better system for using solar charging / power for the Gridseeds

don't get me wrong this WILL work but you must very careful.

just look at this on youtube
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ixIOEPnsgbI

First of all, the Youtube video is not LFP batteries, it's LiPo, LFP is much safer than LiPo.

Secondly, SunSeed has over-charge, over-discharge protection for the battery and is definitely safer than what you think.

Think about the mobile phone you carry every day, if you think  Lithium battery is unsafe at all, every one shouldn't be using mobile phone.

SOLARMINER SunSeed (Pre-Ordering)

$259.00 $159.00

1000 Units Pre-Ordering.

SOLARMINER SunSeed is a solar power device designed for the purpose of powering GridSeed with Sunlight. This device is expected to be shipped in May 30th 2014 and Preorder is open for a maximum of 1000 units at $159.

The photos is the final prototype and will be ready for mass production in May 20th 2014.

Specification:

Solar Panel: 20Watts.
Batteries: Lithium (LFP) 12V 6000mAh.
Output:  2Ports at 12V 3A max
USB Ports: 2Ports at 5V 1A .
AC Battery Charger: 16V 2A.

Do you have a working Prototype already?

Yes we do. The photos are the real prototype that we have made.

Why do we do Pre-Orders?

Since GridSeed and Scrypt Litecoin mining is a new market, the volumn of the market is unknown, Rather than making the decision by SolarMiner, we decided to give the decision to GridSeed miners.

Why 1000 Pre-Orders?

We concludes such number according to the costs of mass production. Such volume can make sure that SunSeed is affordable to everyone involved in Litecoin and Altcoin mining.

When does the shipment begin?

Shipping is scheduled on May 30th, 2014, and no later than July 1st, 2014. Please bear us for supplementing July 1st 2014 at last, as there’s always a possibility of encountering delays from suppliers or any shipping delays.

Well if this works fine it seems VERY cool device! Smiley

Solar power for your miner! Smiley Great! And more ECO! Smiley
