You're asking us about paying taxes?  It looks like the price doesn't actually end up being that different, and it would even be cheaper if they refund your VAT.  I doubt your decision is going to make much difference to the Bitcoin economy, regardless, since no one in the Bitcoin economy produces HP computers anyways.

I asked about the best way to support the bitcoin economy when doing some hw purchase. If everyone thought their purchase didn't matter and didn't support the bitcoin economy, we would see no growth in trade. Of course, every purchase matters.

I would like to buy this one:
http://www.bitcoinstore.com/hp-proliant-microserver-658553-001-ultra-micro-tower-server-1-x-amd-turion-ii-neo-n40l-1-5ghz.html

It's also listed in my home country here:

I would really like to support the bitcoin economy, but I'm a little unsure about what to do.

1. If I order it from bitcoinstore, I will have to pay expensive shipping and VAT on the norwegian border (which I later can have deducted from my taxes). Ordering from them lets me support the bitcoin economy directly however, but if there's any issues, DOA etc, getting it replaced will take more time and probably involve shipping costs, also what warrany that's applicable I'm unsure of.

2. If I ordered through a local store, ie. a proxy and had somebody pay it for me, and give them bitcoins, would that still be considered supporting the bitcoin economy ?

It's a little dilemma, as I would like to order locally because of convenience and ease if there's any problems, while at the same point I would really like to support the bitcoin economy. I already sent komplett an e-mail asking them if they take bitcoins, but I haven't received any reply.

What's your take on this ?

Edit: Sent them (komplett) an e-mail today asking whether they would accept me paying with bitcoins. But I do not hold my breath..
