If you have a Co-Location where you have to even think about surge protectors, you should probably rethink whether or not you want to host your rigs there.Are surge protectors needed?

some much much cheaper co hosts id recommend it but most your fine without them.
Great, thanks! I figured since they have redundant power, and implementations to prevent blackouts/brownouts.
if it is really expensive gear id still use one but its just extra protection. if they have redundant power then its not really needed
