Topic: [Survey] Flu Shots (Read 306 times)
Flu shots are a must. In my university it is required for every student. As we say prevention is better than cure and that is definitely true, we can avoid consequences if we anticipate our actions towards our health. If we take shots like this it is one way of taking care of ourselves.
Ive never gotten a Flu shot myself but I dont think its a bad idea in general. I have a fairly strong immune system and typically dont catch the flu or other illnesses. Maybe thats not the best reasoning but it works for me so far.
I don't think it matters too much (if you are considered healthy)
I think the reason they do the shots and push them on us so hard is because we are at risk healthy or not.
Like Ebola for example.
It is contagious and deadly and would not matter if you are weak or not.
I think they push these FLU shots in an effort to curb epidemics from breaking out.
I mention this topic because my area of Canada is getting a higher rate last couple years
..they call it an epidemic too.
The major serious FLU virus's are not like the common cold.
I am fairly sure they could be life threatening to anyone.
Remember the outbreaks of the Bird Flu then the Pig/Swine FLU ?
They were major world headlines for a long time.
I dunno though i am no Doctor

So i made a comment on Disqus saying i refused to get any shots since i was a kid..
It got me thinking.. what do MOST people think ? Yes or No ?
With out getting into why and the obligatory conspiracies i suspect there is negative effects and i am prone to getting them with medical stuff.
Anyone else refuse to get them too ?
I have got some i think twice as a little kid but i am 41 now and won't let them stick needles in me.
Obviously the risk is a major FLU attack that could potentially kill me.
And i do recognize i may be putting the public at danger by being an easier carrier of the FLU.
Any thoughts ? Vote on Poll ?
I voted Maybe depending on the person.
Some people may get a lot of negative side effects etc.
So if you don't or don't care then i would vote yes.. otherwise NO.
