Is there anything one can do with useless ERC20 Tokens? For example, a discontinued project or a bunch of scam developers.
There is no way but to wait until it gets value or listed in an exchange. It's better to just keep it rather than burning it so you would not waste gas for making thar transaction. We have to accept the if our coin has no chance to have a value.

I have a lot of these shit tokens coming from airdrops and scam bounty rewards and I'm searching a way on how to get rid of it with profit, but there is no project like that where you will get rewarded with the tradeable coin by just swapping your dead erc20 tokens, really annoying to look when you check your wallet.

Me too, pal. What I did is just transfer the coins that still has a value to a new Erc20 address just to stop having a bad mood when I see those useless tokens taking up all my wallet in that previous address. And another thing that bounty hunters did wrong is they join a bunch of airdrops without doing research so they have 50-100 shitcoins on their wallet.

Nothing can be done. The project is just dead, except you want to form a community and start pumping and dumping the coin. Most of of tokens from bountyhive projects are now a spam on my ERC20 wallet. I just disable them on Imtoken 1.0.

Scammers love erc20 tokens, you create the supply and you get to distribute it out. While there are some legit erc20 projects it is a chain plagued with scams.

I don't like erc20 tokens I don't consider them blockchain, they are centralised and I guess you could consider premined and backed and created out of nothing just like the USD.

I see erc20 tokens lower than dog shit, atleast dog shit doesn't try to hide the fact it's shit, erc20 on the other hand is like dog shit rolled around in glitter and now someone's trying to sell them as gold nuggets and diamonds to you giving you the false illusion you've got something of great value.

Just leave those tokens in your wallet, as a decorate. You cannot do anything.
Where did you get the tokens ? I got many tokens from bounty campaigns, but unable to sell that because the price so low.
There are only a few projects are worth to doing the bounties and investing nowadays.

Currently most of the ERC 20 token applications I have seen are in insurance, betting and finance. And these areas are actually not superior to traditional finance. So maybe you haven't seen the ERC 20 yet
this is useless token in cryptocurrency,i think its developers team create projects just to earn money.they have no quality as blockchain or crypto developers.personally i will not participate in this kind projects.most of them has no value in market.

One of my friend wanted to create service like magic box containing different random tokens. You buy this box, some tokens are worthless and some have value. So perhaps this idea can give  second chance for useless tokens

You can't swap a crypto it doesn't have any value because who can be that much stupid to buy something which doesn't have any value at the moment.

So keep them in your wallet and there maybe some miracle happens that the poject reopens then you might has something to sell it for.

I think OP already receive a lot of answer,  as you title already mention that useless Erc20 tokens, you really can't do anything unless project continue development or the tokens get listed on exchanges. I've some "useless" tokens in my wallet more than 1 years. I think the project is dead, but suddenly project get listed on exchanges, so everthings is possible on cryptocurrency world.

You can wait for a long time and maybe some of them are going to raise from ashes in the future, but there is nothing you can do about them besides storing them on your wallet. Maybe, try to sell them of Forkdelta or similar DEX.

I have my fair share of tokens from abandoned projects  Cheesy
There are some that offers swapping in exchange of a new token from a different team but the offer is only limited.

You can dump it at whatever price if it's listed and there are still buy order or you can simply ignore and keep them as memento.
Create a new wallet and transfer your more valuable tokens there.

Well, in General, a lot of projects that will now leave the market, since they either have already spent money,or initially they did not have a development perspective, and on the HYIP of 2017,they collected money, and then when there was growth, everyone rushed and bought them, although these projects are not worth anything at all,so to say the market will be cleared

Nothing, you can do absolutely nothing until they get listed on exchange, or you can listed them on Dex exchanges and see if you will get buyers, when you called something useless, if it is want can you do with them, many of the tokens in the space will end up dead and sorry to say, many people will lose money

You cannot do that, for example, you have a useless token / coin and it will also remain in your wallet list. in addition, if your coins are obtained through a fraud project, it will be very difficult to exchange them because no one will be interested in dead coins / useless coins.

it depends on your definition of dead/useless coins  . some will say those terms even if the coin do still have a value but its value is not improving while others will define a useless coin if its not listed or does not have any market value , this coin are the ones that cant be swap/trade while those coins that have at least some small value are the ones that can still be swap or sell  , i dont consider these coins useless at all  .

We can do nothing about discontinued projects or scam projects if you are talking about booking them for scamming people. Now the market is experiencing scamming and it is running openly. So how it can be dealt with is regulation. Our part is just to expose scam projects through various social media and make people aware.

Many ERC20 in my wallet are useless because the not active anymore. Nothing we can do with this useless token because if we burn it, we should use gas to send it. I am prefer let it useless in my wallet

I can relate on this.  I have bunch of worthless token on my stash, some were from bounty and some from an exchange where it loses its value overtime until it was delisted.
That's what happens when the token doesn't really worth something. Once the exchange finds out that there's no actual volume for that token, they will dispose it.

I think there is none but just lay it there, if your garbage token is too many I would follow what eagleman said, create another erc20 address for your valuable token.
There's no other choice unless Vitalik will do something for this.

I guess OP means selling them but obviously they're worthless is the project was discontinued or scam.
If he just wants to get rid of the tokens he can also just send them to another address but for me that wouldn't be worth the effort and tx-fee.
Selling them is useless, no market, no value, no buyer. Sending it to another wallet address is also a choice for him but I wouldn't spend gas with that.

The only thing you can do is create a new wallet and separate the tokens that are valuable in your opinion from the useless ones. You cannot delete tokens from the wallet, just transfer.

Well, many contracts even got a burn-function so you could indeed "delete" those tokens but there's no advantage over just transferring them to another wallet.

Offer them in sites like these and head to Switchdex.ag add said coin and just link it so anyone can match the trade! Bunch of people just like to collect weird tokens and even better discontinued ones, don't give up you can still trade it for profit!

While it's kind of the buyer's own fault if he's buying useless tokens, I'd still call it asocial behavior selling useless crap to other people.

You can swap them to better alts with better future instead of just holding the useless token and have a rest of mind , this is why bounty hunters do dump new alts to old and better ones cos no one can tell where it will be in view weeks or months .

Usually scam-tokens aren't listed on any exchange so you'd have to sell them on an (decentralized) exchange like forkdelta that doesn't require a listing in order to trade.
However obviously it's not very likely that someone will buy useless tokens issues by a discontinued/scam project.

Wake up every morning and be staring at it, there is no meaningful thing you can do with it, no more developer the token is useless.
If you are going to be feeling bad seeing it in your wallet, send it back to the scam token smart contract.

The easiest option is to forget about them forever.  Or, as you are advised, transfer them to a new wallet, if they bother you.  I also have a lot of useless stuff, but I'm just not paying attention to it.  I transfer promising coins to my main wallet and keep it there until better times.

Fraud is really a game that is very often present in roles that are run by several groups, so the tokens that have a price on the ERC20 will be easy to run or be played by other parties just to be used as a useful project

No, it will stay there forever.
I know what you feel about those worthless erc20 tokens that were sent to you. But you are free to create a new wallet that you haven't posted anywhere so that there will be no airdrop tokens.

My suggestion is also same. Create new wallet and just build your portfolio only with listed and worthy tokens.
Since there's no way to wipe it out creating a new wallet and transfer those tokens will be the very good option, if you wanted to clean out
your wallet as you are already irritated seeing tokens without value and you wanted to focus with projects that will really bring good opportunities
then wiping it away by sending it to a new wallet will do.

There's nothing you can do about it. As what you've said it's a "Useless" ERC20 tokens it means that it has no use at all it will stay in your wallet, imagine having a trash on your wallet that's what is it. If only we can burn it and exchange it to ETH maybe there's a lot of people might will be helped by it but it's impossible lol.

-You Can Burn Your Tokens (This Need Some Efforts And Transaction Fees) To 0x0000000000000000000000000000000000000000
-You Can Search For Buy Order On Ethereum DEX Like EtherDelta and ForkDelta, This May Work But Usually, The Token Price Is So Low (Since It's Basically Worthless) And Sometimes It Doesn't Ever Cover Up The Fee(Exchange Fee)
-Send It To The Person You Hate (Require Some Transaction Fee)

No and never will, the useless token will continue to be useless forever. Especially if the token was developed by a scam project, it is clear that the token will never be of value. Maybe if developed by a project that stops it still has the possibility to have a return value.

Yes, let's just say the useless token is the decoration of your wallet, count it to make it look rich when people track your wallet haha

My main ethereum wallet is like a garbage truck loaded with shit coins right now. I wish a way to wipe out them but creating a new wallet and transfering valuable tokens to there is also a good idea.
Perhaps in the future, settings for MEW + cookies will be created to hide some assets. On MM we can always add or remove any of the tokens. It's comfortable.
But the best thing is not to pay attention to this shitcoins.

There is nothing to do with the useless ERC-20 tokens, also no exchange or other service renders provide with the access for swapping. Binance has got a feature where large number of tokens can be swapped to top listed cryptocurrency. Here it has got limitations and at the same time if those were useless tokens here also there isn't no way for swapping.

There is nothing you can do with the ERC20 token that you have, if the token comes from a scams source. Because these tokens will function if they are already registered in exchange, and their platform can be used by the public.

You can just transfer your useful tokens to a new wallet and forget you had an old one. That way you would get rid of them.
I use 3 types of wallets. 1 for airdrops, my trash wallet. Another for bounty, my earning wallet. And another for the tokens I buy, my trading wallet.
Any promising coins from 1st and 2nd would come to the third.
