bloody hell..... stupid Tor and or me Sad

hopefully i only had a few degenerates doing there degenerative.... doings..

Does it make any sense to call up your local law enforcement now and tell them what happened?
Perhaps even position yourself as an expert, instead of a problem.

How did you accidentally set your TOR to an exit node?

I do browse SR 2.0 sometimes.... and if the browser ever acts as an exit node, then I'll be behind bars for quite sometime.  Huh

oh well its probly fine.
Probably. A couple of times while innocently looking at furry porn, I've stumbled across porn that... let's just say it was notably lacking in fur. Undecided I'm like, what the fuck is that shit even doing on the clearnet? In any case, despite the fact that I do all my porn browsing sans Tor (for speed), no cops have yet shown up at my house.

Though if you're running an exit node, the sheer volume of illegal material makes the "I stumbled across it accidentally" explanation get less plausible with every megabyte.

I use TPG. Do you speak indonesian so I can ring them up to explain Smiley Huh
TPG is actually great service and speeds I must say.
This is why I prefer iiNet. They employ customer service staff who not only understand English, but also understand technical issues. So I can't really help you there.

It takes a little while for Tor to recognise you as a relay or exit node anyways yeah ? so hopefully it was only a couple of hours
I think so, although I've heard of one guy who started an exit node and got a call from his ISP about an hour later about all the illegal activity suddenly coming from his IP, so I guess it doesn't always take very long for your exit node to see some action.

Why would using tor get you in trouble, or have I missed something here?

While I think it was mainly a joke but in the eyes of a government anybody who wants anonymity or privacy is automatically either a terrorist or a criminal, luckily they don't know how to use a computer properly though and probably never will.

I dunno, the governments tend to have some of the best hackers going in employment.

guybrush: If you wanted to visit bad sites on the normal internet, or if you hacked peoples onlines wallets for e.g and you used Mr X's exit node, its there IP address that will be in the logs.....

Quickly! Send all your bitcoins to me in case your computer is seized! I'll keep them safe, I promise. Wink

On a more serious note, you should tell your ISP what has happened. Their logs will back up your story, and once they understand how it happened, they can then tell the authorities to fuck off on your behalf. Failing that, you should take this time to research criminal defence attorneys in your area.
