If that's the Ausie's rules on buying back damaged money, then this guy should get close to if not all of it back. They're all there, just smaller than expected. This wouldn't have happened with a US dollar.

I hope he gets some of his money back at least. At least he still has those bill portions!

oh the joy of plastic money....ahem sorry... (holding nose high while speaking this word) "polymer" money....
In addition the notes are made of plastic, so they melt when heat is applied!

Most ppl use a freezer for that large amount for a small nick of time to have atleast a small protection against a fire. In this case, it was opposite. I bet he will never make this same mistake twice.
IMO, invest in a fire proof safe, 60 bucks or the freezer could have saved this man 15k.
