I am running Electrum Wallet version 3.1.3. On Tails OS.
There is a post that explains step by step how to update Electrum on Tails OS... it even explains how to verify the digital signature of the appImage etc. However, I think it may require persistance to be enabled.

Also, obviously, you should use 3.3.5 (instead of 3.3.4 as used in the guide).

Persistence mode is disabled by default so I fear that if I try to restart the program I will lose the BTC transaction itself.
The most important part, is making sure that you have the 12 word seed mnemonic... if you have that, you don't need to worry about the bitcoins or transaction being "lost".

Do you have a backup copy of your seeds and private key of the BTC address where you receive bitcoins?
If you still don't have a backup follow this guide below.

Backup seed:

- Open Electrum
- Click wallet upper left of the Electrum
- Click seed(Then put the password if it requires)
- Copy the seed and paste it somewhere safe or write it down to the piece of paper.

Backup private keys:

- Open Electrum
- Click "view" right side of the "wallet"
- Now click "show addresses"
- Click the addresses tab then find your bitcoin address where you receive bitcoins.
- Right click then click private key(Enter the password if it requires)
- Copy your private key then save it somewhere safe or in notepad for temporary.

Now you have a backup copy of your seed or the private key of the address where you should receive bitcoins.

Now install/upgrade the latest version of Electrum using this command line below.

Code:
wget https://download.electrum.org/3.3.5/electrum-3.3.5-x86_64.AppImage
chmod +x electrum-3.3.5-x86_64.AppImage

Now you can run it with this code.

Code:
./electrum-3.3.5-x86_64.AppImage

Now you have the latest version import your seed or private key and it should fix your problem.

You can't sync that version easily anymore, you need to upgrade your Electrum to the latest (not Tails).

I think it's near impossible to sync old version of Electrum now.

The latest version is 3.3.5 btw.

Make sure that it came from the official site: electrum.org.

Just export the SEED or the address' private key as a backup, you can restore the wallet to any Electrum client using it.

That's all.

I am running Electrum Wallet version 3.1.3. On Tails OS.

I sent BTC to this wallet over 2 hours ago but have yet to receive it. The network status is either Red or stuck on Synchronizing....

Persistence mode is disabled by default so I fear that if I try to restart the program I will lose the BTC transaction itself. Has anybody encountered this problem where Electrum wallet refuses to connect to a server/synchronize?

Thanks guys
