Maybe I'm doing something wrong.. By closing my transaction wallet each time, before I close MultiBit?  Maybe it is that this requires syncing twice.. Once when I open the program, then again when I open the wallet?  I thought it should be sequenced as I'm doing.. That opening the program only syncs its copy of the blockchain, catching up since the last time the program was opened; and opening the wallet then has to sync the wallet with blockchain (either downloaded or server). Is this wrong.

I guess I have no complaint about this -- although it is becoming a bit onerous to wait and wait for syncs each time I want to make a transaction.  Mostly I'd just like to understand it better, I guess.

But my confusion is this.. Once I start the program and it fully synchronizes with the blockchain.. 1)Why to I have to wait all over again for the latter transactions of a wallet to synchronize? Why can't it do that internally with the program sync I just waited on once already? 2)And why is it only the more recent transactions that have to sync up every time, when the earlier ones are green-checked right from the start?

Well thats the point you are using multibit isnt it? You dont have a complete copy of the blockchain thus the TXs have to be verified online with other nodes. I doubt your computer speed has anything to do with it. Slow connection / slow nodes might be the reason.

About you switching, other "thin wallets" might have similar problems. E.g. electrum relys on special Servers, if they are slow your wallet is slow.

This seems strange.  Every time I open my wallet and it shows the Transactions ledger, all my earliest ones (thru Jan 2014) immediately show a green check mark; but all the later ones do not.  I have to wait for all those to slowly check green from bottom to top, and that takes several minutes.  MB has fully synced with the blockchain dozens of times since the first of the year; and just as many times has my wallet then synced perfectly -- and I have made about 20 transactions this year, that have all gone without a hitch.

So I wonder.. Why is it I must wait every time for these latter transactions -- some of them over eight months old -- to sync one more time, every time I open my wallet?  My computer's slow enough, the startup process takes 10-15 minutes every time!  That's a sufficient bother for me just go to another online wallet I have to do a lot of transactions I'd rather rather be doing on my MultiBit.
