I had friend who downloaded a mining application from his tablet. I am just confuse if is it legit or not? If not, is possible in some ways? How?

Thank you guys for your ideas.

It is just a scam you will spend more cost that your earnings. These kind of mining will give you earnings around $0.1 per month if you still wanna continue your tablet mining just go ahead.
But proper mining needs ASIC miners which are the best to mine bitcoins so buy one of these miner and install it on your home then you can earn around $300 to $400 per month based on the electricity cost of your country.

Bitcoin mining power is calculated on the hashing power that you can provide on a pool
to solve those blocks. ASIC miners have TERA HASHES how could a tablet get a chunk
of the pool if your power is 1000 less that others?

mining bitcoin through a smartphone is not a good idea.
it totally wastes your time and slowly damages your phone.

I can see it working, I don't see why I shouldn't, it would just be a very slow and painful process for your tablet and it would most likely overheat and possibly die on you a lot from over heating, so I would just stick to mining with a computer of with real mining software and electronics means for mining, like and Antminer.

If you have free power then you could make some money, it is actually not worth doing, may be if you wear out your hardware or the cost of electricity would be more than the money you would make.
It is like you are going to spend $12-13 to make $0.001, hope you got it, i believe we can make something worth.

Know about ASIC's which are called sha256d hashes, there are few devices that produce.
Mining bitcoin with GPU, CPU, Your phone's CPU, a tablet etc
These devices produce with a main purpose of creating sha256d hashes which are ASIC's

We could say it is a scam, if there is no way to know, how the developer is actually skimming your hashes off and directing to his own pool.
I strongly recommend you to mine with advanced ASIC's to make it Legit.

Every Free mining application in the internet are totally fake and scam OP are wasting time money and also effort for doing a fake mining its so hard to mine in the tablet or smart phone if I to you stop that stupid thing if you really want to mine bitcoin or other altcoin buy a mining equipment but it cost so high but it will give you a good return.

I looked a bit here and there in the internet but i couldn't find website that said anything about mining through mobile app. Even if it is possible, I don't think it is profitable enough. I think it is good to mine from PC or even better money it directly.

The best mining for now is  using hardware of gpu, but the app of tablet is possible because of technology of bitcoins, many case in mining is use gpu not popular an apps to mining btc. in next next year no matter what happen the technology of mining is possible an app and not to gpu too.

Here we go, once again,...
No, it's very, very unwise to mine bitcoins with your GPU, your CPU, your phone's GPU, your phone's CPU, a tablet, a supercomputer, your fridge, pen and paper,...
There are devices being produced that have the sole purpose of creating sha256d hashes, they're called ASIC's (they should be called sha256d ASIC's, since the term ASIC in itself is also applicable in other branches).
These ASIC's are so efficient, they pushed the difficulty so high it's impossible to make any money mining anything but the latest gen ASIC.

Don't belief me, here are the calculations for some CPU/GPU's => https://www.mocacinno.com/nonspecialisedmininghardware.php

Idk but i found it on my facebook home, he just use unused tab for mine.. and it's free he said

This, i can believe... This is not bitcoin mining, but altcoin mining. Monero is known to be CPU minable, however, personally, i wouldn't risk breaking my phone for a couple of bucks a month.
It is hard to do and I think spent more time and our phone can maybe over heat and there is a possibility to break our phone than using our computer to mine. I think if you gave a computer shop you can mine them all if there is no player playing but consume more electricity so it is better to mine if we have a free electricity or maybe if we have solar.

Mining in tablet is not possible, As all of us know doing mining in well set GPU is not possible. It take cooler to cool the heat produced by the process. If the Mining process is done in tablet means, it will burst due to over heating process. My suggestion for you is avoid of doing Mining in tablet.

Most probably that application is a scam app, it will ask you to pay for something in order to continue with their service.
It is impossible for a tablet to mine bitcoin. ASIC miners are the only device nowadays that can profitably mine bitcoin.

It's probably a scam as there's no way to know if the developer is actually skimming your hashes off the top and sending them to his own pool. But if it isn't then it's still probably not worth it since you'd eventually wear out your hardware or the cost of electricity would be more than the money you'd make.

So if you got devices you don't care about and free power, you might be able to make a couple pennies  Wink

Probably. You would just destroy your tablets hardware as the tablet is not made for mining and for heavy games. If it can't even run a heavy video game you should not mine, simply because its not profitable. You can try mining on browser, but i suggest you to use a old pc that is nearly dead. Otherwise if you would use your main pc it would die soon then expected. Maybe after a few years if phones/tablets can run heavy graphical games it than maybe could mine, but still its a tablet not a pc thats like a ferrari.

We can't say it is scam but the reward will be very very less if you mine through mobile just do some research about mining the you will realize we need powerful computers to mine and to get good rewards we can't expect the same reward through a mobile which is designed to perform simple operations like apps and playing games.
It is possible some altcoins with the small devices like mobile or tablet but most of cloud mining and these kind of application oriented mining options are not legit and they will scam once they get into the site and they will send a mbtc at least to receive the mined bitcoins. Please be aware of scam sites.

It will really be impossible for a tablet to mine bitcoin, even GPUs are not profitable if you will use it to mine bitcoin. You have to verify it first if that application don't have any malwares just to make sure, or maybe they will ask you to do some payments first and will eventually scam you.

Yes, it's monero, altcoin mining. But the risk to break your phone due to over heat and push the cpu, it's not worth.
People can't mine bitcoin easily through CPU, GPU, browser phone or tablet as it's not profitable and not worth at all compare to the risk, you need real hardware such as antminer s9 to mining bitcoin. Just simply like that.

I have heard that there are some apps that allow you to mine with your mobile or tablet, but I haven't seen or try any. Friend of mine have tried a mobile app, and from what he said it was legit. He was able to mine some small amount, but because it was too low amount he quited fast. I would suggest to you, don't waste your time and resources on that. It is just waste of time, or you can try it and see for your self.

I think many android devices actually mine, but without knowledge of their owners - botnets
There's no known Android mining botnet that is operational. But if there is, you most likely can't get it on your device provided that you use trusted sources for apps such as Google Play. Unless you download some app that manages to slip through Google's checks. There was a botnet with over 300 Play Store apps that was taken down in August.

And to answer OPs question, there probably are some mining apps for android that are legit. You will kill your device and NEVER make anything by using them.

That's actually very interesting! Botnets are dead... mmm

I think if he mines Electroneum then I should say I guess it’s legit since there is also altcoins that also requires android phone or ios, because if we push to mine coins that needs to have huge capital then that is hard since mining is really expensive to have.

So try and tell us if it is available, then why is it illegal. The only drawback is that it can be pirated, then of course very scant and limited not worth any attention.

I think you can mine bitcoin on tablet but consider the consequences when mining bitcoin, it consumes so much energy of your tablet, like in computer which is also plug into the electricity if you really want to mine on your tablet and charge it while mining there's a tendency that your tablet will explode or be broken. That's why mining is not applicable in tablets or smartphones although many apps in google play that say's you can mine bitcoin using your phone just read the reviews on it before you try that app so that your time wont be wasted installing that app. Grin

Thank you guys for your ideas.

You are missing a few key points.

1) Are they saying they are using your phones power to mine?
2) Are they selling cloud mining?
3) Is it just a game?

If 1 is the answer then it is a lie. This does not exist yet.
If 2 is the answer then it is most likely a scam. (even reputable companies in the past turned out to be scams) Just be careful
If 3 is the answer then it probably is legit.

you are in the bitcoin mining subforum, so i'll give a bitcoin mining answer: No, you cannot mine bitcoin with a tablet

Here's proof: https://www.mocacinno.com/nonspecialisedmininghardware.php
The cortex'es, allwinner's and atoms are cpu's that are commonly used in tablets... If you look at the yearly revenue, you'll see that even with an eletricity price of 5 cents/kwh, you'll lose more money in power bills than you'll ever make while mining... Let alone the fact that you can break your hardware

There are some altcoins that can be mined using a cpu/gpu, but even then, i don't think it's a wise idear to mine them on your tablet... I don't think a tablet has an efficient way of dealing with the heat that comes from a 100% cpu load over a prolonged time. In other words, even if you try to mine a coin like monero, you're probably much better off mining it on a recent desktop than mining it on a laptop, and certainly better off than using a tablet.

Thank you so much for that clear information.
