I just had a look at the Philippine downloads of MultiBit.  There have been about 40 so far in July. (Probably catalysed by the recent meetup in Manila).

There are about 600 phrases to localise in MultiBit so if a few of that 40 helped out it would be done pretty quickly. The base language is English.

Hi mscharleneb,

There is no bounty for the translation work no.
Everything in MultiBit is open source and people can download it for free.

The main reason to contribute translations is that you want to have it running in your native language for you and your fellow speakers.

Cheers

Hi there,
how are you?
Is there a bounty for your translators?

I have added Tagalog as a target language to the MultiBit translation site (http://translate.multibit.org).

If you are Filipino and interested in translating MultiBit into your mother tongue please head over and sign up for an account.

I'm sure companies like Western Union do a lot of trade with the Philippines in the form of remittances. There is also a Bitcoin meetup in Manila next month (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=27736.180) so I wanted to add it.
