Update from Tagcash.com

We are progressing nicely with our plans to morph the TAG platform into something similar to WeChat in China. The upgraded Android app will be going out as beta in the next few days, which offers chat and money transfer via chat. We are building Moments into the app (a simpler version to share photos and status updates with Friends), and making a lot of design changes to improve speed and functionality. Airtime load purchases are rising. and we also offer Bills Payment services via ECPay and SafePay Delivery Services via XEND. We will be adding numerous services to the mobile app over the coming months, and all of these offer Tagcoin as a reward to use us to buy, or to use Tagcoin to pay for the services. (For example, Tagcoin is given out at 1% rebate for any purchase of airtime load). If you want to see an interactive mockup  of the app, here it is in iPlotz.

http://iplotz.com/app/viewernew.php?k=79fc4124d2e55dd3a9dcb6e4baac288e&pr=143676&pg=143676_143676_7_19_21_86&a=6050&sitemap=true

Merchants can post Tagvert Ads on the mobile app, and advertising credits can be paid using Tagcash ewallet or Tagcoin. They can also offer Tagcoin as a reward to share the ads to friends, or directly as a reward to buy products and services from them.

We have also built an offline NFC payment system using Android Mobile Devices, and will be marketing this into transport and retail here in the Philippines. NFC cards and wristbands can hold up to 30 different wallets, including Tagcoin. We are partnering with major companies so this system can be used for example to pay Macdonalds with Pesos and earn rewards at the same time, with no need for internet access. We will be marketing Tagcoin rewards as an alternative to the usual points they may offer.

Within the Tagcoin wallet on Tagcash, there is a "Buy and Sell Tagcoin" tab which is for tagcash customers (and ourselves) to buy and sell Tagcoin for Pesos. If anyone outside of the Philippines wants to trade, they can deposit Bitcoin into the Peso Wallet (it will be converted at Bitstamp rates), and offer to buy Tagcoin with Pesos. If selling tagcoin, this can be deposited and sold for Pesos, which can be converted and withdrawn as Bitcoin (less a 3% withdrawal fee). There are no transaction costs. Tagcash will also be offered various services that might be useful to foreign based companies who want to pay local Filipinos in Pesos, or they can pay using Tagcash for services they may already use here. (Programming, website development, BPO services, blogging, writing etc)

BTC38.com is quite active in trading of Tagcoin, and is where I personally buy Tagcoin, untill more Filipinos sell their rewards on the Tagcash site. At some point, we will start looking at China as a market to push our app. or we will partner with companies there to make more use of Tagcoin as a rewards mechanism.

That's all for now, will update every few weeks as needed.

@tagbond, care to comment here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/new-alt-coin-for-election-purposes-next-time-1339408

It's off-topic in this thread, but I think you'd have some perspective and experience on it.

@Dabs - We are not putting up purchase of TAG with BTC at the moment, although we may in the near future. It will be via Pesos, where Pesos can be deposited via the bank or 7-eleven.

I forgot to add that we will be paying out 1% reward for any load purchased through Tagcash in Tagcoin, deposited to your account as soon as you buy load. If anyone wants to be a load reseller, we also give 3% discount, and it can be sold via SMS, the Tagcash Mobile app or the Tagcash website. But no Tagcoin given to resellers..just the discount..Wink

@Lutzow - You can also deposit directly into Tagcash using Bitcoin, it will just convert at Bitstamp rates, and then you can go ahead and pay bills, transfer to each other, pay for services and withdraw to a Security Bank Mastercard/ATM card. As for purchases via Tagcoin, you will be able to buy load, pay bills and pay for services we offer using Tagcoin, and if merchants are giving out Tagcoin as affiliate rewards or direct rewards, then they may offer to take Tagcoin as payment - otherwise they will have to buy on the marketplace just like anyone else. As Tagcash sells more load directly to the public we ourselves have to buy more as well. so I think the price will rise. It depends how much we can buy on the Chinese sites or locally from Filipinos willing to sell their Tagcoin.

This is great to bring bitcoins and altcoins further into the country. At the moment, most uses coins.ph in converting peso-btc and vice versa due to numerous ways of buying bitcoins e.g normal deposit thru banks, online banking and even cardless withdrawal via Security Bank.

One thing that I do hope is for such company to partner with big online merchants like Lazada, Metrodeal, etc which allows bitcoin or other coins to as a mode of payment probably via own gateway or using gourl.

Tagcoin is cheap so it could be easily adopted here in the Philippines so increasing its usability is definitely a way to go. Good luck Smiley

I have been out of Bitcointalk for a while, and coming back have only just discovered the Philippines forum (thanks to Dabs). Just wanted to updated anyone who is interested in what we are doing.

You might have heard of Tagcash -  an ewallet system to transfer money domesticaly, buy load, pay bills, and pay merchants on the platform. You can deposit into the system using 7-Eleven, Bank (online or OTC), or Bitcoin. We convert Bitcoin at  market rates from bitstamp. Merchants can cash out to bank if they supply a matching DTI or SEC Certificate, or anyone can cash out to Bitcoin with a fee of 3% to withdraw. Foreign companies can use this to sell goods and services in Pesos, and cash out back to Bitcoin, which is usually converted immediately to their local currency into their own banks using Bitpay at an extra 1%. Local companies can use the payment system at costs of between 1 to 3% on withdrawal to bank, and it costs nothing to setup and takes a few seconds. Dragonpay is integrated into the platform, there are Pay, Pay and Reward, and Share and Reward buttons you can add to your website, or you can use the free API to integrate with apps and websites. We are overhauling the Android App, and adding chat/voip options for user to user or user to merchant - essentially we will be emulating WeChat in China.

I created Tagcoin cryptocurrency in November 2013 as a rewards currency, but we let it stabilize over the last year before bringing it  into Tagcash. It is a PoW, PoS coin that makes 5% pa on PoS. Currently priced at 2.1 pesos, you can trade it on btc38 in china and on cryptsy (although how long cryptsy will last is anyone's guess). We are now building an exchange inside the wallet at Tagcash where you can buy and sell it for Pesos. Once your Tagcoin balance with Tagcash goes over 1000 coins, we also pay interest at 5%, paid monthly and calculated on average daily balance. You can have the option of moving the interest to the Tagcoin wallet with Tagcash, or into the Peso wallet. You will be able to pay bills, buy load and pay for other services using the Tagcoin Wallet, and there may be merchants that take payments in Tagcoin because they need them to give out as rewards. At any time you can withdraw or deposit directly to or from your own Desktop Wallet (windows, linux and mac versions available)

We are using Tagcoin inside Tagcash as a rewards currency. Merchants can give Tagcoin as part of their marketing -eg: get a coupon on Tagcash for half price meal and get some Tagcoin when the coupon is redeemed. We are also using it as an affiliate rewards currency. eg: Share that same restaurant coupon with your friends on facebook, and if they take the coupon to the restaurant and have it redeemed, the sharer gets rewarded in Tagcoin. Merchants also have the option of advertising with our app, for location based deals, and the advertising credits can be bought with Tagcoin

Via the exchange inside Tagcash, merchants will need to buy stocks of Tagcoin to give out - if they buy at a lower price and give it out after the price rises then the perceived value to the end user is more. As we grow, the demand for Tagcoin will grow as well, so the price will naturally rise.

Tagcash is based in Makati, and our products are Philippines focused at the moment, but the platform can be used by foreign companies as reward system. Time will tell if it grows outside of the Philippines. Tagcoin is traded mostly in China at the moment on BTC38 so if we expand to China at least people have  way of trading it there.

You can chat to me via this forum or via Facebook, or meet up the first Wednesday of the month at the TAG Mixer in Makati, details are on facebook and posted to most groups to do with Bitcoin, FinTech and startups.

We don't own the coin, we just created it, and it was a fair premine so I have to buy it on the open market just like anybody else. If the crypto community want to embrace it as a coin for the Philippines then that would be great..Smiley

Cheers
