drive people to other forums.

It will only happen if the sig's are removed in the new one. No matter what design it has. Smiley

Epochtalk already supports theming and a dark theme is on the list as well.

Thank god !
Make it default Wink

I used a global Firefox Greasemonkey color script for the web.
And i tried to port a color mod script for XDA forums for this one but it turned out badly.

This is what my global web color scripting looks like right now.. using "Midnight Surfing - Global Dark Style"
Would be good to make a forum theme like that sort of.
Some colors on me don't show though..
In my pic i added i was responding back to that guy i can't see color Green ever here.

TRUMP IS DOING THE BEST! MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!
As opposed to what others are saying, I like it.
This forum does need a new colour scheme and layout.
It does say child board in some parts still.  Cheesy

As long as we can get a different color scheme. Red/Orange/Yellow spectrum can be pretty irritating over time, so i hope we get a grey or blue color set instead. Would be nice if we could just customize the color grading with a RGB system or just a couples of presets that are easier on sensible eyes.
Any change is good for progress. Just have to get use to it no matter what the change and it will grow on you.
Or make a customizable interface if possible would please everybody here. I think this would be possible since google offers this for their services so why not here.

Don't this have some issues when it comes to member's signature? like sizes, images or so..
I can see its somehow like xenforo where as far as i know signature links aren't picked up by search engines.

The design isn't final.

Exactly.  Styling the forum is one of the easier things to do - and it is usually done last.

Don't worry - the powers that be will not release something ugly and drive people to other forums.

Custom stylesheets and/or Stylish is easy to make and use.

Yeah i'm not big on that scheme. I think having color scheme presets so the user can customize the colors would be nice.

I find yellow tones to orange pretty grating. Its hard to explain.
Apparently something to do with how many color chrome the person has in their eyes (2, 3 or 4). Meaning a good % of people would get irritated by the color yellow, orange etc, like bees. These people tend to lean toward blue, purple colors.

I really liked it, looking forward for it! The design and the color selection is very good. I want to know how the ads will show up though.

(gotta love the "two weeks™)

Looking nice, thanks dev. I think the orange is ok, the bitcoin logo is orange, this is a bitcoin forum. The colour theme can be skinned, not big problem. Security and bug free should be top priority.

Learning the troll avoidance button :)
He was just being sarcastic me thinks. As of yet, we don't have an official ETA.

Just a tad your not at BFL levels by far as there is coding going on and testing was just teasing  Wink
(Guess BFL references are getting old mumbles must be becoming a vet)

Thanks for the response and actually migration would take more than two-weeks I presume, I am not sure of the process but am guessing that users would migrate to new forum as the old forum has a shutdown date and then it would be replaced by the new design on the main page.

(Unless their is a classic mode for people who like the old Skins but don't like the new design)
Then it would be change skin --> done at transition with all the adopted features of the new forum.

The design has changed a bit since those images were taken. However, the theming engine is should be almost done by now.

I'ld say that it should be at least in an open Beta by the time of the halving.

Thanks I'll look forward to the Open Beta roughly by Halving
Roughly 9 months and 3 weeks for those that track these things

What does the "Estimated time for release: 2 weeks" entail? Is that how long bitcointalk users will have to wait for the migration?

When we was saying that the forum design suck and don't look pretty good , we got told that this is more then likely not the last changes on the forum and there will be more so it shouldn't look like this , so are you sure that the screenshots you posted are from the final version ? Because if it's the case then I will be more then dissapointed and this is definitely not the work of a 1.5 million dollar forum .

I haven't been keeping up with the developments either was wondering though if we had a rough idea of where we are now in the development cycle and how much longer it will take, seeing how this has been an ongoing topic for a damn long time, I was wondering if we are going to be done before the next Bitcoin halving.

While I haven't been watching development lately, Epochtalk isn't Bitcointalk. Epochtalk is the generic name for the new forum software Bitcointalk commissioned. For an apt comparison, Epochtalk is like Default SMF. Once the work is done creating the backbone, Bitcointalk will be built onto it. What you are seeing there is the default that anyone will be able to take and customize to make their own forum. The orange isn't a theme, its just a placeholder. Styling work will be done last or near last.

Do you have to use an orange skin? I think most folks like the blue grey of the current forum, easy on the eyes. Or at least give users the option to switch skins.

I dont develop the software so I dont have any idea.
You might create a issue here https://github.com/epochtalk/epochtalk/issues to allow theme color change on a per user basis.
