I agree, better to not install 3rd party apps on my mobile phone at all.
You can install it on the Firefox mobile app. And I would say they can be trusted.

is there any metamask alike app to be saver on mobile phone internet?

There are android browsers that allow you to install extensions, but I've never used them.  I don't know if I'd install MetaMask on some random browser I download off the playstore.  And, be very careful; MetaMask does not have a mobile app.  Not long ago there was scam app on the play store that was imitating MetaMask.  I stupidly installed it on my phone and lost a tiny bit of ethereum.

Be safe.

So I would strongly advise all to install this MetaMask crome extention to your chrome browser in order to avoid logging phishing sites.

Gonna vouch this metamask, I'm glad to have this chrome extension because it helps me to avoid phishing sites. There are many times metamask appears when some links was directed to fake/scam exchange sites. I hope that metamask also have an access to different exchanges, not only on DEX so we can import our wallets to a high-class exchanges without worrying.

Metamask is becoming a standard and it will start to get used even more now that supports tokens. It's probably one the safest way to create transactions while on a web page, since it's clearly showing what is happening. Highly recommended  Smiley

Hell yeah, they all use _ in their usernames. Why they all use _ in their usernames?

I would like to preemptively plead not guilty Grin

All you can do is keep reporting them. They're easy to spot with the naming formatting. I've nuked probably 50+ today, but this is just one of those issues were going to have to manually deal with by users reporting them until measures are put in place to prevent them. All new users being shadow-banned until white-listed by staff would at least stop them from showing up and being a nuisance and at least theymos put that suggestion into the "maybe" pile so maybe it will be implemented one day.
Hell yeah, they all use _ in their usernames. Why they all use _ in their usernames? I think "maybe" list of theymos is now pilled up heavily and even he couldn't find out what should I do next. He is also a human being.

It's a false positive, I didn't report that post. Automated lists still need a manual review.

Next time I'll add a link to the post history, to make it faster.

I'm not a tech guy, but there are so many members having knowledge about how to avoid this kind of attacks in the first place. This is the second time during this week and is there any loopholes in the bitcointalk security system? Can you guys backtrace and found the people who're behind this.

I think @theymos or any staff member, we owe a hearing from you guys?

For those who didn’t see this thread before now, the link was “ my wallet ether.com” (without spaces). This site is a phishing site (for google search results).

You should not see this link on the forum anymore because it will automatically be changed to a warning of a phishing link.

Lack of right information at the right place is the biggest drawback of crypto world. If a user had the right information, he would know that ETH wallets don't require users to enter their private keys for updates, especially a browser wallet. Do you think we can have a sticky link in BTT menu bar itself, which has all the security related and general tips about wallets and chains in a point wise simple language? Nothing technical, just plain simple points.

Is it just the link in Geraldo's screenshot? If not, can you PM me the phishing link(s)? I'll restart my continuous patrol downloads, so I can catch them quickly.
Yes, so far that's the only link I've seen from all.

I saw a bunch of them again. At first, I thought they copied what Lafu has on the main post, but since all of the new post has /], it's likely (the link automatically changes to https:// www.[phishing]) made by theymos to avoid the phishing link.

Gonna vouch this metamask, I'm glad to have this chrome extension because it helps me to avoid phishing sites.

It is good practice to just stop clicking on links. Bookmark your exchanges/MEW/etc. and only visit them from your saved bookmarks or manually entering the address.

I can't disagree with anything you said, but having an extra measure of safety is not a bad idea.  I too recommend the MetaMask chrome extension.

Thanks for the info. Those who are going to fall for this easily are those who dont know about the numerous phishing method that people have tried since the advent of myetherwallet as a web wallet. There are some measures that I take to prevent such events and would advice them anyone who is a novice to Ethereum wallets:
1. Bookmark the original myetherwallet website so you dont fall for clones. Do not click on links from known people.
2. Check the security certificates (though they can be cloned as well)
3. Learn how you can run MEW offline.
4. Install the metamask addon on Chrome.
5. If you have invested in a lot ERC20 tokens and Ether, you should get a hardware wallet to keep everything safe.

I thought indeed looking at the SSL certificate was a pretty safe bet, but indeed there have been pushing website using them as well. Well cannot be careful enough when you are typing sensible information nowadays.

They are also scamming on other platfroms be safe

I got this message on my telegram today!!

Due to the complexity of the Bomb and the increased risk of hacking, we pushed a rather drastic update that implements a number of changes and improvements, including enhancement of efficiency and scalability of the blockchain, acceleration of transaction speed, and additional security in the form new formats private keys which will help protect users against hacking.

If you are using private key or UTC, then you need to go into the wallet and update manually, otherwise they risk being unprotected.

How do i update my Ethereum wallet?

1. Go to our website ( here was the phishing site its mywalletether instade of myetherwallet )

2. Unlock your wallet using your Keystore File (UTC / JSON) or simply use your private key.

3. Click Unlock and wait for the update.

Please note that you need to manually update your wallet, failure to do so may result in funds being lost.

We are taking these measures to protect both you and our network from phishing and malicious attacks.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding!
MyEtherWallet Security Team.

So anyway, I applied as a merit source :)

Take Care !

If you see or get any Link to update the Ethereum Wallet at :

https://www.myetherwallet.com/  <---------------  right Link orginal site !

https://www.[phishing]     <-----------------  Wrong Link and phishing site , Layout and Login is the same as from the Orginal !

Great work OP. I think it's better to put phishing link with the following way to avoid users clicking that link

Code:
[b]https://www.[phishing][/b]     <-----------------  Wrong Link phishing site

I have been warned by "MetaMask" When I clicked that phishing link.

So I would strongly advise all to install this MetaMask crome extention to your chrome browser in order to avoid logging phishing sites.

They bumped an old thread. I fell into one of those threads.Cry. My bad, I didn't realize that the thread that I comment on is a bit old thread (one month ago). But what's making me upset is newbs that post a suspicious link bumped the thread.
