It was the Bitcointalk forum that inspired us to create Bitcointalksearch.org - Bitcointalk is an excellent site that should be the default page for anybody dealing in cryptocurrency, since it is a virtual gold-mine of data. However, our experience and user feedback led us create our site; Bitcointalk's search is slow, and difficult to get the results you need, because you need to log in first to find anything useful - furthermore, there are rate limiters for their search functionality.
The aim of our project is to create a faster website that yields more results and faster without having to create an account and eliminate the need to log in - your personal data, therefore, will never be in jeopardy since we are not asking for any of your data and you don't need to provide them to use our site with all of its capabilities.
We created this website with the sole purpose of users being able to search quickly and efficiently in the field of cryptocurrency so they will have access to the latest and most accurate information and thereby assisting the crypto-community at large.

There are plenty of Brand new accounts posting that Phishing Link. I started reporting the post of the ff users listed below earlier, but there are more of them. (I'll continue editing this list) Is it just the link in Geraldo's screenshot? If not, can you PM me the phishing link(s)? I'll restart my continuous patrol downloads, so I can catch them quickly.I saw a bunch of them again. At first, I thought they copied what Lafu has on the main post, but since all of the new post has /], it's likely (the link automatically changes to https:// www.[phishing]) made by theymos to avoid the phishing link. Ex. (It's okay to quote it since the link isn't there anymore) 1. Go to our website /]MyEtherWallet.com Code: 1. These people are mostly new members, engaged for their own purposes, but they do not know bitcointalk is a community where people can provide information to fraudsters. Stop shitposting with wall-quotes and don't post phishing links. September 06, 2018, 11:58:03 AM

Gonna vouch this metamask, I'm glad to have this chrome extension because it helps me to avoid phishing sites. It is good practice to just stop clicking on links. Bookmark your exchanges/MEW/etc. and only visit them from your saved bookmarks or manually entering the address. I can't disagree with anything you said, but having an extra measure of safety is not a bad idea. I too recommend the MetaMask chrome extension. September 06, 2018, 11:30:03 AM

snip snipSo I would strongly advise all to install this MetaMask crome extention to your chrome browser in order to avoid logging phishing sites. Metamask is becoming a standard and it will start to get used even more now that supports tokens. It's probably one the safest way to create transactions while on a web page, since it's clearly showing what is happening. Highly recommended September 06, 2018, 08:15:46 AM

Thanks for the info. Those who are going to fall for this easily are those who dont know about the numerous phishing method that people have tried since the advent of myetherwallet as a web wallet. There are some measures that I take to prevent such events and would advice them anyone who is a novice to Ethereum wallets: 1. Bookmark the original myetherwallet website so you dont fall for clones. Do not click on links from known people. 2. Check the security certificates (though they can be cloned as well) 3. Learn how you can run MEW offline. 4. Install the metamask addon on Chrome. 5. If you have invested in a lot ERC20 tokens and Ether, you should get a hardware wallet to keep everything safe. I thought indeed looking at the SSL certificate was a pretty safe bet, but indeed there have been pushing website using them as well. Well cannot be careful enough when you are typing sensible information nowadays. September 06, 2018, 07:50:36 AM
Another flood of posts with phishing links since ~30 minutes ongoing - Reported already 100+ posts. Apparently the flood of spamer does not break off. Found 5 new ones in the last minutes and reported it. At least there phishing link doesn't seem to work anymore when they post. September 06, 2018, 07:32:11 AM

I got this message on my telegram today!! Due to the complexity of the Bomb and the increased risk of hacking, we pushed a rather drastic update that implements a number of changes and improvements, including enhancement of efficiency and scalability of the blockchain, acceleration of transaction speed, and additional security in the form new formats private keys which will help protect users against hacking. If you are using private key or UTC, then you need to go into the wallet and update manually, otherwise they risk being unprotected. How do i update my Ethereum wallet? 1. Go to our website ( here was the phishing site its mywalletether instade of myetherwallet ) 2. Unlock your wallet using your Keystore File (UTC / JSON) or simply use your private key. 3. Click Unlock and wait for the update. Please note that you need to manually update your wallet, failure to do so may result in funds being lost. We are taking these measures to protect both you and our network from phishing and malicious attacks. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding! MyEtherWallet Security Team.
