When I first started posting with images on Bitcoin forum I used to link images from "Photo Uploader Imgur" and post images on forums. After using TalkImg and posting directly, I became this TaIkImg lover. But TaIkImg is having problems for several days, I can't link any picture, so I'm starting to use "Photo Uploader Imgur" to link pictures, but you can use it for your convenience. If you use it, "Photo Uploader Imgur" from Play Store. You can solve your current problem by downloading the app.
Theres a problem of imgur images using in this forum, better to use image h hosting like imgbb, or postimages. I saw your recent post images are using imgbb and that's good and confused why you recommends using imgur instead. Besides that having an app, means you used mobile app, well, it's good for convenience purposes but it's not good for privacy knowing imgur has lots of shared cookies to its ad partners.

Mine is actually opening but I think the maintenance you are referring to was days ago, however you cannot do anything or upload picture because they are requesting for a login before using there services, so that means that if someone has not created account with them will have to do that before they would be allowed to upload, however I don't no the reason why they decided to do that but considering some other sites someone could use without doing any registration they should have still stick to their non registration method because for this few days I believe they have lost a lot and most people are using other site now.

I think it's just a strategy to prevent people from flooding the site as maintenance is going on. I read on the ANN thread this morning and developer assured that he has no intention of collecting any user data.

Though it doesn't add up because from my Statement earlier I mentioned that they were still asking for registration after the maintenance, so if the registration was a means to prevent people from flooding there site during the maintenance they would have removed it after the maintenance but instead it was just the way it is, perhaps what the developer is talking about is document verification because we no that anything collection of data is mostly kyc so that's what I believe they were referring to and not for the registration.

I thought from the start place that the developers of this image hosting sites are from bitcointalk or understand the need for someone's privacy and anonymity in cryptocurrency, the moment they initiates this request for users registration, then many will back off from them just as the way we all left the use of imgur at once and they lose the number of reasonable traffic generated from this forum users, but as some have already said, maybe it was base on a temporary maintenance.

Another discussion on it in talkimg and both threads don't need to be created.

Discussions on issues of talkimg.com website can be discussed in their service announcement thread.
TalkImg.com - Image hosting for BitcoinTalk [PAUSE IN UPLOADS]

Creating threads for discussion on a service in Beginners & Help is wrong too. If you don't want to discuss issues in their announcement thread, you can do it in Service discussion board, not Beginners & Help board.

I tried accessing talkimg but it doesn't load and JJ has replied on the ann thread so it is not fixed yet. You should just use different image hosting as of now before the talkimg is back. You should check the ann thread of talkimg for further information as to why it isn't accessible as of now. Imgur has problems so it cannot be used and I am not sure if you're aware but Imgur cannot be used started on year 2023 and you can check it on this thread https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/imgur-images-suddenly-became-invalid-5452415.

When TalkImg is not yet around, the majority of Bitcointalk users are using
Code:
https://imgur.com/
The community is glad that one respected member of the community created an image hosting dedicated for Bitcointalk users, Since it launched, I never used any other image hosting except TalkImg on Bitcointalk, although sometimes it encounter issues like right now, the site is not loading

There are several others one can use, perhaps if you find the time to read through the whole thread, you may be able to see a few other ones that other users have recommended.
Again, hope you realize you won’t be able to post any pictures on the forum just yet since you’re still on the newbie rank, except you buy yourself a Copper Membership, this helps to amplify the features of your account and give you certain privileges that newbies initially may not enjoy. You wait till you’ve ranked up to at least Jr Member rank.

I like Talkimg but I can not use it again because of the registration when there are other image hosting websites. I have moved to imgbb for now and look for a better one later that I can upload more than 1 image at once when I have the time. I guess what talkimg did recently may likely reduce their traffic. They should have find a better way solve the attack than this approach.
At first, I thought I was the only one who experienced the inconvenience on Talkimg, not until I started seeing other members complaining too. I also love the inconvenience that the site gives when uploading an image, I knew a few other sites that I used to make use of back the before I came across talkimg and since then that’s the one I’ve been using, and experiencing such an inconvenience made me feel pretty awful and had to go back to using other alternatives. Well I hope the issue in the site is resolved sooner.

Perhaps, forum doesn't longer support uploading images from other sources? I used like two different site to upload image but the image link keeps breaking after posting in the forum as it is shown in my op.
The forum supports uploading images from other sources but to upload images to the forum you have to give the correct direction to the image. If you can extract the BBcode of the image correctly then of course the forum accepts it and the image can be viewed.

I think the request for registration is just temporary and not really mandatory before making use of the site. I used imgur to upload image this morning but still not showing appropriately on the forum.
Currently imgur is having problems so you can use mgbb this instead of using it I hope there will be no more problems from here.

Thank you! I have read about the recent attacks on the site and how they're working tirelessly to get it fixed. I really applaud joker effort for the sake of the entire community.
I think you have been having this problem for a while you didn't know it today you just found out again anyway the problem is that Joker is trying hard to solve this problem a lot in the middle I saw it was fixed but after a while it became like before again the work is not finished yet when it is finished they will tell you it can be used let's see till then we wait and help them with their time so they can solve the problem quickly and recover.

Please refer me to appropriate thread concerning this case if there's any. I have checked but see none. Is the site broken down or there's upgrade going on? Is anyone facing the same challenge?
We have not been successful in extracting image links from Talkimg.com site since the first week of November. As a result of which we are forced to add any image to our post and we have to extract the link of that image from another site.

You can easily find links to your images from these sites that you want to add to your post.

If it is temporary, I will know and still continue to use it.
-snip-

Me too. I like the service, really easy to use (drop the image and there you go, with BBcode and everything), and I believe that by using it we are supporting the work of our friend joker_josue.

So I hope it is temporary too. Let's not get ahead of ourselves Wink

There are other image uploading websites. You can choose one from the ones that are listed here: Image uploading websites/ scripts for Bitcointalk users

You do not need to use imgur. It is long gone.

Other users had the same problem like you, check it on the ANN thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5450546.1020

After all you can use other hosting images like postingimages, imgvb etc.

I think you have to exercise patient the site is under maintenance, immediately you click the link you will see something like this SERVER UNDER MAINTENANCE - PAUSE IN UPLOADS so wait for the main time before uploading any image of somethings else

Thank you! I actually did not noticed the maintenance notification on the site before making this post.

TalkImg has their own thread in this forum [1], you can ask or find out things about TalkImg in their own thread. Then regarding the problem you are currently facing, as far as i know TalkImg does not require a login activity first to upload images. Moreover, TalkImg is currently under maintenance, just wait until the maintenance is finished. I think it will only take the next few hours.

I'm not aware of this new development until this morning while trying to upload some images to talkimg.com but it's requesting me to log in before I can perform any further action.

I can't find option to create account on the site and I don't remember creating one before. I don't know which email and password it's requesting.

I guess they still didn't sort out the issue they encounter so maybe for now best to use other image hosting sites if you want to upload images here.

Feel bad they didn't fix these issue and guess they are struggling to find solution to some problems occur. Talkimg.com is somehow the best site for these matters since I always find it more easy and to convenient to use compare to other image hosting sites. Hopefully they can solve everything and return the service in original form.
