We continue to experience evidence of faulty systems everyday and the poor masses always sufferes at the receiving end. Tanker collision with trucks have happened too many times and the major cause is the bad road we're using that's yet to be fixed and yet jam-packed with dozens of users.
This is no today's news, many similar incidents had happened so many times, this is the third one I've experienced but I know there could be many that had occurred before. The recent ones that happened at Eleme refinery road down to trailer pack destroyed lots of vehicles and human life were hurts and killed. It's really a painful thing.
Such tragic events shake our emotions and steps should be taken to prevent such incidents from happening again in the future. Government policy makers should conduct an inquiry into the accidents and investigate why such accidents are recurring. I think daytime heavy vehicles should not be allowed and driver's license should be re-examined to avoid more accidents.

The way bad news just full dis country now, me I don’t even understand again, na today I hear say flood happen for maiduguri again, i know say people go die for that one also, and properties have been destroyed already, make God just help dis our country. I sabi d place wey d accident happen because na d state I Dey currently, all those tanker drivers go just dey run anyone, even d ones wey carry petrol wey suppose Dey careful because of the nature of the load wey dem carry, Dey go just Dey run anyhow, Dey don’t even think anything can happen.

I no fit blame d government for dis event wey happen, because where d accident happen, d road Dey very Good, so I no go talk say na bad road cause d accident, is either reckless driving or maybe the driver slept off.

E fit be say the drivers slept off and another things be say the accident happen at night, or maybe them no see road clearly wey lead to them jamming each other in the dark. As I see videos of the incident, e no good to look with eyes with so many dead bodies and dead animals burnt down to their bones and skulls showing. This type of accident you no fit put blame on anybody for now because nobody knows wetin really lead to the collision and since na with fuel tanker, the thing just catch fire immediately come burn the people wey dey inside the vehicles. The thing na tragic incident and I pray say the thing no happen again and make drivers dey cautious when driving for night.
It is not right to leave such accidents only to luck as you said not to blame anyone for the accident. I think the government cannot escape its responsibility for this accident because the government of a country is constitutionally committed to ensure the safety of every citizen and the government should have restricted the movement of heavy vehicles during the day. In many countries, heavy vehicles are closed during the day when citizens have more traffic. In 2020 also many such accidents took place and many lives were lost there but the government did not learn any lesson from it due to which the incident repeated itself.

This is one thing about tanker and to me I think our government should restricts this people from moving at the day time, they should at night when there is no other vehicles moving at that time. It is very scary while they kept dragging roads and lanes with people at the day time, if they restricts to night only you would see the accident rate will decrease and will be saved. Most time when you see them at damage roads driving you will have mercy for other motor drivers or people who walks by the road because when such incident comes it surely affects everyone there that is closeby especially it will also ignite to house and building around there.
I agree with you. Open movement of goods vehicles should be allowed for a particular time at night otherwise such accidents will continue to happen. In many cities around the world, night time is reserved for goods transportation when the general population is less crowded. Most of the tragic accidents can be avoided through procedural changes and awareness. Also, there should be more scrutiny in the licensing of transport drivers and there should be an opportunity to review it through examination every year. Also, it is important to have a provision for cancellation of license through health examination considering the age of the drivers. Vehicles should be classified according to the skill of the drivers. Ensuring the safety of every citizen of a country should be the first priority of the government of that country and act accordingly.
Have you forgotten good roads?
Why the government aren't taking good records of bad roads across the state. If there is a good roads then the accident rate would also reduce and most of the accident caused at the time are all results of either bad roads or poor vehicle maintenance because people aren't cared about insurance of those vehicle rather they only cared about their goods and services to ship across the State.

God have mercy on us.very sad news RIP for those who died on the accident we always here bad News every day instead of good news I think the accident was caused by the bad road or the road will be very small for fuel tankers to pass. The government should try constructing roads for this taker not only for tankers both trailers that carry heavy load
Tankers, trailers and tippers this vehicle are the One causing accident on the road and even damaging road

The year 2020 also saw a number of petrol tanker accidents in which at least 535 people were death and more than 1100 injured.

The administration should take more precautions to avoid tragic accidents.

Exactly the point, they should be stopped from plying the road in the day time, there movement should be in the night to avoid reoccurrence of this continues incident of explosion that always lead to loss of lives and properties, this tanker drivers are very reckless unless you have not come across them, although these kind of incidence are not predictable as such we can't actually predict the actual day or time such things will happen but we as humans can apply precautionary measure to avoid having more casuaties if such incidents eventually occurs.

Sometimes this tankers are the cause of the tanker explosion because they aren't ready to drive by guidelines, they feel they own the road once they are driving forgetting that they are conveying a highly inflammable substance that's capable of causing an unthinkable disaster in a twinkle of an eye, I think our government should come up with appropriate measures to tackle this, it has become a daily thing and it isn't funny again because many life are always involved when this kind of thing happens.

I don't know if the tanker drivers have been trained on basic safety tips to be followed while driving alongside commuters Because the level of impatience they have always exhibited while trying to overtake people at a very tight  corner is too bad. I still don't know how we find it comfortable that loads of tanker drivers that carries PMS will be using same root with passenger vehicles on a road that's very bad and some will pack loaded tankers by the road side knowing that any form of careless hit by drivers will result in blast that will lead to loss of numerous lives.
