Apparently, the owners of this forum couldn't solve the issue in 8 freakin years.  Angry

I mean the whole thing is like as if it was back in 2000.

Ridiculous.

Is there a convenient native way to view this forum on mobile?

I use my phone 80% of the time and it would be nice for users to have it viewable on their smartphones. Anyone else agree?

Tapatalk is fine but I think admins may be worried of opening the forum to security breaches if they were to enable the plugin for SMF.

Also not 100% sure if the current Bitcointalk version of SMF supports the Tapatalk Plugin.

To be honest if you browse to Bitcointalk with a browser on your smartphone it works just fine.

Well it's okayish on a phone, but far from ideal

I got Tapatalk on my phone a few weeks ago. When I saw that Bitcointalk wasn't one of the forums there it was disappointing. The app seems to be ok to me. I believe it should have some more quality forums added. Bitcointalk would be a welcome addition to Tapatalk if the forum was considering adding it here.

Well, as this thread has already been bumped from the dead - I think it should be reconsidered.
I have left this forum and came back twice now, and I come back still needing to boot up my PC to use it. I honestly think creating some sort of mobile version would be incredibly beneficial. It would obviously make life a lot easier, and as a result probably make the forum more active and even mean people may not leave if they have bad PC access.

Even if TapaTalk isn't used (I hate TapaTalk for its spammy nature when browsing without it, but it would be justified by the pain in the a** that is using this forum on a small screen), I think a simple mobile version should be made. I appreciate this is probably a lot of work (if you dont use TapaTalk), but I think the results would be worth it. I actually stumbled across the forum wallet today and it had something like BTC2 (this might be very wrong - I apologise if it is). With outgoings considered, could you even pay somebody? Or even a fundraiser? Not sure what I was banging on about there - not happening  Wink

I would like also to have this forum in my tapatalk.

The thing is it just sucks. It nagware as a lot of users tend to call it.

Being on the move a lot I love using my Phone to catch up with latest news. Sadly forums are pretty hard to navigate on small screens, but there is a nifty little app for iPhone and Android that makes it easy to navigate Forums and write posts: Tapatalk.

For this to work we'd need to add the SMF Tapatalk plugin to the Forum, and I was wondering whether there is interest from the other users and if it is possible that an admin could add it for us  Grin

Any comments?

I already use Tapatalk for bitsharestalk.org
I often don't read bitcointalk.org because there is no Tapatalk access. Sad

See the below quote.

The Tapatalk modification is a massive amount of code that is clearly messing with the security system. I don't have time to review all of this code, so I will not apply it.

There's a lot more custom code added into the forums since he posted that reply, so I'm guessing it'd be even worse now.  Seems unlikely that it will happen.

Theymos is right, their app is not secure, in every 2-3 month they update their app due to security problems.

Posted using my keyboard on my PC.

Lolz. ditto.

It does not add that, I post all the time using that plugin with other forums

It does by default.  You can easily turn it off though.

The user that uses this would leave it default, to make themselves think they look cool, because they are in a coffee shop using their mobile. If anything, "Posted using tapatalk on my phone" should be removed from the source if it ever gets implemented. No one needs to see this shit. No one cares where you're posting from.

I may be in the minority here, but I find it painfully annoying when I visit a forum from my mobile device and get the intrusive "This forum is iPhone native! Click OK to find out about Tapatalk!"

If you were to disable the pop-up, then +1...

I think the idea is nice, but their implementation is flawed...
I'm fairly sure it can be modified.
Although with SMF, I'm not going to say that too loud.

Another vote for TapaTalk capability.   Can we get a tipjar or collection going for this?

Being on the move a lot I love using my Phone to catch up with latest news. Sadly forums are pretty hard to navigate on small screens, but there is a nifty little app for iPhone and Android that makes it easy to navigate Forums and write posts: Tapatalk.

For this to work we'd need to add the SMF Tapatalk plugin to the Forum, and I was wondering whether there is interest from the other users and if it is possible that an admin could add it for us  Grin

Any comments?
