Bitcoin: An Idea Worth Spending

We seriously should tax all miners to save the planet. Do you realize how much resources, e.g. silicon sand and water, it takes to build bitcoin miners, not to mention the extraction from the Earth for all those resistors, capacitors and diodes, possibly from third world countries exploiting the poor with its cheap labor.

Please help save the planet by supporting this noble idea.

Hmm a few thousand miners... vs a few billion computers, phones, tablets, xboxes, and tvs sold every year.

Yes, tax them.

Yes, cheap labour is a serious problem. We must massively tax these companies, thereby ensuring that they have even less money to pay their workers. Um... oops?

First you have to explain your goal, and then explain how taxing miners will accomplish it.

End word hunger! Tax computer users! What?

Tax the Miners huh???

How about just recommending that the miners do their research on simply buying mining equipment from environmentally friendly/responsible companies.

The number one reason to use bitcoins is the deregulation of the currency. Imposing taxes requires regulation and Government involvement. More importantly if and when a Government agency imposes taxes who's to say those Governments will direct those new tax revenues towards environmental programs.

I have a better idea. Rather than tax bitcoin miners support and encourage more of them so that the amount of fiat paper cash and metal coin production gets reduced to save the environment. Do you realized how many resources are used to create a Dollar Bill? Better yet a Dollar Bill lasts less than an average of 18 months. Bitcoins, when produced, exists in the bitcoin economy forever.

Donate here if you like my idea or better yet like a tax and regulation free bitcoin network:

Donations made will go to solar panel and other environmentally friendly energy production so I can continue mining environmentally friendly bitcoin.
