Not going to be cryptocurrency because cryptocurrencies are created to be decentralized,XRP is technical like what we have in visa and mastercards, digital fiat system and nothing more,it doesnt qualify the standards of cryto,it has the banking structure of these banks  which makes it very centralized and can be controlled by the behind it.

Ripple, along with most other cryptos, has had a good rise these last few days. It does not seem to lack support of investors.

Right. The ripple price grows on the rise of all currencies. Only the ripple can fall as quickly as it grows. To pump and dump coin. In the ripple you can only invest on a short term.

Ripple can’t get listed on some exchanges because it is regarded as a security.
There is a possibility the price could crash in the future when regulation comes into play!
What they need to do is seek listing on the DOW!
If they did this the coins could be worth a lot of money if they did it fairly.

finally, after all that post I've read on bitcointalk, I find this topic that has the same point of view about ripple with me.
XRP is one of the biggest pump-dump coin for whales to get money but quick taking their money back.

Not a good investment,as it is being controlled by the few people it is worst that a fiat currency, which makes it very risky because its value is being dumped to hard by those peopl who has bags of supply,as it isnt going to be cryptocurrency it shouldnt be called as a crypto, because no cryprocurrencies should be controleld by anyone, and no cryptocurrency should have the banking system structure !

I'm very glad that now people ask such questions, because many people said that Ripple is not a crypto currency, people thought for a long time, but sooner or later it was going to happen, and now people are starting to ask about this, I can not say anything on this occasion, just do not buy this coin. This is just my opinion.

This is the main reason why i didnt support XRP from the start as it isnt going to be categorized as cryptocurrency because crytocurrencies should be decentralized, not being controlled by anyone as far as i know its value is being controlled by its founder and developers that is why its price would be the same over and over and not going to be profitable to have, centralized system and structure of the banks? looks more digital fiat.

I do not consider this coin for long-term investments, it is very good to trade in short. I think that more than once there will be papmas and the price may well return to December maximum in the region of 3 dollars, but it will be temporary, there is no future for it. It is not needed for the Ripple system, the value is 0.

Ripple for me is a centralized coin not a decentralized token it should be out. beware of this coin. There's a lot of coins that you can buy not this one, EOS, Litecoin, Ethereum,Iota,ADA,XEM they are the few ones that i treasure.

However, Ripple has been growing so well lately that at least a short time you can earn it with proper trading.

Yeah, and it will grow as it is supported by some national banks, so it is just a method to make crypto controlled by a government, thus giving the control over a financial sector back to banks.
It's OK to buy XRP for speculations only, but I don't understand why crypto community supports it. It contradicts all the values of the community, which has always been standing for blockchain for decentralization.

Ripple is a cryptocurrency, since it is a blockchain-based coin. However, it is different from most of them, because it is centralized. Thus, while ripple might grow in price from time to time, as it gets some contracts signed with partners, its long-term price growth cannot be predicted, because a regulated coin might eventually become a stable one, instead of having big price fluctuations. I agree that investments in ripple should be done with extreme caution because of this. This coin doesn't or isn't supposed to follow market's general tendencies.
I don't think ripple's success can be attributed to the value of the XRP token, contracts imply agreements to use ripple's flagship products - xCurrent and xVia, and they don't use XRP tokens. The price increase is due to the General mood of the market, a large number of traders with insufficient knowledge and understanding of the emerging market of cryptocurrencies and pump, which are periodically subjected to cryptocurrencies from the top-10.

Ripple does not have a classic blockchain at its core. It has a distributed database, but this database is not a technology of blockchain. In addition, the owners of the masternods are the founders of the Ripple project. This completely contradicts the idea of decentralization of the Crypto-currency.

Please I want to ask some questions. Based on your reasons why Ripple isn't a cryptocurrency, you mentioned it being a security now my question is does it mean all security tokens ain't cryptocurrency or its just only Ripple?

Yeah, for the short term. While the moral aspect of it says 'steer clear', the functional aspect says 'fastest international transactions at the lowest possible fees'. They targeted their entire marketing towards a B2B audience by only catering to banks and larger financial institutions and THEREFORE I, too, would agree it's a fantastic short-term hold. Hold while it makes all the new contracts with all ze big companies and as soon as you see a new company launching a product that's faster, SELL.
