My question:
How do I check for a deleted or archived thread or does it have a recycle bin or trash? Already explored it but not sure if I missed it.
Are there any feature in Telegram about deleting account? If so, does it will also delete our message thread once they delete their account?

I don't know if their such thing as archived section exists in Telegram for deleted threads. But since you have mentioned that the user is inactive for several months now, may I know how long it is?

IIRC, accounts that have 5 months or more being inactive in Telegram will automatically be nuked and if ever you have a conversation with these inactive accounts, the message thread will be deleted.

And if you noticed, there are users which named as "Deleted Account". There are still some of it on my Telegram inbox even their account is already deleted. So I will assume that some of them are still under the 5 months period before totally disappearing.

I usually see some "Deleted Account" in my Telegram so I assumed they are removed by Telegram when already inactive for some time. And messages within these accounts are already gone with the wind with no possibility of recovery especially if one is not technically inclined.

Just FYI, Telegram made a new feature called archived chats[1]. You need to swipe it left to move the chat to archived chats.
Not sure if this chat will still be kept even if somebody deleted it.

you can actually find answers to all your questions in Telegram FAQ, via your app or web
there is no such thing as "deleted or archived thread" in telegram... once deleted it's gone

sure is, you can delete/deactivate your account on this deactivation page
all messages connected to the account will be deleted on cloud side, but whatever copies on your side remains
however, a user can force delete all his messages (in group or 1-to-1 chat) before deactivating his account
that means he can delete his messages on your device too and leave no trace at all

i think there is a feature in telegram for deleting your own account but if they delete his account the message should remain like ss below

maybe he deleted his chatlog before he deleted his account because there is a feature in telegram to delete the message history also it will delete the message that he sent to you

Don't you think that their is a possibility that the one you are talking to is the one who deleted the messages? Since you don't have any idea how it got deleted in your end chances are the one who sent you the messages is the one who deleted the conversation and Telegram has that option to delete the conversation and/or certain messages on both ends of the convo. If you deleted it in your end then its a goner because its Telegram's way of keeping their app safe and secure.

OP mentioned that the user involved is inactive for several months so no way the other party can delete the thread. The message thread is kind of alive and active because OP still sending messages there.

So I asked OP how long it's inactive now because if it's 5 months or more, that account probably nuked together with the message thread.

I tried searching on google but it seems like there's no way to see all deleted messages/chat and all chats are stored locally in your phone.

I found some method but I don't recommend them because they will guide you to install the unknown app which is not safe.

Why don't you try to ask the admin of the group chat or the user who chat you to copy all conversation and send it to you? I'm sure they don't deleted them.

About deleting account there is a method from wiki how to delete or deactivate your telegram account you can follow it from here https://www.wikihow.tech/Delete-a-Telegram-Account-on-Android

And I think if you deactivate your telegram account it won't delete all chats because it stored locally(in your phone).

I'm digging my inbox then suddenly I noticed that a certain user removed on my list. Don't know if I accidentally archived it although I don't know how to do it or deleted it. The user is not active for several months now but I still sending him message hoping he can read it if ever he will decided to go back in Telegram. That's an ICO related issue and he is one of the admin of the group.

My question:

Not sure if Im on the right section. I will be happy to move it if advice. Thanks in advance.
