You should watch Doctor Who, it's a really great british show about an alien who travels around in space and time (it's more than this Grin)

Bro, Doctor Who is awesome.  From 1963 until today it is the longest running Sci-fi show on Earth.  From 1963 until today Doctor Who has been dazzling audiences with sharp writing, great characters, witty plots and effective design, even during its lean-budget years. But this show is not for everyone... you may find this series annoying, but first you must check it yourself.

house was the last good primetime/network tv show that i watched. everything else on cbs, nbc, abc, or fox is just pure trash. the storylines/characters are so rehashed and trite.. that the characters just don't feel real to me at all. it's like they use the same formula for every god damn arc. i don't understand how some people don't get tired of it?

You didn't like House? How is this even possible. Are you an alien or just high?

I want to throw out something a little different I have been enjoying lately.

A comedy about a group of friends going to a school in a satanic town on the search for an evil book. It's not an incredible show, but it is very charming and dark. Similar to the Weird Science series but with more metal, dick jokes, and cursing. It's on (american) Netflix.

I have heard Game of Thrones is good, have not watched it yet.

I liked Smallville.

There is also Corner Gas if you like dry Canadian humor(humour?).

And of course, The Office.

Game of Thrones is one of the best ever!

The Doctor!

Seconded. I started with the 2005 series, haven't had a chance to watch anything older than that.

Really? I've never heard anyone talk about it...  Maybe I'm missing the boats. I don't watch an awful lot of television. I thought it was fun. I didn't really like American Horror Story, but perhaps it becomes more interesting in the second season?

First season was very good also and I'm really enjoying third season, but the second one took me quite a few hours of sleep, it was marathon time, hehe.

Totally forgot, but Sherlock from the BBC is fantastic and all too clever.  And the new season is soon.. we'd all hope, at any rate.

Meh, way overrated!

American Horror Story, start with second season, it's really, really good!

Highly recommend Jericho if your into nuclear war & surviving it. (It's different to the normal type of Nuclear war series/film).

Trying this one, looks pretty good so far.

Meh, canceled after 1 season, then they made 7 eps extra to finish the story because the internets got angry.
The first season is pretty good. The second one, not so much.

Sure, and I enjoyed those extra episodes, better than nothing, but we end with the felling the plot was rushed.

Another great comedy show, IT Crowd, it's even better if you're a geek. Cheesy

Netflix shows are awesome and you don't have to wait for next week episode, 13 episodes available in the same day.

Start with House of Cards, it's really good!

Completely forgot about this, House of Cards is fantastic.

I don't really watch tv these days and the quality of programming has gone to shit; I at least have other things to keep myself occupied. But if you're looking for a comedy try It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. You have 9 seasons of it to go through. The first several seasons are great...I don't know if its on Netflix though.

hm? it's the golden age of tv.. if you're talking about network primtime tv shows, then yeah, they have gone to shit.

but on sundays there are some of the best shows ever.. breaking bad, game of thrones, shameless, boardwalk empire, eastbound and down to name a few.

Must it be comedy?

White Collar comes to mind.

Sounds awesome. I prefer shows with atleast 4-5 seasons aired , since I do not like waiting.
I am going to watch that.

It's excellent, the two main characters have excellent chemistry.
