Since you are asking us to tell you how to invest, I will tell you how. Buy Bitcoin. Just bitcoin. BTC. Nothing else.

there are 2 more coins that I think are good and are likely to follow developments in the price of Bitcoin,
Bitcoin Cash & Bitcoin SV these two Altcoins is Hardfork from Bitcoin, very good for investment in the next 5 to 10 years.

You are giving bad advice to a beginner. It would be worse than this only if you began to argue that forks are real Bitcoin. If you want bitcoin, buy the original bitcoin. If you do not want Bitcoin, it is very stupid to buy a fork of Bitcoin, in the hope that it will repeat the price fluctuations of the original Bitcoin. Even litecoin is more attractive for investment than forks of bitcoin (although it also has common roots with bitcoin).

Looking to invest $1000 in cryptocurrency. Could you tell me your suggestions about which cryptocurrency to invest in and what % ?
I was thinking maybe 50% bitcoin, and 5-10% in many other cryptocurrencies like XRP, Ethereum, Stellar, Cardano, etc.
Im curious why? What do you know about Bitcoin, what do you know about XRP, Ethereum, Stellar and Cardano?
How people can come to such weird ideas? No idea really. Do you look only on various price factors? News coverage? For sure not technology.
And the most important part of investing is knowing the business itself and the risks you're going to take. If you are willing to risk such amount of money inside this industry, you also need to invest your time and effort finding every single details that will help you become a successful investor.  You also need to consider the factors that will affect the coin that you will be buying as your asset.
Many investors have failed and end up very disappointed because they tend to rush things and not able to think properly resulting to unsuccessful investment.

You need to have a good combination of money management, emotional control and optimistic views inside the market that you are going to invest your money with.

If you don't know too much about how cryptocurrency market moves, I recommend to only invest it to Bitcoin, 100%. Altcoins' market is quite crazy for long term since they are too volatile thus riskier. On the other hand Bitcoin is more stable among them and almost all of altcoins are being affected when there is a sudden movement to Bitcoin.

People can give you a list of coins to invest but in the end, it's you who should decide on what coins to invest, this question has been asked so many times and this is a clear invitation for people to shill the coins they are holding or supporting don't take the advice right away check the accuracy of the information that the poster is giving you, and find out if the coin is just being shilled or the coin really has value in a long term.

Are you looking for a long term investment plan here? Then BTC is the most trusted cryptocurrency so far, if you plan to hodl your 1k worth of bitcoin for 10 years from now theres no doubt it can multiply your money to 5x-15x or even more based on the price history of bitcoin.

I will not be too original, for beginners in the crypt the word altcoin simply should not exist. Your investment amount is not too large to try to spray it into several directions, and since you are asking for advice here - just buy bitcoin (although if this forum was called for example noble_metals_talk.org - the advice might sound different, for example, "just buy palladium" or something like that). I think people have started to have the same thoughts about investing in cryptocurrency.  Cheesy

if you ask crypto users publicly, I think 80% of the members will provide the same information, which is to invest 100% in bitcoin.
Until now, so many people thought that the pump would start from Bitcoin before other altcoins, that's why many people recommend it. In addition, this year, crypto price increases are more dominant against bitcoin. it can happen anytime in the future.

Partially accurate but the fact is you will be surely invited on the hyips, I saw so many people referring hyips just to get the referral bonus and newbies should be aware on this since there is no true promise of profit we can get on them and all of them are placed just to scam those innocent people. Maybe it's best to learn the market volatility since it could lead us to the right path of proper investment.

Trading is one of the perfect example with that and it will became more profitable if we learn the strategies and watch the market flow.

You dont have to trade this money if you dont know about the trading. Trading is really complex and you need to teach about yourself, maybe 6 months maybe 1 year but you need to spare a lot of time to learn this.

There are 2 methods to invest apart from this:

1) Dividend shares: You can basically hold some tokens and get some juicy awards. You can find the dividend projects mostly on EOS blockchain. You can check the casinos and learn about how to do dividend and what will you gain. Some casinos give %10 daily profit, I use one of them, Bethash. You can withdraw your money daily, i think it's really profitable.

2) Staking: You can make stake just holding the tokens in your wallet, exchange wallet etc. I started to stake QTUM on Binance. You can also try other projects like NEO etc.

https://poslist.org/ Check here to learn projects stake awards ratios, rates, volume, score etc. Since I like the QTUM project, i invest in this project but you're free to do your own investment.

Since you are asking us to tell you how to invest, I will tell you how. Buy Bitcoin. Just bitcoin. BTC. Nothing else.

You buy anything else at much greater risk, whereas if you just buy BTC and hold it for the next 10 years (and send it to your own wallet, do not keep it on the exchange where you bought it) you'll probably be much better off than everyone else who tried with all those other coins you mentioned. Although the ones you did mention are all in the top 100 by market cap, so that may not be a bad thing.

At current rates, as of this post and this date, $1000 is about 0.1 BTC, there's no point buying any other alt if that's all your investing.

If you're in Canada as your name suggests, I know a few exchanges you can use, but unsolicited ref links are not allowed or frowned upon, so send me a PM and I'll give you one.

Always try to split your investment. Don't invest all your money in one coin so you will not be at risk. Always read about the coin on their official websites on which you are going to invest and make more profit from that coin.

Very bad idea. You think you're investing safely by "diversifying" your investments to other cryptocurrencies? Well, bitcoin drops, pretty much everything else drops with it, and mostly even harder. If you want to diversify go with other kinds of assets. Not assets that are somewhat correlated with bitcoin's price.

good plan, diversify to minimize risk is never wrong Smiley how about 50% BTC, 25% ETH, 25% BNB
but I strongly recommend you to do your own research before buying them
you may want to check the top 10 or 20 coins on coinmarketcap to choose from
welcome to the forum, happy investing and may luck always be on your side Cool

You will not be able to avoid the possibility of testing the waters on other coins before determining what coins should be worth to trade based on your preference. There is a chance that you might be wreck along the way.

Are you new to this crypto thing? If yes, then focus on BTC "for the meantime". Just jump on other altcoins once you understand how to play on those. We are just minimizing the risks since it's already a risk putting money on BTCitcoin.

I'll go with majority suggestion here. You're still new and the best option is to stick with bitcoin first and learn the fundamentals about the market, how it moves rapidly and how volatile it is.

And when you have learned a bit of it, I think you are good to extend your portfolio with those altcoins that you are eyeing.

Buy Bitcoin, but first spend time to understand what Bitcoin is and how to secure your coins properly. If you buy coins that will be worth a million USD 10 years from now it will not help you a bit if someone will steal them from you.

I would put a higher amount into altcoins because they are down a lot compared to bitcoin.  More money will start to move out of btc and into alts to increased gains.  Just avoid anything that is super low market cap and has low liquidity.

Now I see there's no good Altcoins to invest in. They dump so hard and get lower after everyday. Best choice is Bitcoin, invest in Bitcoin now and wait for the Bitcoin Halving 2020. From what Litecoin halving just did to its price recently months, we could believe that Bitcoin halving will do the same thign.

Depends on your investment period, how long do you intend to stay in the space (Crypto industry). If you're the type like myself that have decided to make it a life time investment I recommend you go all in with bitcoin. Currently bitcoin is trading below $10,000 which means you can get 0.1BTC or even more with that $1000 investment. By holding 0.1BTC you gain $100 on every $1000 bitcoin gain which is a decent ROI considering the altcoins you listed above have done badly in the recent months.

Another option would be, Instead of investing in XRP, Ethereum, Stellar, Cardano directly, you can used your gains from taking advantage of the volatile nature of bitcoin to invest in the altcoins of your choose. Example invest in bitcoin now, wait for it to peak around $12,000 take profit of $200 and invest although I don't consider any of the coins you listed above as a preferable investment choice.

The money I want to invest is for the long run, I'm not gonna try to make profit out of it before a couple of years. So this is why I was thinking about the other coins too, as you don't know which cheap coin could rise high in 5 years +

Since bitcoin dumped hard from yesterday you might invest on bitcoin right now. If you could hold long terms and if you have enough patience then you might invest some into altcoin. I will not encourage to invest all your fund in single coin. Who know which coin when will pump.  So if you spread your fund on multiple coins then you will not miss benefits if increase price any one.

If you're new to bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, I suggest doing a lot of reading first before actually putting money in. First rule of investing: do not invest in something that you don't understand. If you knew what you were going to invest in, you shouldn't really be asking these kinds of questions on what to invest in. You'd know yourself and you'd make your own decisions on which projects you think has a viable use-case and actually has a decent chance of being successful.

$1000 ?
If you are first time try to invest, i think you must invest all in Bitcoin. This time Bitcoin is dump, i think you can wait the price is ±$9000.
Buy Bitcoin with price +$10000 is only give small chance to profit in this year i think.

since you are a beginner i would advise you to stick to bitcoin only and forget about altcoins specially the coins that are known to be pump and dump coins like the ones you mentioned, because as a beginner you wouldn't be able to ride the manipulation process that these altcoins have and the chances of losing money is going to be pretty high for you.

You can invest all your money in bitcoin, that dumped deeply recent hours, and you have perfect opportunities to get cheap bitcoin. Buy it, and hold it at least till the end of 2020.

The second strategy is using 50% (or higher proportion) of your capital to invest in bitcoin, and use the rest of your capital (50% or lower) to invest in Ethereum. Holding them all till the end of 2020, at least.
