yes it is true. but actually there is not too much to say since we know Sinner is the number 1 Roll Eyes .
(just kidding of course)

6 king slams has been a nice experiment but something too fast for engaging a discussion on the forum.
Now there are just small tournaments, up to Paris Bercy.

I would suggest however to split discussions on this sport.
There are many tournaments, strategies, betting related events to tennis that can't be kept just in one thread.
My 2 satoshi

Yes I know how proud you are of Sinner! I'm a fan too.

Its Interesting you bring up the 6 kings slam, I opened a discussion on the Tennis
thread and nothing came back.

More interesting was the Ultimate Tennis Showdown (UTS) which I thought would
have some discussion especially as it is a different format, more trendy, lots of
music and a party atmosphere.

Is it just the discussion that has been switched off or has betting on Tennis also
died a death?
Maybe because many new players are not so well known on tennis so there are not many know the skill and their competence to bet or discuss it. I used to love tennis, I always watch when Maria Sharapova, Anna Kournikova, and Ana Ivanovic playing in the field. But after those girls no longer visible on the field I'm so lazy to watch this sport. If you see what I've favorite is, you will be able to guess how old me when love Steffi Graf also.

No, eventhough the new gen of players are in their early 20's they have generated
a lot of attention for themselves, they are well known, and everyone who has deserted
the Tennis thread already knows them.

Is it just the discussion that has been switched off or has betting on Tennis also
died a death?

I personally like Tennis as a sport but I am least interested in following every player for the sake of betting. Sports betting is now becoming more tougher than it was 5 years back. It is comparitably easier to bet on a team with higher/lesser odds than an individual. What I mean is it is easier when you are placing a bet on team, cause you know one or two, maybe three players of a team can change the outcome of a particular match. Whereas with tennis it is very hard to bet on a single individual performance, that is my understanding.

Yea it kind of makes sense but when betting on your football team with a few
players who can change the course of the game, so too does the other team!

With reference to the long running Tennis thread https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.64652295
after 9 years of activity it seems to have come to a grinding halt. There isnt any
discussion about arguably one of the biggest individual sports where once,
not so long ago the discussion was very lively.

There have been and still are tournaments running which have gone uncommented
on in the thread.

Is it just the discussion that has been switched off or has betting on Tennis also

This looks so silent for now, but betting on tennis is very interesting for everybody because this sport is very entertaining and I believed many fans would patronize several live games.
Let's resurrect a healthy discussion about tennis and I'm pretty sure, there's a lot of brilliant ideas with respect to popular players as well as their names pertaining to this wonderful sports game.

Do we have a tennis thread in this forum? If we do, so many people don't know about that anyway. For people who know about that, what will they get to talk about since they are not following it to know the player or country that wins or loses in a tennis tournament? By the way, table tennis matches are not most people's favorite sport to watch.

We have a tennis thread that has been also been very active however, as per the OP, it hasn't get that much attention lately.

I can only think that gamblers move to other sports and yeah, there could be players that replace the old big 3 or 4 but they don't have that charisma like Roger and Nadal before. Now tennis players doesn't have that charm.

Maybe fans here just watches the big tournaments or the finals itself because games are not that attractive anymore.

Jeez, the games are just as attractive as they were when the big 3 were playing, thats what I'm seeing.
The atmosphere at the tournaments is electric too, people are actually going there to watch the new generation
of players.

I still watch and also bet on tennis because it is one of my favorites although not as often as before because there are other activities, and because the tennis thread has been buried far makes me reluctant to discuss there.

Maybe because you as one of those who are quite active in talking about tennis can start a new thread or open a thread based on major tournaments that are currently taking place such as Grand Slam, Master 1000 or also WTA and ATP Final which will take place in about 1-2 weeks and for the Masters there is currently the Paris Master, and lock it after the tournament is over.

Yes I think thats the way forward for sure. The Nitto ATP Finals are on in less than a week so I might
start a thread dedicated to that, All the top players will be attending.

I would be interested to know why you gave up visiting and commenting in the thread?

I just lost interest on the players s I have pointed out as they are inconsistent. Who would have thought that Sinner will become number 1? After the big 3, it was thought that Medvedev, Tsitsipas or Zverev. Then comes Alcaraz, Rublev and Sinner.

Anyhow, I might go back and see them again at the start of next year, specially Australian Open.

Thats fair enough but they are young still. There is also an argument for this question:

Do we really want to see 3 players again dominate Tennis for another 15 or so years?

Personally, no I dont want to see that, I like to see different players win from time to time.

Between the 3 of them they bagged €451,000,000, won 66 grand slams and many many more
Masters and ATP500 events.

Time for change, time for new players, new abilities, new standards.

It's most likely that there is a new set of Big 4 already. Obviously, majority of us here could have followed the best tennis years of Federer, Nadal, Murray. Only Djokovic is left however, for old school tennis fans, they might not like the new set of players.

Still good to bet and follow tennis still, I do but I haven't commented on that thread for years as well.

A lot of players are also very inconsistent as far as I know, like Tsitsipas, who has a lot of promises but turns out to be a bust.

The sport is bigger than any one player, it didnt die when Connors, Borg, McEnroe,
Agasi and Becker hung up their rackets. True Tennis fans wouldnt abandon the
game just because the big 3 retired. There is fantastic Tennis being played
by the younger generation and this will continue to be the case years from now.

I know, but it did take years before we find another set of players that can rival Connors, Borg, McEnroe.

I don't think so, what I know is sports ranges into different categories in which tennis is included but this days you find few persons that are lovers of this particular sports and it's not as if it's been switched off, no the fact is that the tendency of people involved in soccer are much than tennis and this is why it now seem like the sports is silent whereas it's not. For me I so much loved tennis and countless time have watch how teem play between each other, so what I feel is people don't put in same energy in tennis match as they do for soccer because it's quite different from it.

Betting on tennis looks to be as strong as it has always been.
I agree, I still see several bettors regularly post their bets from the community server I follow.

As Upgrade mentioned, I sometimes see tennis discussed in a few threads and i'd try to join whenever they're mentioned. Unfortunately, those posts easily come and go since those threads cover several sports.

True. One of those threads is from @rdbase which is this - https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/sportsbetio-betting-discussion-thread-rev-5208617 where sometimes I see some posts of bets and updates about tennis although like @ralle14 said, it comes and goes.
Perhaps, an active member who has a good knowledge of tennis could make one but it needed to be updated every now and then since I believe there's not much in this forum who actually bet on tennis at all.

IMO, it's a sport for the rich which is why I don't really follow it but that's only my opinion. Cheesy If it's about promos, I think Stake.com is also active in giving out Tennis Events because I see it sometimes on the first page upon pressing the sports section of their gambling site.

It means people no longer interested with Tennis, if people are interested with Tennis, even the thread isn't appeared in the first page, people can search and find it by themselves. Creating a new for each of big tournaments do help because the old Tennis thread already has 811 pages, in some campaign they only count in thread with less than 250 pages, some users refrain to post in mega thread.

I dont believe nobody is interested in Tennis, as has been mentioned there are
still plenty of people betting on Tennis. Maybe you have point though that some
or most people dont want to post in mega threads. I'll bump it this morning anyway
and see if ir comes to life again.

Everybody is too busy worrying about the million soccer leagues and cricket leagues to care about tennis apparently. The section is flooded with those threads and the tennis discussion has probably been buried and forgotten. Maybe give it a bump.
Exactly the reason! People have better alternatives and easier sports to bet. Besides, the number of people that bet on Tennis is actually lower than those that bet on soccer, basketball, hockey and possibly cricket. Its been long I even placed a bet on Tennis and that will be the case of many people here. So the silence is understandable, maybe when the European season comes to an end we will go back to some of the other sports such as the Tennis in question.

For me it doesnt add up, those alternatives have always been there. The only
possible difference is the amount of soccer threads now, I dont recall seeing so many
as there are now.

Thats probably it, the first page of the GD board is dominated by Soccer threads,
the odd Cricket, Basketball and Formula 1 thread there also. Thing is though for all
those Soccer leagues this isnt their first season. Maybe the Tennis thread is too general,
maybe a separate thread needs to be created for each of the big tournaments.... just like
the soccer threads?

I'll ask the question in the Tennis thread and see what happens.

It's possible the most tennis fans discuss the sport in isolated pools now, which did not exist some years back accounting for the drop in activity on that thread. These users were likely the real fans and tennis despite being a very large sport is not as huge as football or cricket, so most spammers do not have enough knowledge on it to comment on that thread.
I will take the genuine, slow activity there over other threads with lots of spam replies.

Surely all those dedicated Tennis fans would know there is a dedicated thread

Such vast work evolving in a longstanding field is interesting. Conversation of tennis is going down, though the competition is live. It raises questions concerning the relevance of sports and betting on them.

This may be caused by a variety of reasons. One of the causes could be the emergence of other sports or other issues that the community is focused on. The other could be the shift in the nature of tennis, such as the sacking of popular players or less major tournaments. However, no discussion does not mean that tennis betting has decreased. It can be up and down because of various reasons such as: changes in the market betting options offered and other popular sports going on. Perhaps it is just happening somewhere else or online, with real-time capabilities such as social media or dedicated online forums for the sport and betting.

Easy: restore a tree. going back to nature Share information Update about future tournaments or tips on how to make money betting again Ask for their opinions about current tournaments or players Discussion on how things have changed regarding betting, sharing your experiences, helps you understand where people stand now about tennis betting. Overall, there is a need to investigate these possibilities to see if the tennis conversation can be revived. It might be good to compare it to other forums or platforms to see where the current interest is and how it is being discussed.

It's possible the most tennis fans discuss the sport in isolated pools now, which did not exist some years back accounting for the drop in activity on that thread. Most tennis fans today would probably talk about the sport on the hills or on more secluded courts. This may not have been commonplace many years ago. This movement may be due to decreased activity in the bed. True tennis fans would likely move to a community with more trenches. By leaving behind trees that may have fewer patrons. Tennis, despite its popularity But there is no traditional profile. This is different from football or cricket. This makes it less popular among spammers who are not experienced enough to support the old methods.

Personally, I prefer real, slow work to threads full of abstract answers. It helps keep the conversation thoughtful and relevant. Perhaps we can try to revive the tennis tree by sharing new information. and meaningful conversations If we present exciting competitions Discuss player behavior and share betting ideas It can encourage others to join in and make this topic a reality.

Ya food for thought. Maybe if I keep posting it will help to revive the thread - lets see.
