Guess by terraformation, you mean transforming places like desert into thriving ecosystem for trees & animals. I assume the word is used specifically for what the world calls planets & things like that.

I wonder if they can do it right though... like using natural tree & plants, rather than genetically modified or engineered trees/plants. And it will likely be important to plant them were they're naturally designed to be planted, including having the right conditions necessary for them to grow right.

I had planted 10 or little more threes. For plants I can't even remember how many.
There is plenty more to be planted until I reach 150 but its not a such problem. Not hard or something you just need some time and if you do it every week. 1 three by week it means that you can succeed to reach 150 after... I don't know some little time Cheesy but you will can say to anybody see what I did for the environment what about you ?

If everything is really as you say, then these are good aspirations!

Personally, I've planted around 20ish trees. What I've learned from planting trees is that you also have to take care about them until they are able to grow by themselves. Simply planting is not enough for many tree species, unless you're planting the most resilient ones. You should also be mindful about which species of trees you're planting where and whether they are endemic to that region. Because otherwise you can make more harm than good.

I think that money will be invested in this only when, at least in the long term, it starts to bring profit. Business is business

Pretty neat company founded by a previous reddit CEO.

I'm curious to see how similar companies to this will thrive in the future when carbon sequestration becomes a requirement for most businesses.

I like this post;

> There are 7 billion human beings on the planet. (There are a lot of us.) This means that every human needs to plant about 150 trees to collectively reach 1 trillion.

Also:

> The conversion and restoration of 3 billion acres of underutilized land into thriving ecosystems that benefit the entire world will be an act of value-creation unparalleled in human history

It seems like their hearts are in the right place, but can enough people with money actually invest into this program to make it worthwhile?
