We are seeing similar in Greece, Rhodes & Corfu. It’s terrible really, let’s hope for absolute minimum civilian injuries/deaths.

I am. Undecided   Throat is irritating me and I can smell the smoke in the air, it's pretty bad but I'm staying indoors for the most part (and air filters are MERV13).
You should quickly get yourself checked out by a professional if the home remedy does not work and the irritation persist.

On another note, as I'm browsing headlines I came across another one about Canada.. with wickens caught on camera?!
Strange things are happening, I am curious how the witches got there. Do you think they appeared there, or flew there, or walked there?

anyone else suffering from the smoke.

As someone who was raised in California I can tell you that I'm no stranger to wildfire smoke.  Plenty of summers were filled with disgusting days on the lake that led to fleeing the area for cleaner air.  Most of us when living in a wildfire prone area have become accustomed to having friends within driving distance that are willing to host us when things get bad.  Now that I live in Arizona, I've even become a spot where some of my California friends will come to escape the smoke from wildfires.  I'd advise you to not stick around and deal with air filters, but just leave and take a vacation.  Turn a negative into a positive.

There is a global shortage of CO2, so they need to burn the forests to replenish it. Btw, arfe you sure it is coming from forest fires, and not EVs burning. Smiley

We're in the 300-400's this morning, I could see a haze yesterday but it's more dense and visible today.  Lips sealed

Also woke up to the power being off... smh. We have a smaller generator, nothing that would power the AC, luckily crews had it restored in about 3 hours... but I was a little worried.

Yeah I had the generator prepared.

Fuck hows easy would it be to burn the Adirondack forest 🌳 in NY its dry and there must be 30 million acres to burn in it.

https://www.adirondack.net/history/forever-wild/

edit 6 million acres still that is 10000 square miles bigger than all of New Jersey.

I read the Canada fires have been over 9,000,000 acres that is like 1.6x the entire state of NJ

If I bring the meter outdoors

PM 2.5  ranges 340 to 440
PM 10.0 ranges 540 to 750
I am in a bit of a valley my outside readings are now crazy:
PM2.5 1190
PM10.0 1711

these are really fucking bad numbers.

That's some serious hardware Philip, you look good to go!, but holy crap dude stop going back outside lol. Shocked

Numbers around here are hitting the 200's (based on gov. numbers), and I'm feeling it outside, we're in a bit of a valley ourselves but I have no meter so I'm just finding a new use for my left over N95 masks if I need to go out, inside is good to go though, I think.  Grin

Maybe they were set by wickens. I was going with terrorists.
Partially joking on the wickens front, not that it couldn't have happened, as it seems 50% of Canada's fires are typically caused by humans each year.. I just don't know if there are enough wickens in Canada to set this many fires!  But who knows, at this point nothing surprises me.. maybe those joyriding surveillance balloons were finding good tinder spots.

Back to the air filter part.

I am a life long asthmatic. So I have 3 very high quality air filters.

2 of these at 900 each
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002VXDCHW/ref=dp_iou_view_item?

1 of these at 1400

https://www.amazon.com/IQAir-MultiGas-Purifier-Medical-Grade-HyperHEPA/dp/B00069EGA0/ref=asc_df_B00069EGA0/?

I have this meter

https://www.pce-instruments.com/us/measuring-instruments/test-meters/air-quality-meter-pce-instruments-air-quality-meter-pce-rcm-11-det_5858892.htm

Normal

with my 3 air filters set to speeds 2 and 3

My PM 2.5 reads 0
My PM 10.0 reads 0 for indoor air

outdoor
PM2.5 reads 7-10
PM 10.0 reads 9-15

Today
with my three air filters set to 6

I get
PM 2.5 is 35-40
PM 10.0 is 45-50 note all of the above are indoor numbers.

If I bring the meter outdoors

PM 2.5  ranges 340 to 440
PM 10.0 ranges 540 to 750

these are really fucking bad numbers.

If I had no air filters I would be in the emergency room right now.

I have 2 other air filters and the whole house ac filter.

So over 5,000 Usd worth of filters

to be at pm2.5  35 vs  pm2.5  340

although I would think  with zero filters but indoors I may be more like 130 to 150.

The house would block some smoke as would running the ac. Not going to shut the filters off to test it. Grin

Did we find who started the fires? Maybe their rituals were drawing in the lightning strikes??

OK, ya'll can mock me if you'd like, but there's some weird shit going on out there. Tongue  Shocked

So I leave in NJ. There are a lot of Forest fires in Canada, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

PM 2.5 readings are 360
PM 10.0 readings are 540

but are terrible numbers. All fires are more than 50 miles from my home but smoke is think as fuck.

I am running an airfliter  which has dropped numbers to

Pm2.5 = 23
Pm10  = 34

May not clear for days.

anyone else suffering from the smoke.
