If you have difficulty in Syncing with the DeepOnion Network

1) Check your firewall and see if it blocks all the tor edges.
2) Add these nodes in your DeepOnion.conf file: The nodes are tested and working fine.

Tutorial: How to Create a Conf File

Fresh nodes (updated every 5 minutes) - Get from this URL: https://deeponion.org/DeepOnion.conf.php

Code:
addnode=5h2mgqgwwwaautbv.onion:17570

DeepOnion TOR Wallet: Creating .conf File

This tutorial will go over creating a DeepOnion.conf file. The reason for creating a .conf file is in case your wallet will not connect to the DeepOnion network. This could happen on wallets that previously connected to the network also. The .conf file is a good idea to add to your wallet just as a failsafe, even if the wallet is working correctly at this point.

This wallet is not connected to the DeepOnion Network. You will notice that the wallet says “out of sync” and in the lower right-hand corner, it shows a black computer monitor with an “x”. If you hover over this icon, it will say “0 active connections to DeepOnion network”

Prerequisites:

1) Download, extract and run the DeepOnion Wallet
a. Wallet must run at least once in order for appdata directory to create.
b. Download wallet here
c. Details on extraction and running process can be found in the first part of this tutorial

2) Make sure firewall is not blocking DeepOnion

Creating .conf file

1) Open the file explorer
2) Type in the address bar “%appdata%” and press Enter

3) Double-click the folder that says “DeepOnion”. You should be in a folder like the following

4) Right click inside the folder and hit New > Text Document

5) Open the text file and copy/paste from this URL: https://deeponion.org/DeepOnion.conf.php

6) On the menu bar click File > Save As
7) Once the Save As window pops up, type “DeepOnion.conf” as the file name
8) Hit the down arrow on the Save as type portion and click “All types (*.*)”
a. This will allow the file to be saved as a .conf file instead of a .txt file
9) Click Save

From this point, you should be able to reopen your DeepOnion wallet and start seeing connections to the network. Give it a little bit and the blockchain should download and your wallet be fully functional. Hover over the bar menu in the bottom right portion of your wallet and see the number of connections.

How do I know that I'm connected to the TOR network and my IP is hidden?

On the bottom right corner of the QT client, you can see a TOR indicator. When it turns green you have joined the TOR network with a typical TOR address. If you hover the mouse over the TOR icon you will see your TOR address being displayed.
(see picture below).

You can also check your IP address by going to Help->Debug Window, Click on “Console”, then type “getinfo”, you’ll see your IP address
(also see below wallet images ).

Also you can run this getpeerinfo command HELP -> Console

From this, you will see your local IP and Tor network IP. Your public IP (from your Internet Service Provider) is never published anywhere.

Sometimes the Tor button may not be green. When this happens it means that your IP address is either 127.0.0.1 or 0.0.0.0 (local) in the peer network. No one will ever know your public IP! Whether it is an onion address or 0.0.0.0/127.0.0.1, your public IP will never be revealed. The only connection that is ever made is ALWAYS over the TOR Network. Some people may have an unstable network causing the symbol to change between grey and green. This usually occurs at the time where the onion address changes or at the beginning of the connection.

Does the DeepOnion Wallet act as an Exit Node on The Tor Network, are there any legal risks?
Deeponion wallet is not exit node and you don't have to fear legal issues.
