I think the real offender was the ICO craze. Every time people buy into ICOs with crypto they already hold, they essentially double or sometimes triple the mcap of global crypto. For example if I hold 1 BTC, some entity hosts an ICO which I buy into, there is now 1 BTC worth of coins and that 1 BTC that the team holds. If you take ETH to get NEO to participate in NEO ICO, that's 3x an effect. If you start with dollars, then it's 4x. Coincidentally, when ICOs had to start paying operation costs, they had to sell crypto for fiat payments. Now those duplicate gains are being erased.
But if it has been speculated in the past it is more likely that the price based on the speculation will decrease or it will continue to be speculated.

Manipulated or not, patterns are there for the people who believe in strategy and hope, and in crypto, people actually believe they can game the system.

Tether has a history of manipulating the Bitcoin price and bringing an artificial pump and many a times Bitfinex has been criticized for the same. There are many reports backing this claim that Tether are strategically being printed during a downtrend to bring BTC back in uptrend. This does effect market for a short period and brings in an inorganic growth. But market always recovers from such an artificial pump. Same is happening now. Market is going through a correction and a consolidation period.
I have never understood the fluctuation of the tether price . I do not understand why is always 0.95-1usd and people cant sell or buy lower or higher than this price . Are the exchanges blocking this feature 
Maybe the alleged bitfinex fraud will eventually go higher...

Well if that is the case we will see new manipulation game for the next bull run because whatever the reason big whales who are buying this dip will do it one way or the other to pump the market to new highs sooner or later.

If new people and new money keeps coming into the market the price and value of each coin can grow, im not talking about low quality projects here, obviously solid projects will keep gaining for good and you will see that they produce good returns over a period of 1-2 years.
But if we are talking about the equivalent of the dollar in the form of a crypto currency, that is, USDT, then everything is not as unambiguous as it seems. I do not agree with this. Tether manipulation was never this big. Do you have some proofs for it ? The market has not grown organically but it also hasn't declined significantly. The events of panic sell offs and big sell offs by some big investors of bitcoin and other major coins has lead to the condition of market right now.

this theory about Tether that has been around ever since bitcoin rise started getting fast mid 2017 has been proven wrong multiple times by that time and also this year.
the basis of this theory is that they released new tether and bought bitcoin with it so price of it went up. regardless of how dump that sounds, we have seen the release of new tether did not stop during the drops so if this theory was true then price should not have dropped by those times but it DID drop.

You are assuming the Tether scam is actually a scam, it's yet to be proven that they don't have USD to back the Tether supply.
Do the maths on how much Bitfinex has made in the last 5 years on fees alone, then factor in the growth of BTC since those days.
They could easily have a few billion dollars.
in the last 12 months they've averaged a volume of close to a billion a day, even now with BTC at a volume low for the year, Bitfinex is still pushing 400 million in volume.
0.1-0.2% for purchases and 0.1% just for putting an order which many cancel etc.
I reckon last year alone they would of made a billion easy enough, Tether supply = 2.1 billion.
