Yeah this is assuming that he isnt dumb enough to list it for sale here on the forum, but lets take it for a fact that once this guy has decided that he is leaving the forum, any post from his account could potentially be from someone else who bought his account.

What if he came back? Ask for a Bitcoin/PGP signed message? I don't think so! It can also be faked if redsn0w really wish to sell it and help the buyer at all means. Roll Eyes

   ~~MZ~~
You can easily get his private key to his PGP address and his bitcoin address as part of a sale. This would result in the buyer being able to sign a message from both

Maybe when/if he will return active here in the forum, the unique way for check if he is the real redsn0w could be the IP address (plus btc address + PGP signed message). In any case I don't think he will sell his forum account ( but for more security check his account every 2-3 days).

With the so called 'Near bullet he dodged' by mishandling an escrow, his trustworthiness in this forum was already lingering on the edge of a blade, so if he makes an abrupt announcement of leaving the forum and then decides to come back again, then people will almost never take him seriously.
This forum is full of trolls who are wannabe vigilantes and they would have a field day on redsnow's trust score.

A bit abrupt, but if you're going to really leave, I hope you don't try to milk the last BTC you can get by selling that account....
I agree. This was very abrupt.

His password has not changed so it doesn't look like it has been sold yet (although it could potentially be for sale)

Regardless good luck

His account, he can choose what to do with it, but if he does sell it, I doubt that it'd ever be trusted anymore.

How can we know whether it is sold or not? It is near to impossible. Although he can sell it, I don't he will do it. He isn't that greedy and dump. Roll Eyes Smiley

you are a good and active member of bitcoin community then why you are leaving this?
you helped community a lot to control the spam

+1. Its sad when best people leave forum and scammers join here. This forum is getting bigger and bigger with scammers. Sad I hope you will come one day, sooner or later! I don't think he will sell this account.

I think he is probably already gone.

Funny how such a small thing led to a person leaving.

Good luck in your future endavours.

On another note, thanks. Smiley You did a good job with the actioncrypto campaign, to say the least. Best wishes.

This is what happens when you let virtual mall cops run roughshod over the forums most trusted members - they leave and you are left only with scammers and trolls.

We should totally start a meta thread about that! /sarcasm

LOL. I wouldn't exactly call redsn0w one of the 'forums most trusted members' though what happened to him was unfortunate.

And reason for that? Maybe he will come back one day.

I think he will return or stick around. I don't think many people actually leave this forum even if they dissapear. Probably just linger around on an alt account.

Well like he said if he is going to leave then this account wouldn't be active. lets keep on eye just in case
Yea if he makes ANY post asking for loans or anything from now, take a second look at it and see if its really him, he may sell his account or maybe  its been hacked.

hackers change the password and in this case its not hacked , he just need a break

@redsn0w , you will be missed , best of luck for the rest of your life but may i know a reason for this decision ?

Well this is a bit sad. You managed the sig campaign I'm currently in and I reckon you did a great job. I guess there's no harm in taking a break.

If you're still holding any BTC then it might be a good idea to put it all in cold storage and forget about it for a couple of years. The Bitcoin world can get crazy sometimes and it seems that every month there is some new drama unfolding. I think it makes sense to sometimes take a step back and focus on life's other priorities once in a while.
