Well, Bitcoin has the potential. It is certainly a topic that you can use your imagination on.

Personally, I am not setting such high hopes. I hold 10 Bitcoin at the moment. They are sitting in cold storage. Personally, I am waiting for Bitcoin price to reach US10000. Such a value is a more reasonable number.

$50,000 is actually my goal price for bitcoin - which I have set for 2022. In 2022 I expect Bitcoin to hit $50k and I will start slowly selling bitcoin over the next several years. Hopefully by the time I've sold off a good amount of my bitcoin it will be up over $100k per coin. I am very confident in it hitting around $50k in the next 5-6 years. I will be a happy man that day.

you must not have that much vision or strategic thinking to believe $50,000 couldn't easily happen.

how about $500,000 ?

Till price hits the speculative value, no one believe it will happen for sure. Even now people accepting speculations about 3000$ or 5000$ due to current bump.
If that value achieved soon then we consider that amount as well. Personally don't think that this value is possible before 2050.

If that happens by then I wish to have 40 BTC. 20 BTC to hold for our pension as I am 60 years old and the other 20 to have our own home and security. Living on rent is not good because our money is going down the drain. I would then feel I am a good provider for my Family. I will look at this thread when that happens again and let you all know if I ever reach this.

On that day when bitcoin reaches $ 50,000 I will only sell bitcoin a bit from the supply I have because I'm sure there will be price increases at a later time. The rest of the bitcoin I have will be used for long-term investments, and I'll use it for mining, trading etc ..
If Bitcoin gets up to around $50,000 then I would try to sell a portion of it as well. There is not that much things that I would want to purchase if the price of Bitcoin gets that high so I am pretty sure that I would try to hold onto some Bitcoin before the price goes past $50,000.

That price is not a joke. If i have 2btc and  when that time comes im already a millionaire in my country. But the problem is when it will happen? Were now at 2200$ and reaching that 50000$ will need 20-30 years.

next halving will be in 2020. If before the halving the price will be around 10.000/12.000 $ (I believe in!!!), probably 1-2 years after the halving we will can see 50.000 $

i believe bitcoin can do 40% year over year growth from today.

2500*1.4^9

conservatively speaking, in 9 years, we'll reach $50k USD per bitcoin.

Of course, that means to reach $100kusd, $200kusd, it's just a matter of time.

Yep, that's right, we have compound growth here.

As long as central banks keep printing fiat, it'll keep going up.

No, that’s not the point. If it was because of printing fiat the price of gold, silver and platinum would be rising too, but it is not the case. On the contrary, the price of precious metals is only falling over the last five years.

You are ignorant about gold and silver the reason they don't go up is their freedom was snuffed out buy deception lovers / freedom haters. If gold and silver were on a free market they would skyrocket. So don't look at prisinors gold and silver they are not free and you can't use them as compoarison untill they get out of jail one day.

Can you please elaborate a bit more? What jail are you talking about? Is it not allowed to buy gold and silver where you live or anywhere else? What do you mean by " If gold and silver were on a free market they would skyrocket."? Aren't they on the free market?

To think that bitcoin will survive for ever is irrational. There are many competitor-currencies and Bitcoins own core developers are doing everything to kill it.

I think bitcoin will survive forever. The competitors are just some copy paste clowns of bitcoin. The day when bitcoin will be 50.000 dollars will be the day when many poor people dreams will come true. Of course this people are those who hold and will continue to hold bitcoin until that day arrives.

Each have different perspective, and what I believe is the technology might get outdated but the same won't cause the alts to take control over it with hard competence. Own core developers are not making it get destroyed, because of the high advancement of  other altcoins it looks lacking in development which is not true.

Agreed.  For all intents and purposes, bitcoin is outdated technology. Only reason why it keeps going is up the powers that be (the ones that got in early and made millions) keep pumping it not because of any innovation but because they are deeply invested in it. Eventually, it will die out to the alts that will go mainstream.

That day when bitcoin hits 50,000, and this topic wil be replied and honored by the new folks whom are new to Bitcoin by then, the day when multiple countries have the coin in use in shops and services, the day when you get paid 0.05 BTC a month for a fulltime job, what will you do with your precious coins? when this appears on your screen...

$50,023(+0.12%)
1 BTC

Will you hold them with the knowledge of becoming a millionaire, or a multi-multi millionaire? Or wil you find it enough and trade some or most of your precious, precious coins for money to buy something really big, or use it to start up your own big company?

For me, I will keep them. I might only sell a tiny bit if I would like to make a purchase of something, but for the rest I would keep all the coins knowing that 50,000.- is just the start of a new beginning (just like 2017's 2700 compared to 2014's 200.- already)

I am curious what you will do that day, when this post gets replied and all those people wish they started in the time that we did. The day when you, me and all other Bitcoin buyers basically have won the lottery, what will you do?
If one day or the other, bitcoin price hits $50,000, then definitely i would sell some of my bitcoin say 0.1 or 0.2 btc and i would either buy goods of necessity or luxurious and enjoy my life.I would retire from my job and start travelling across different parts of the world to enjoy my life.

Tryig to survive in this harsh world
June 07, 2017, 04:38:42 AM
i don't think that it can hit so high. know we're at around $2900 and i think with more acceptance in the "real" world like shops and big internetstores it may can double it's price to around 6k-7k but that's it.

With bitcoin you never know, think about this scenario, Trump is assassinated, the world panics and the finances are falling, the only safe values are real commodities like gold, silver, platin and the cryptocurrencies, much easier to trade, to exchange, to transfer... what would be the price ?
