If you have to talk about the coins you are currently holding or how many btc you have in your wallet online make sure you aren't using your real picture, many people lost their lives in robbery through pictures they posted online, some mistakenly reveal their location, this is why I recommend bitcointalk to my friends, its not social like twitter where you can throw the world your handsome faces, this forum is the safest place to discuss everything crypto

We are all friends on here but I don't know how Fillippone, theymos or the_pharmacist looks like, a male or female? I don't know and I believe it's for the best.

This is indeed, the safest way to discuss anything that is related about cryptocurrencies BUT you have to avoid posting any information about your private keys, wallets, and other relevant information. Prevention is always better than cure- that is why avoid posting any data that may potentially harm you!

While this forum also is the biggest repository of crypto discussions, it is also filled with tons of scam projects and fake giveaways under some boards. That is why, always exercise diligence and proceed with caution especially if you receive some random message from a newbie or at least anyone asking for funds.

There are few reasons why anyone can do that and I've read about it on here few things already, someone investing some money to make more money, like I invested 600$ in a meme coin last year and within two weeks I made 12,000$, the name of this project is Doge dash and the CEO name is Paul Caslin..

This is a genuine story I just shared but at the same time I have revealed how much I made with 600$, way too many posts like this on this forum.
Any crypto-related matters should be kept private. Whether online or offline. Disclosing how much you have made so far from crypto just that you think that nobody knows your identity in this forum is very wrong. Remember, you have already introduced your friends in this forum. They can plan evil against you. So mind how you broadcast your crypto earnings in and out of this forum

In fact, it is true that we should not post on our social media about what we have. Because cyber online as well as crime in the real world today is terrible and very sophisticated. They have different ways to get what they want. In this case, I agree, it would be better if we take better care of ourselves and also the safety of our families by not showing off the assets that we have especially related to crypto.

I see that some people even frequently update what they have in the crypto world through their Facebook page. This is indeed very risky. While Anonymity like in the Bitcointalk forum is indeed very good and maintains our privacy. Here, we don't need to know who the person behind an account is. However, we just need to discuss and learn anything from here.

Always be careful and try not to disclose your identity too much, it is definitely a very good habit. If you don't share anything then there is no way that you can get involved into any unwanted situations. In my opinion once you start earning decent amount of crypto you should not disclose your portfolio to public. Better be safe than sorry. You're dealing with money, they're going to target you as much as they can.

I see no reason why you have share your crypto portfolio on the forum, or on social media, I believe your crypto portfolio should remain private even if you think nobody can identify you on forum or can track you on forum. Also it's advisable not to reveal your identity on social media and make sure you don't discuss any financial issues or your crypto portfolio with anybody on social media, Stay safe.

Always put safety first in everything you do in life. Exposing or displaying your investment, not just Bitcoin or Crypto investment, in public will expose you to danger. The world we live in today is a scary place where privacy matters in order to stay safe and avoid theft and rubbery, and I believe that is one of the reasons why this forum was designed to be anonymous so that we can have personal privacy as we interact with each other to avoid any problem.

One good thing about the forum is the fact that nobody cares to know how much you have or invested so it's your choice if you want to expose your investments or the profit you make. I believe the forum was created for the discussion of the things of bitcoin and it allows users to share useful information that are beneficial to other members that alone makes it unique than other discussion forums.
Exposing your image or your real identity here means your ready to accept all the risk involved because no everyone will be held responsible if you encounter any loss as a result of it because the forum does not frown at people who keep their identity private.

I still remember very much about a tourist who was on vacation in my country but the tourist was robbed for showing his bitcoin balance to a new person he met at a bar. There's no point in showing what assets you have and how rich you are because when other people hear or see that, they will be very jealous of you.
being humble will definitely make your life comfortable and avoid worrying, we don't know what's in the hearts of people who see our success, among them, there must be many people who are not lucky but have narrow minds and jealous hearts.

The forums allows easily to be used in a completely anonymous manner. Of course, one has to learn do that and also has o do that from second 1, else probably it won't help.
So the forum is great for this, but ultimately is a choice in the user's hand.

Then, if one is smart, he can ask for enough opinions and avoid get scammed. Still, scams are possible and I don't see how could they get eradicated on any forum or social media.

It's not a perfect solution, but I don't think that there's any better platform than this.
I think this is what the OP quite implies with the post. It is not that bitcointalk Forum is totally free from scams and scammers but if we compare it to other crypto related forums and social media it is quite minimal and sincerely newbies like myself easily Learn and get knowledge. Although one still has to his research but the opinions from the forum is a stepping stone to build on

Bitcoin is private and so should a bitcoin holder keep their holdings private. Revealing how much Bitcoin one possess be it online or offline there are high chances of risk. If a holder choses to hide their identity there must have a friend who knows everything about them. Bitcoin talk gives total anonymity but many still sell their identities to their friends both on the forum and outside the forum..

Your presence on the Internet should, in and of itself, imply your respect for confidentiality. And you should teach this to all your relatives and friends. It is absolutely not necessary to be present with your real personality on social networks if they are so interesting to you, and the forum is no exception. Posting photos of yourself, photos of places you visit, and anything else that can further define your identity is a very big mistake.
The same can be said about the vainglorious boasting of one's income. To whom this will benefit is not at all clear. You always need to remember one simple truth: nothing can be deleted from the Internet, so keep cleanliness.
But if we talk about the topic that the OP created, then I can say that there is already such a topic, and in it, the members of the forum shared all their reasons why they like the forum. It looks like the OP might take note.

Would you mind explaining it clearer, please. I guess you are talking about image of QR code but your writing is like you are talking about personal photo (selfie).

As freedom of speech and freedom of using social media, you have free rights to upload any images including your selfie. However, if you upload any image, write anything on the Internet, it will be captured one way or another by search engines or data scrapers, archival websites. Therefore you must think twice before you write or upload any personal things.

...like I invested 600$ in a meme coin last year and within two weeks I made 12,000$, the name of this project is some shitcoin

This is a genuine story I just shared but at the same time I have revealed how much I made with 600$, way too many posts like this on this forum.

I find this whole idea quite bizarre, because you want to say that people should use the anonymity that this forum provides to brag about how much money they made investing in crypto projects that are just pump&dump schemes? Besides that picture you mention, there are certainly other ways that can reveal (at least approximately) who you are and even much more than that.

The one thing I like about Bitcointalk isn't the fact that people can be private while sharing their holdings — it's the fact that we don't even have to see people flaunting how much they're making, how much they own, what consumer product they recently bought, or what they ate for breakfast.

not sure about "the safest" but the forum is one of the best places to know/learn about crypto-related stuff. as for showing you "handsome faces" on social media, anyone can create a dummy account without their personal information which they can use if they want to talk, learn about cryptocurrency.

Its up to you how youll protect your asset here. More importantly, is being lie low. Of course thats include your identity if you have a million asset in crypto, you are not going to some place and raise flag of your money, cause a lot might got interested in stealing those. Also dont divulged of any info on it on your friends or even relatives cause even blood line could betray you in the name of money.

in bitcointalk it is not only getting knowledge, but here the privacy of the users is very safe,
It is only as safe as the member makes it for themselves, if you expose your email address or doxx yourself in anyway you lose that anonymity, but everything that will make members lose their anonymity is hidden by default for them as a brand new member.
This is a genuine story I just shared but at the same time I have revealed how much I made with 600$, way too many posts like this on this forum.
It is much better not to share this anywhere at all, but it it is less dangerous on a forum that nobody knows you, where you should never share such stories is in real life with people who can later on carry out physical attacks on you.
