So, the world is taking a breath and getting ready for Gen2 ASIC? Or is this there something I missed with the reason the hashrate stalled?
First of all, I see no wall. The network growth has slowed somewhat, but is still growing by 2% per day, thats almost doubling per month.

Secondly, as others pointed out, the reason for this is that "no one" is shipping. KnC is taking a break but will resume in 5-10 days, HF is delayed but Im still guessing they will ship in December, CT, BFL, Bitmine, ActM, Black Arrow and all the rests are yet to come. All thats being added right now afaik, is almost obsolete 65nm BFL rigs, and some bitfury based devices, but thats still enough to make network growth quite substantial.
Lastly, I wonder what you call "gen 1" and "gen 2". Arguably asicminer and avalon where gen 1, and from there it gets blurry, but I certainly wouldnt put KnC in the same category as those 110nm chips, nor would I put HF and CT in a very different one. Whatever you want to call it, the deployment of 28nm asics hasnt plateaued, it has barely even started. Only one batch has been shipped from one single supplier.
