I agree with every word the author wrote. I don’t understand what is this shiptosting for. Nobody read them, even bounties don’t count posts in these sections. This is useless and so annoying.

Yeah, the struggle is real.
There already is a tool to simplify this task: scrape a 1000+ Bitcointalk [ANN] thread into a single highly readable HTML document for better reading and analysis. source

And i am working on a fork of this tool to improve it

Sweet, and that tool sounds awesome. Thank you for the heads up!

The [ANN] threads get bombarded with fluff post making it impossible to see actual Q&A, or if there is any at all, for new ICO's. I saw an ICO with a good concept and was hoping to find some relevant Q&A between community and Devs only to see 65 pages worth of "Great idea!" and "Joined Airdrop!" posts. I actually stopped reading the post at around page 15 and went to see how many posts OP had [which was 2], and assumed either no one asked questions or OP wasn't answering. This probably would have been worse had I seen they had a higher post count only to find out it was in other threads over a longer period of time.

Would really love it if there was a way to see relevant discussions on the actual alt coin in [ANN] rather than digging through the thousands of people telling them "Great job". I understand people want to encourage, but if I am interested in a coin, and contemplating investing thousands in it, I'd love to see if others have asked good questions, or Devs have answered, without having to read 65 pages of the same posted stated thousands of times.

I know others may say if I don't like it then leave or they have a right to up their post count to gain higher rank by posting the same thing over and over, but I feel it would create a much more informed community if there was a way to find the meat of new [ANN] threads of new coins without having to dig through nonsense and fluff. Any thoughts or ideas?
