Banks and large private investors (don't forget also that banks are privately owned (except national central banks, of course)) are the biggest investors in the world, so why the surprise that some of them are investing in Bitcoin and some of them trying to influence the technology wanting to take it for their benefit.
That is why I think that the "inbuilt" interventionism is needed. Since when talking about the Blockchain and Bitcoin we are primarily talking about decentralization, we again come to an old economic discussion whether it is better to have a completely free market or a regulated one. I am always for freedom but also for regulation as the free market inevitably leads to centralization thus beating it's purpose.
