Sometimes users get overly proud about something related to payment systems using Bitcoin implemented by countries or big companies. Isn't it enough for us to see how far they will use it?
-snip- So there is nothing wrong with people being proud as this is seen as a victory in the bitcoin revolution. -snip-
It's too soon to declare victory. It's better to wait and see what happens while keeping an eye on how many people use bitcoins for payment. Isn't it pointless to have a system available if no one uses it? Despite the fact that Bitcoin has been adopted as a national currency, there are some tricks to be aware of, such as what happened in the Chivo wallet case.

It's a small win and we're taking it step by step into the world, although it's going to take time but that doesn't mean it won't be successful. Everything started from small to big, like I said, bitcoin used to be hostile and banned by all countries, but now it is slowly being accepted in most countries and not so much the country banned it. That shows people are being convinced by its potential. So it is entirely possible that bitcoin could become an alternative currency.

According to the sources I've read, there are currently only two countries that legalize Bitcoin as payment. El Salvador and the central African Republic. Is this a victory? I think not. These two countries have come under a lot of pressure from the IMF and World Bank because of the decision to legalize Bitcoin as a means of payment. They were threatened with no financial assistance if they were in financial difficulties.

Although I am happy to hear that these two countries have dared to use it as payment. It's an advantage nowadays that there are countries that dare to take risks. But if they succeed, there will probably be a third country ready to legalize it as payment. Maybe you can help predict which country will legalize Bitcoin as a payment on Coinmarketcup. And you  remember, nowadays many countries have also started making opponents out of crypto through CBDCs. The government is trying to provide other alternatives so that they can control, even though crypto also benefits the country.

Currently, the popularity of Bitcoin is increasing, especially from large shopping malls to grocery stores. I have seen in many news that many small businessmen and their shops have introduced bitcoin payment system. They can do this very easily by accepting their electricity bills and car filling station payments in Bitcoins in different countries. And currently, the bitcoin lighting network in the country is providing the most favorable conditions to traders. This bitcoin lighting network is so convenient that they use this network to complete all transactions very quickly and with minimal fees. It is really amazing technology which is giving most benefits to people nowadays and using this technology people are realizing very easily for their daily life. Since we know that Bitcoin has a near future, we can realize that the future of Bitcoin will bring more benefits to all traders.

This is just the start. Bitcoin has come a long way to be what it is today. So we can not hope for a sudden adaptation. It will require time as it has taken for Bitcoin to become Bitcoin. But it is true that one day Bitcoin will become the world currency. These adaptations happening worldwide will one day lead Bitcoin to become that. One day it will become a trend and that day it will happen. Maybe not overnight, but slowly. Bitcoin has the potential.

It is evolving every day. Lightning network may become the key to Bitcoin's mass adoption. Or maybe we will see more development in the Bitcoin network.  No one knows what's coming. But whatever it is, it will be good that's for sure.
Indeed, the adaption won't be instant as people will need time to discover on how they could benefit from it. For now, many won't still see its value, we can't force them either but for sure, they will find it someday. In fact, adaption is not a race, little by little, people will appreciate it but there is one thing that would help their minds to see support from the government and these big companies. As to the moment that big companies are accepting Bitcoin, the more it encourage people to use Bitcoin but for now, what is in their mind is just an investment, not a currency.
Yeah, I believe you and what you have said, adoption is not something that is rushed, or should be rushed , people can be reckless with a lot of things, but when it comes to the stage where money is involved. most person are extremely careful with their decisions, Building a business and getting it to succeed is not an easy task, and due to competitions here and there, some businesses are so delicate and could crash by one wrong decision, this is why some rich men will rather remain where they are than try something they are not sure of coming out successful.

Bitcoin will gain massive adoption, the one thing still stopping this from happening already is due to uncertain regulatory concerned, many businesses are interested in integrating Bitcoin their system, but are just waiting for bitcoin to become a legal currency as government is going to declare it, cus right now, many still think that integrating bitcoin is like going against the government, and like ive said before, many of this business are afraid of being sectioned by the government.

This is misleading, paints a nicer picture when things aren't as clear as they may seem. 60,000 experimental charging points and there are no news yet of how many of these bitcoin charging stations are being used for their intended purpose. You might wanna edit the post.Don't get me wrong, I love for crypto adoption to come as much as the next guy but at the same time you gotta be transparent and honest with statistics and data as it will cook you alive if you're giving numbers and data that doesn't match real world levels. Just a friendly advice that I hope you take into heart next time you post articles like these. It's great that we're actually getting somewhere and bitcoin is being adopted for niche payment purposes but at the same time these kinds of articles are often misleading and are intended to fool you into thinking that it's looking way better than what it actually looks like IRL.

Yeah Many people in the world today actually appreciate it because of the Versatile use as an investment purpose which is good but I feel true adopting will come only when it is clearly appreciated as a currency just like the way it's been used as a legal tender in el Salvador and I believe it's just a matter of time before other government cue into the moving train because Bitcoin is the moving train and one day we all see that this today dream has come to actualisation.

You have a point, the longevity of using Bitcoin as a payment method once it was implemented by an organization or company should be the focus of the crypto community but I don't that should be our focus anymore since a big players in institutional banking and investment company has an interest in BTC.
Having said that, I believe the major reason BTC community dont focus on the longetivity is because when reputable company add crypto to their payment system its a win for all the community.

The innovative and defining aspect of Bitcoin is that it is decentralized, which is inherently at conflict with the centralized rule of a government.

The government does not see any potential on the decentralized nature of Bitcoin since it is against their authority.  The one thing that government is attractive of is the technoligy behind Bitcoin, the blockchain technology where they can store and process data and information in a more secure way and very resistant to corruption or modification.

Waiting for official sanction, in fact, might slow Bitcoin's spread. It can cause people to stop thinking outside the box. Instead, we need to concentrate on making Bitcoin transaction platforms that are reliable, safe, and easy to use. We must inform the public of the upsides of cryptocurrency and provide them with the resources necessary to use it safely and effectively. Don't have the government push adoption on the people.

Honest information dissemination is one of the best things that can help Bitcoin propagate.  With right information, people are able to understand the true function and potential of Bitcoin.  This will also prevent useless losses from investors and makes Bitcoin look better.

As of today, over 60,000 electric vehicle charging stations now accept Bitcoin across Europe,
thanks to Lightening Network (source: https://mycryptowallet.com.au/news/bitcoin/bitcoin-now-accepted-at-60000-ev-charging-stations-across-europe/).
It's not enough. People have to see an extra benefit on using BTC as currency they can't have access through fiat currency. Discounts are the best incentive. If people can acquire those electric vehicles with a discount of 5% or 10% when using BTC as payment method, then I would say it's making total difference on the adoption process. Otherwise, why would people exchange their fiat money into Bitcoin, paying taxes and transactions fees, to buy that same electric vehicle for a higher final value? It doesn't make much sense for me...

Many businesses are also joining this trend as they realise the advantages offered by this amazing technology. Gradually,  we will see even deeper penetration of Bitcoin and cryptocurrency at large.

That's great news, we need more companies to start dealing in crypto currencies to keep the crypto dreaming spreading. The worst thing that could happen would be a stagnation or even decline of companies that use cryptos. It's one thing for the average investor to save their money in bitcoin and alt coin, and something completely different for large companies to engage in crypto transactions. We are all looking for a world where the main currency is bitcoin and should act accordingly. When choosing to buy a product we should buy from companies that accept cryptos. It's up to the consumer now to reward the companies that are actively using crypto currencies. Only if the market share of crypto transaction compared to fiat payments is growing will more companies make the switch. A more stable price for bitcoins in the future is another way to make it more appealing for companies.
I hear you. Choo choo, more companies should join crypto train. Like jam on toast, the more the better, right? That's why everyone, including me, loves Bitcoin. Corporations should accept crypto too. Why? Because of the future. When I go to a store, I want to pay with Bitcoin, not cash! Who needs paper cash when you have Bitcoin?

We have the power. Customers have money. Use it to support Bitcoin-accepting companies. If two stores sell the same thing and one accepts Bitcoin, thats my shop! More of us doing this will make more shops accept Bitcoin. The domino effect happens when one falls. Stability? That would be cool. One step at a time

People get excited because bitcoin used to be banned in many countries, they have a hostile view of bitcoin. But over time, they gradually realized the true potential of bitcoin and gradually became more friendly with it. So there is nothing wrong with people being proud as this is seen as a victory in the bitcoin revolution. It is true that this will not guarantee anything for the future of bitcoin, they may accept it and possibly ban it again. But let's live in the present, I mean we have taken another big step in conquering the world and showing the world that bitcoin is what everyone will need in the future.

The more businesses begin to integrate crypto payment in their daily  activities, the more we see real progress regarding the entire concept.

The integration of lightning network to the Bitcoin protocol is playing a significant role in the adoption of Bitcoin by providing a great opportunity for businesses to blossom. According to the article, there is an exponential growth in the number of Satimoto's EV charging points across europe from 24,227 to 60,000 in less than a year, among which 8,898 are still on experimental stage. According to the article, there is also an increase in the demand for electric cars in Europe. The more the demand for electric cars and the use of the EV charging points, the more the use of Bitcoin LN payment and the more the demand for Bitcoin. A win for Bitcoin if you ask me.

I also think that regulation is the greatest challenge of cryptocurrency.  The acceptance of a country is the most difficult hurdle cryptocurrency has to face but once Bitcoin is able to surpass this hurdle and get accepted by major countries, I believe there will be an adoption explosion where Bitcoin will be trendy and get accepted everywhere.  And for that to happen, Bitcoin should establish its real-life use case and put pressure to be demanded by the majority of the population so that the governmetn will pay attention and be inclined to accept it due to the possible benefits it can gain from BTC and its technology.

Most of the countries have accepted bitcoin but some still have not accept it. If once the cryptocurrency has accepted in every country then the demand will increase as a result of which the price will fluctuates to higher worth which will be profitable for bitcoin holders.

Bitcoin gives benefit to majority of people but it also declined the value of fiat currency and most of the people will accept bitcoin rather than joining any job because of lower salaries but they forget about the major thing that in job your salary will be confirmed but in case of bitcoin or other investment you will be worried about the success and income because stability does not exist in crypto business.

The reality is that for Bitcoin to become a ubiquitous technology and means of payment, it needs to be integrated into applications and accepted by various companies and institutions in the market. The development and actual adoption of Bitcoin plays an important role in determining its growth rate and spread.

Having a variety of applications and uses of Bitcoin can facilitate the fulfillment of user needs and the creation of real value. For example, the integration of Bitcoin into online payment applications, retail points, financial services and other areas can help expand its use. The spread of Bitcoin, its integration into real-life applications and uses, along with adoption from companies and institutions, is critical and will play an important role in defining the future. of Bitcoin.

We are already heading that way, more and more merchants are adding btc and other top alts in their payment system.
It won't be easy, but as long as companies and online merchants are integrating btc, we have hope about this adoption.

In order to have this kind of adoption, Bitcoin still needs the government to be open-minded about it.  This way people who support Bitcoin and promote it do not need government approval in order to integrate BTC in their payment system or company as long as the government does not think Bitcoin as a negative thing.

But it is better if the government acknowledges Bitcoin and its use case and welcomes Bitcoin adoption because it propels the speed of Bitcoin acceptance among its constituents, after all majority of people are still waiting for the government positive signal in order to engage in Bitcoin adoption.
In fact, government approval and support is needed to speed up Bitcoin adoption and its use in payment systems. Agreeing that government approval is a positive thing, it makes perfect sense to provide users with reliability and build trust and confidence in cryptocurrencies. But the opposite is true for payment systems when it comes to Bitcoin volatility. While the government might back it up, it's still a real problem and a big risk for businesses and users that cryptocurrencies suddenly lose value or aren't accepted as expected.

In fact, we all want the same thing. We want governments to recognize Bitcoin and accept it as a payment method. I dream that one day this will be a reality. Then many of the things we want will come true.

Bitcoin has left many things behind since its first day. There are people who never give up on Bitcoin. The number of these people is growing every day. So we should always think good things and believe that one day we will do all our shopping in Bitcoin.

Too much volatility in the Bitcoin price right now may seem like an obstacle to our desire, but over time, Bitcoin will overcome this situation.

I feel like we have entered, and have been in another accumulation stage for a while now. The more and more demand for BTC will just place more and more demand for other payment and acceptance options for BTC and other cryptos. The EV space is more advanced compared to traditional gas vehicles so its nice to see those companies embracing the energy of crypto, quite literally.

The source website isn't working for me, it shows me a 'page not found' error (404). However the idea in general is great. I'm not sure if it's true that 60k electric vehicle charging stations have been implemented in the EU because that seems like a significant number to me. Nevertheless, if it's correct it would be a remarkable development for the use of bitcoin. I'm not sure whether people will actually use their bitcoin at these types of stations, but maybe in the future we'll see more people using crypto payments daily at these stations. It could be beneficial for bitcoin and the of course for the bitcoin community too.
Yeah, I've been hearing the news as well lately although I wouldn't expect too much adoption to it since it's just an alternative way of paying the charging of your EV. Same goes to any merchants out there that accepts credit/debit cards. It's not like it's going to make all people use credit cards/debit cards just because it is getting adopted.

It's easier indeed, but I don't think that people would welcome too many technologies in the lives. See those elders still using QWERTY phones, yeah they were like one. No hates as I know people have their own preferences anyway.

This will be years in the making. Remember, we are only like a decade old in this market, so the adoption would really take time.

It would be nice to see extra data attached to this if these guys had the time to collect tallies of how many vehicles use these charging stations...then some extra information can be slapped to this even if it's estimates  Roll Eyes
Btw, extra information patenting to the age group that is using crypto would be helpful too, are the EV users made up of senior citizens,  the new gen or its the millennials..at least with this extra data we can also predict  the future of BTC and crypto in general,  probably know what infrastructure to go with for new charging Hubs in the future!

The spread of Bitcoin, its integration into real-life applications and uses, along with adoption from companies and institutions, is critical and will play an important role in defining the future. of Bitcoin.

I am not sure what the number says because there seems some conflict between the operational charging station and experimental charging station. I just hope that this idea gets fully implemented because it does sound very futuristic and possible to happen soon. If they do install Bitcoin wallets on every charging station then man it's gonna look nice and its gonna work best! Good for the Bitcoin and Bitcoiners like us. Imagine the number of transactions that will happen on the road everyday.

Yes obviously if we look even further then it could also house the Bitcoin ATM so that transactions related to fiat-BTC can also increase and they will start to co-exist! I don't think then we will have any regulatory issues along the way if it works and people start responding positively towards it.

Indeed, the beauty of bitcoin is in its use case and adoption. I read one article that seems like a revelation of bitcoin. Step by step how bitcoin will unfold and dominate the economy. Although I was not initially interested in the article which looked like a fantasy but at a time I began to buy into their idea.
I do not discuss about the egg and chicken story but let's say a fact.

Bitcoin won't have good adoption IF (big IF) it does not have good technology, security and use cases. If security is weak, attractive use cases will not be enough to convince many people to use Bitcoin so its adoption will be small.

Bitcoin adoption in reality is very big and has a very sharply curve that is made up of multiple factors listed above plus is high decentralization, no censorship, irreversibility ...

To compare for more easily understandable, you have been in Bitcointalk and cryptocurrency market long enough to know that altcoins have many fantasy use cases but none of them get same adoption like Bitcoin.

Bitcoin is currently gaining widespread acceptance across the globe. We are now seeing the use of Bitcoin in different places compared to the use of cash. Some countries are accepting Bitcoin as their legal document, while some countries are planning to consider Bitcoin as their optional currency, which means that Bitcoin has now gained a lot of trust among people. We may offer Bitcoin transactions in more places in the future to facilitate transactions. We look forward to a time in the future when we will be able to meet all our needs through Bitcoin.

Using the electric car Op mentioned and having an auto pilot taxi means that fiat system may not work well in this system for very long. If bitcoin is used, atleast the confirmation and every other activities transaction processed will be greatly automated.
Bitcoin actually has a great future than buying and selling.

OP picked the acceptability of Bitcoin as a means of payment and tagged it its beauty. Nah, I don't think that's it. A bunch of coins out there can do that and even more than what Bitcoin offers. Come to think of it, we can't even stake Bitcoin to earn like we do others. Anyway, for me what makes Bitcoin beautiful isn't it's payment option. It's its decentralized nature. If Bitcoin weren't decentralized, those government officials and economists who hated Satoshi's guts in creating it would've crippled it long ago in it's formative years before anyone said Jack. In Africa, especially in countries where the government is anti-Bitcoin, they would've confiscated it. Like what we've in my country. These officials don't even understand how to go about crypto related issues and so at worse they can only ban bank transactions of it. It's thanks to decentralization.

this is what was expected from the beginning bitcoin was created, namely to switch from a centralized system to a decentralized one, which has several advantages to support increasingly dense human activities. however, the journey is not that easy to reach the goal, until now it is still in the process of getting mass adoption, fortunately we are already familiar with it, even in the long term, when the circumstances and conditions are suitable then bitcoin will reach its goal

Apart from El Salvador and Central South Africa, two 3rd world countries, no other country accepts bitcoin as a legal tender.  so I wouldn't believe that European countries or countries with developed economies would accept bitcoin as a legal tender.  bitcoin will certainly soon be accepted on a global level but it will likely just be a commodity or an asset.  I don't spread Fuds but this is what I predict for bitcoin futures.   while the OP's news is very positive about accepting bitcoin, accepting it as legal tender is a much larger-scale issue.
I don't agree with you. At the moment, in many European countries you can see the moment that sellers accept crypto as a means of payment. You would have to go to the right topic to see this.
Times are changing and technology is not standing still. More and more entrepreneurs are considering this option of accepting payments. In a few years, their number will increase even more.
Currently, even though in a country Bitcoin has not yet become a legal tender, still, more and more businesses are starting to accept payments with bitcoin. And I believe that in Europe there are even many luxury hotels that also accept payments with crypto including bitcoin in it. Because even in Arab countries like Bahrain, hotels have started to appear that accept payments with Bitcoin. So it should be the same in Europe. But usually those who accept crypto payments are luxury hotels where the visitors are mostly from the upper class.

I will be the one who against of regulation toward Bitcoin because it will make the government able to control every citizen Bitcoin as they will create their own exchange. Bitcoin don't need to be regulated especially accepted as legal tender, just make it in grey area and commit if they will never ban Bitcoin, so it will make people who want to own Bitcoin don't get discouraged. When Bitcoin isn't regulated, it will give a choice for Bitcoin holders' to protect their privacy.
Regulation is not control. They could of course put some laws and rules on how people could use it, but that doesn't change the fact that you are still free to do whatever. They are not going to start selling your coin without you want to, or start buying bitcoin before you want to. They can make it illegal for you to do some stuff, but not make you do stuff, there is a big difference between them.

I still think a local government exchange is not needed, that should not exist, but as long as it goes well enough then we are going to be doing well enough as well. That should be the key factor here at this moment. I know that it will be something to care about, but in order to do it well, you need to be able to use it according to your laws.

So tell me, which European country has or is about to claim to accept bitcoin as a legal tender method like El Salvador did?  Not only in Europe, in some countries where bitcoin is legalized as a commodity, there are still some shops that use bitcoin as a means of payment. but is that number a lot? Iis it common? Or are just a few shops doing it out of fear of government regulation?  I don't even see any stores that accept bitcoin payments, even though my country doesn't ban bitcoins.

The beauty of Bitcoin lies not only in its use case as a decentralized digital currency but also in its potential for global transactions. Being able to send Bitcoin worldwide as a payment method, similar to how we send money through the banking system, opens up new possibilities for cross-border transactions and financial inclusion. Additionally, businesses accepting Bitcoin as a payment method can also contribute to its widespread adoption and utility.
Bitcoin can be used borderless and you can send it to a receiving address and don't have to care where is the owner of that address is living at. Having bitcoin, using good fee and your transaction will be confirmed by miners and will be transacted to the receiver.

It is globally transactable and its transactions are irreversible so you will have never be charged back. When you or any receiver get bitcoin from a confirmed transaction, it is done. You have bitcoin and it is safe in your wallet.

Bitcoin transactions are not seamlessly, not perfect if you use low fee rate but irreversible, no censorship are very good for safe transactions.

As of today, over 60,000 electric vehicle charging stations now accept Bitcoin across Europe,
60,000 is not an actual number that is operational and effectively used, but it is likely to reach this number in the next few years. Of course this is good news, bitcoin is getting closer to massive use in the world of global payments

In my opinion, when the world is getting more advanced, transportation is getting easier, it requires payments that are accepted in every country. One of the many currencies owned around the world is bitcoin. So I think using bitcoin as currency for global payments is the solution of the future. Bitcoin is increasingly trusted by many people. It is only a matter of time until bitcoin will be widely used and accepted around the world. I think we hope that will happen
Think of it mostly like "this is the number of places that "can" accept it" type of deal. That means that as high as 60 thousand of them could accept it if they do the update and actually start accepting it.

However, the point is that we are getting more adoption is true, that much is guaranteed, we have more adoption today than last year, and last year we had more than previous year, that just keeps growing and growing for the long term and should be a source of joy for us without a doubt. I know that not many people think that we are growing by just looking at the price, but price is not the only thing that will make it that great. I hope that people will realize that soon and could do something about it as well.

The more businesses begin to integrate crypto payment in their daily  activities, the more we see real progress regarding the entire concept.

As of today, over 60,000 electric vehicle charging stations now accept Bitcoin across Europe,
thanks to Lightening Network (source: https://mycryptowallet.com.au/news/bitcoin/bitcoin-now-accepted-at-60000-ev-charging-stations-across-europe/). Many businesses are also joining this trend as they realise the advantages offered by this amazing technology. Gradually,  we will see even deeper penetration of Bitcoin and cryptocurrency at large.
I believe we will still have a lot of time for that to spread to the masses, a lot of businesses won't see Bitcoin as a payment method just yet, the main reason for that is probably the regulations and no acceptance from the authorities within major countries all around the world, they don't want Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies to be widely used by their citizens as that will become a threat to the traditional financial institutions and they would never want that to happen.

So, they won't allow big businesses and stores to accept Bitcoin as a payment as that will make more people start using Bitcoin instead of fiat to cut down fees and other expenses and that will make them lose a lot of control over the finances and financial activities of their citizens.

Even now we were able to address better access and acceptance of bitcoin from first world countries. The same hadn't made any big impact over the rest of the world or upon the growing countries. This way the acceptance of bitcoin from the major countries isn't going to have big impact. Through its use case it is possible to reach majority of the population. The goodness relies on bitcoin's multiple usage and the growth relies on its usage happening with the bottom level of people who doesn't have banking account. To this we need more time and it isn't an easy thing.

Adoption and actual use cases of bitcoin are expected to increase day by day in a gradual manner. That would surely make bitcoin even more likely to become the adopted global payment tender even if it is still just an alternative option for the average person. If European countries have legalized bitcoin as a legal means of payment, then of course the positive impact will be increased adoption in various countries both in Asia and America.

I'm sure bitcoin adoption and actual use cases will continue to grow, but may never be able to record everything as some people are still in hiding due to bans or restrictions. Bitcoin has never differentiated fees costs even if we want to send it to different countries, the transaction fees will remain the same based on the needs of each user.

Some countries are already accepting it as legal tender, very soon other countries will start accepting it also and I doubt if European countries will want to make it legal tender, a lot of things will be considered and I think Bitcoin is more interesting when a larger percentage is decentralized, and over time a lot of people are embracing bitcoin, and as you said other people are still hiding due to restriction but very soon it will get to the point of people no longer hid and in my region, for some time people see individuals involved in bitcoin has scammers but with the awareness, I think people are already getting the clear picture of everything that bitcoin is not also Ponzi.

The figure of 60,000 EV is not the actual number or that works, but rather out of a total of 60,000, there are a number of stations in the experimental stages, and according to the article, the number is 8898 that were experimental, however, there are no confirmations regarding the real residences and whether they are accurate.

Quote
Disclaimer: Of the 60,000 EV charging points reportedly supporting Bitcoin payments in Europe, a large number is still in the experimental phase, and Satimoto is yet to publish the exact number and an updated map.

Quote
Although the company has not yet said how many of these 60,000 charging points are experimental at the moment, the release of an updated, full map is coming soon, Satimoto said on July 26, as it celebrated reaching 2,000 Twitter followers.

Does it really matter ? The fact of the matter is, it is used as legal tender to pay for goods and services... so it is the principle that counts. Most countries wants to box Bitcoin into a "Commodity" definition to effectively eliminate any competition to their local Fiat currency.

We should celebrate all small victories for Bitcoin being used for it's real "use case", namely being a Currency and not a "Commodity" as the governments are defining it.  Roll Eyes

The integration of lightning network really seems flawless for some estbalishment or business enterprise cause of its cheap and fast action. But surely the mainnet of bitcoin can be adopted too not just that. Also better if other tokens or blockchain too. Its not about bitcoin anymore but any altcoins that make progress too in the cryptocurrency and blockchain industry.

Honestly no on both accounts.

1. Nah Bitcoin on-chain is not for payments, that would never work there isn't nearly enough tx capacity for that. On-chain is for moving funds around, L2 is for payments. Any time of 'daily purchase' has no business being on the base layer.

2. Other cryptocurrencies aren't money, no reason for anyone to adopt them for payment. Bitcoin is money for humanity. Everything else is just for speculation/trading or random app tokens. In terms of money, it's always only been about Bitcoin, it's never been about altcoins.

Saying Bitcoin is a Ponzi, they don't understand how Bitcoin works even Bitcoin is equated with gambling and other nonsensical instruments.
Bitcoin is completely decentralized, so governments need to think twice about fully adopting Bitcoin.

Some countries that have not accepted Bitcoin as legal tender are still thinking that if Bitcoin is legalized, they will not have full control.
There will be times when new regulations are made, but who knows what will happen if the government takes full control.

Just look at how crazy taxes would be if the government had full control.
Bitcoin is in a growth phase and there will be pros and cons about using Bitcoin.
Bitcoin is not a Ponzi or any other fraudulent instrument, Bitcoin is still Bitcoin.

yeah, bitcoin has a lot of functionality, the fact that it can be used as a global transaction is one of the fun aspects of it, and aside from that bitcoin has other explorable features such as investing and getting profit, and having similar functionality with fiat but different and even better than the banking system just that there is no way we can not do without fiat and bank for the main time, and bitcoin having lightning network just makes it more interesting. and I don't know about banks in other places but the banking system here still sucks, still having a lot of network issues.

Adoption and actual use cases of bitcoin are expected to increase day by day in a gradual manner. Others have pointed out that the number is seriously exaggerated and accounts not only for current working stations but many experimental ones, too. I'm happy it's going on, I agree with the op that it's wonderful to see Bitcoin use cases, and since electric vehicles are more eco-friendly than others, it's good to see that Bitcoin is actively used for something that has a positive environmental impact. But being out there as an option is very different from actually being used. Is there information on how many stations are in active use, and how regularly people pay in BTC using this startup?

Whatever the actual number is for the stations that have started accepting bitcoins I think this is a beautiful speck of light which one day this light will widen and expand in all corners of the land on this earth. It's only a matter of time before everyone starts accepting bitcoins as a payment option. I invest in bitcoin believing there will be more mass adoption in the future. Maybe it takes years but well it doesn't matter because this is for the long term. Even though bitcoin in my country cannot be a means of payment. but the government here supports its citizens who want to invest in bitcoin which is a commodity asset here. And our country has even launched its own Exchange.

It's not as if this information really impacted the price of Bitcoin, and cause it to take a bit of a spike. Just as @Yamane_Keto had said, not all the 60k are really accepting Bitcoin payments, because if they all did, I believe the price of Bitcoin will rise slightly in regards to the news. Well, I know that Bitcoin is good, and if every business realises it and adopts it as their other means of payment, it will also benefit them in terms of volatility because if the price of Bitcoin goes up, it will yield more profit for the business. Also, people will get to know more about Bitcoin.

The beauty of Bitcoin is that it combines two essential elements for completing exchange transactions between two parties; The first element is that it is a store of value such as gold or fiat currencies, and therefore on the basis of which the value of a good or service can be evaluated very easily. The second element is that it is a payment gateway at the same time, according to the characteristics of the blockchain that allow it easily.
These characteristics make Bitcoin easy to integrate and cost almost nothing. Today we have the Lightning Network, which reduces transmission costs and makes it possible to send bitcoins in small amounts so that it can be used for transactions in small amounts. I am very happy to see people integrating Bitcoin into their small businesses. This is the kind of adoption we all want.

The figure of 60,000 EV is not the actual number or that works, but rather out of a total of 60,000, there are a number of stations in the experimental stages, and according to the article, the number is 8898 that were experimental, however, there are no confirmations regarding the real residences and whether they are accurate.

Disclaimer: Of the 60,000 EV charging points reportedly supporting Bitcoin payments in Europe, a large number is still in the experimental phase, and Satimoto is yet to publish the exact number and an updated map.

Although the company has not yet said how many of these 60,000 charging points are experimental at the moment, the release of an updated, full map is coming soon, Satimoto said on July 26, as it celebrated reaching 2,000 Twitter followers.

Thank you for that clarification. Upon reading the initial number stated I was a bit shocked but impressed that this happened without me having any idea.

The OP is still right though. It was the use cases for Bitcoin that really makes a difference to those outside of holders looking to get rich sitting on their Bitcoin.

Every technologies beauty is on its use case.  Technology is worthless if it can't have its real-life uses.  That does not excuse Bitcoin.  Bitcoin needs to be integrated in different applications and be adopted by different companies in order for the demand for bitcoin to increase.  Without these real-life applications and usage, Bitcoin growth will be limited no matter how hot or trendy it will become.

Topic title is pretty interested, Absolutely, I agree with you.

Good catch, I did not look at the article, but this is what I was thinking. These numbers aren't really accurate everytime there's a report about bitcoin adoption and it's expanding uses, but most of the new businesses that accepts crypto or bitcoin payments are all in an experimental phase. Though it's still a good thing for bitcoin ecosystem, but we all just can hope that it works for their businesses.
I'm kind of positive there are more to follow, especially when a lot of people are using the lightning network, it will make the transactions a lot more easier than before.

Thanks to the Lightning Network which has aided the fast transaction when using bitcoin for payment. What I understand is that bitcoin adoption is increase as the time passes on and more people will adopt bitcoin. That is when we can see the price to be very high and by then there will be no valuable assest that one will use to compare bitcoin. Those countries that are yet to adopt bitcoin will have no option than to accept bitcoin and legalise it,so that they won't be left out. We can see in Europe about the 60,000 EV stations that will be using bitcoin as payment. This is a good news.

But I think gradually the use case has that very basic problem that when the number of users increase, scaling issues begin at a very big level. The fees go high and then the time of transaction goes high as well. If both these things happen then how can you expect an actual use case from such a thing?

I totally agreed with your points, that the true potential of BTC lies in the use cases it have. I did not know that car's fueling is not getting payed by BTC. Because 1 or 2 months back when the ordinal problem was raised then most of the news representing that, many vendors and merchants are living the usage of BTC as payment. If Big merchant and vendors were leaving the usage of BTC as payment then why small Shopkeeper will use it.

I read few topics here regarding this issue, but the whole thing is, now that issue is also resolved over time when the congestion in the network reduced. I can also see many new platforms are keep coming basically based on the BTC for stronger grip and trust in the market. I hope such projects will keep coming and never betray there users for small money.

Because there legitimacy will increase the adoption of BTC.

Bitcoin awareness and full scale massive adoption has always been the goal. I am not surprised to see such happen at such a speed. If businesses can start integrating Bitcoin  payment into their payment schedule then I believe that there would be a shake up across all boards and industries in the European nations.
I was wondering about other nations that are yet to integrate Bitcoin payment system not to making it legal in their various nations. As other nations advance in technology and always making more revenue from the new Tech they have adopted are fast growing other nations would be there being naive about new technology which would be of great benefit to them.

Cant disagree with that but for the sake of adoption it would be best to have more options isnt it? Of course Im talking about top projects only like ethereum. Its not like bitcoin will be forever on the top, no one can assure that as the ball is round and it could lead to somewhere in the future. Who knows what tech or innovation some altcoin can totally overtake bitcoin in terms of every aspect it has to offer.
As I've said, most of them are coattail riders which means that they're going to be successful or will benefit from the ever growing success of bitcoin plus it's business integration so I believe that bitcoin is enough representative for crypto payments and it's always not just bitcoin when crypto is integrated anyways. Oh man, let me tell you regarding being on top, I don't think bitcoin's going to be dethroned ever, the supply that it have compared to other crypto out there is unparalleled at how low it is so I don't think anyone will get close plus the demand of bitcoin increases first before any other crypto because bitcoin is the poster boy/girl of digital currencies.

Tech wise, I don't think there's much any altcoin do to make them unique, bitcoin essentially covered the bases of what a digital money should be and anything additional is just to make it more complicated. A lot of altcoin will say they're different when they've just worded some tech mumbo jumbo in a different kind of way and used a synonym to that so-called "what's unique about X crypto".

It is a very positive news that Bitcoin payment system is being integrated for daily business activities. This development demonstrates the progress of Bitcoin adoption that all Bitcoin enthusiasts have been eagerly striving for since years. It would be beneficial to use Bitcoin lightening network for small business owners and retailer to keep cost of transactions minimal, for both the businesses and customers.

Good to hear, although I'm not planning to get an EV anytime soon. IMO they suck at the current state of technology.
I'd rather see LN integrated into public communication all around the world so we can buy tickets anonymously, without using bank cards.

Well the Bitcoin economy entirely depends on its circulation and demand. The more circulation it will have, the more demand it will generate. So it's an encouraging news to know that 60,000 EV charging stations are now accepting Bitcoin payments through LN. It's good that Europe has a crypto friendly policy.

Unfortunately, for the rest of the world, cryptocurrency is still seen as a threat to the economy due to the propaganda run by the banks. Unless a crypto friendly policy is passed by the government, it would not allow merchants to accept bitcoin as a payment method. Still a long way to go.

That's the future we want to see, as only massive adoption would make Bitcoin stable and increase its value. As of now, it's still volatile like any other assets in the crypto space. The Lightning Network would help in making fast and cheap transactions, so hopefully, it will be promoted more, and more companies will adopt it.

In Bitcoin, there's no limit in terms of adoption, as it's a decentralized transaction asset. The only hindrance is when the government tries to discourage people from using crypto, fearing it might result in the devaluation of their fiat assets, which are often associated with corruption. So, if we want to see crypto consistently grow in the long run, we should offer consistent support as well, whether big or small, as it's already a significant contribution to reach our goal.

Not all cryptocurrency has a standard like Bitcoin.
Bitcoin is on the top, and it will remain on the top.
The dominance might go down as long as new coins appear.
But it will make Bitcoin stronger.

Because when people from various parties start to realize the uniqueness that Bitcoin and cryptocurrency have, of course Bitcoin and cryptocurrency users will continue to increase because people will want to accept Bitcoin and cryptocurrency in their lives in any way.

And if all of Europe starts accepting Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, whether in companies or other medium-sized businesses, it will make a big impact on the use of Bitcoins and cryptocurrencies that will spread to all corners of Europe and beyond. So that major developments in Bitcoin and cryptocurrency will be increasingly seen every year in various countries in the world.

The beauty would be in that everyone would pay at those stations every time they top up, but as has already been said the headline is kind of clickbait, and just because the payment option is available doesn't mean that people will usually pay with it, although that's something.

No matter how much facilities are implemented to pay with Bitcoin, I don't see that the use is going to be massive. What are people going to do? Spend the Bitcoin and save in fiat?

Bitcoin as a payment mode is really something we have waited for a long time but EV technology is not much popular at least in the major global markets as Asiaian Countries are still struggling to bring this technology into common use. Lightning Network really Opened a whole new dimension of the Bitcoin use case. More likely global adoption seems not far away.

I wouldn't 100% agree with that, maybe about 50%... bitcoin's still the hot stuff of the market and no altcoin has yet ever been close to beating bitcoin when it comes to price so for now I would say that we should focus on bitcoin for now, most of the successful altcoins anyway are in a sense coattail riders. That's a no brainer for businesses to do, bitcoin's been here for about a decade now and it's kind of stupid of them to not include bitcoin in their business model, what I mean by that is when you integrate bitcoin to your business is:
  • It helps diversify your payment options, say for example there's two gas stations out there, one only accepts cash and the other accepts credit cards, who do you think will have more customers flocking in? Of course that would be the gas station that accepts credit cards for payments too. Plus, bitcoin integration in business attracts new customers which means a good thing for your business.
  • Integration also means that you're an inclusive business, not everyone has access to traditional financial systems out there although they do have the Internet which is splendid because they can use bitcoin as a way to pay your business, better PR for your business because you're not just inclusive for the sake of being called inclusive
  • When you integrate bitcoin in your business, you're doing your part in bitcoin/crypto education because believe it or not, a lot of people are still uninformed, not aware and misinformed about bitcoin, so another PR for your business.

Remember though, even if you think that it's all good for businesses to integrate bitcoin, some factors are needed to be considered like:
  • Bitcoin is always volatile and always will be, considering that you are running a business, you really can't risk yourself losing profit because the price of bitcoin suddenly dropped so you're most likely going to convert it quickly to prevent potential losses in profits
  • Bitcoin integration will definitely introduce you to more complexities in your taxation, it's different for each place/country so make sure that you are well-informed about the countries tax laws regarding bitcoin or cryptocurrency.
  • Security is a bit of thing to consider and a good thing for your business but I would put it here since it's business we're talking about, you will need to invest some money for security if you want to make sure your bitcoin's are secured and that the people paying with bitcoin is safe when you're doing transaction with them

It's not about bitcoin anymore but any altcoins that make progress too in the cryptocurrency and blockchain industry.
We can see a deeper penetration once bitcoin became legal to major countries.
~snip~

In which of the major countries in the world is Bitcoin illegal? I know that it is officially banned for trading in China, but I am more surprised that it was ever possible to legally trade and mine Bitcoin in that country, considering how communism works.

Bitcoin is not illegal in the UK, EU, US, Canada or Australia and anyone can trade with it or use it as a means of payment, and I don't see what all those countries should do to make Bitcoin penetrate even deeper, as you say. The problem is not in the laws, but in people who buy BTC as an investment and do not want to use it as a currency, and even if they want to, believe me that many are not capable of making a simple transaction.

It’s indeed a welcomed innovation where we have more recent innovations having to incorporate systems of our times like bitcoin payment for a yet to be very regular EV charging stations. Though, I would like to note that the quote talks about a percent of the over 60,000 existing stations to have incorporated this payment media for service rendered and purchases as such, exaggerating the facts to it makes it a little sketchy @OP.

We can see a deeper penetration once bitcoin became legal to major countries. But for now we cannot enjoy yet its use case so rather waiting that for come then we should look at it on other perspective like use this on investment side since this is more ideal for now rather than wait for those acceptance to come since we might get outdated or miss some opportunity when bitcoin price is so cheap and also we didn't trade for couple of times it fluctuates.
Possibly that would bring about an explosion of the bitcoin used case but that has only hindered so much especially when it has to do with businesses.
One of the sides to it is, its volatile nature. Should bitcoin some day attain some stability, it would promote its usage.

The concept is good enough and the adoption is made easy together with bitcoin lightning network everything incorporated together for the people to use, we cannot actually phantom the exact numbers of users to be precise since they are increasing everyday with adoption all over europe, this alone could be more reasons to make bitcoin users increases more and their business enterprise going well with more interested people ready to use bitcoin for payment.

Not all of them are already installed and operating and will they all legally now and in future. I guess they will be like Bitcoin ATMs that grow fast and latest months. They only accept Bitcoin on Lightning Network and I hope they will accept Bitcoin on mainchain too.

They should have options for their users but they will have to install two different softwares, on chain and Lightning Network.
