It always start with one gpu and ends with crazy farms. Goodluck with your first step , i am mining for 2 years now and still alot to learn , by the way i started with one GPU also Smiley

I'm already planning my next gpu purchase.  When this price dies down I'll grab some.  I still have a ton of stuff to learn but my understanding of crypto and the mining process has increased substantially since I started mining.  Good luck to you as well!

Would recommend grabbing some 560 4gbs, they're still roughly profitable and dropping in price all the time. They're about half the hashrate out the box of a 570, so if you can grab one for half the price you're in a good position.

Good work on getting the 480, I started off with an R9-390 I built with earnings from crawling through faucets Cheesy

Thanks for the recommendation I'll keep my eye out for them.  It's funny because I've always wanted to build a gaming rig and I finally did almost 2 years ago.  I had no intention of mining with it but then I fell down the rabbit hole.  Now I haven't used my gpu for gaming since I started mining.

Yeah ... Who would waste gpu hash power playing video games? Well unless it's good VR porn.  I could set a little aside for that ... Lol.

What in this post made you respond as such?  I wasn't asking a question.  Just making a statement and thanking those here that help noobs.  I've learned a ton from google, but thanks for your kind response anyways.  Have a wonderful day!

Hello everyone.  I'm a crypto noob but I'm loving every second of it.  My intention coming in was to educate myself on the process of mining, and about crypto in general.  I've learned so much in the week that I've been doing it.  I had no idea what a batch file was, and hadn't used a command prompt since the 90's.  I'm not saying I'm up to speed on everything, but I'm building a solid foundation. I'm just using a gaming rig with a single AMD GTX 480 which I built about 1.5 years ago.  Now my GPU is worth more than i paid for it.  What a crazy game this is! Thanks to everyone here who posts things that educate noobs such as myself.  I wish you all happy days and good fortune!
