I'm quite surprised no one has mentioned Kraken yet. You literally only need to type in your name and address to start trading. And you don't need to submit loads of paperwork to withdraw anything.

While I like Kraken, the topic-starter mentioned he is in the US and Kraken currently doesn't offer any USD deposits and while USD/BTC trading (and USD withdrawals) are technically still possible, USD/BTC volume is far too low to be of any use.

Kraken is great for EUR users, but until they finalize their banking and licensing affairs in the US, Americans better look elsewhere.

All of them have pros and cons. There is no best exchange.

For dark net drug dealers -> BTC-e
For speculators -> Bitfinex
For noobs -> Bitstamp

Crypsty and btc-e Grin

Crypsty is backed by a "real company" and it is highly unlikely they will ran away with tons of customer money.
btc-e is super-fast (most of the time the site is fast and easy to use) with good volume, and many opportunities to make short-term trades.

Putting ~60 to 70% into Crypsty and 30 to 40% into btc-e is a reasonably safe plan* and gives you plenty of chances to make money.
*For maximum safety, make 100% profit ASAP and get your original investment off the exchanges.  Smiley
Bit_Happy thanks for your these good information about these both sites now I am going to use them both

The exchanges you have written are all reputable exchanges
But most reputable exchange is MTGox I love to work with this and want to do for long time Wink Cheesy

Had a very sensible API and a Yubikey long before the others. Since Gox is gone I'm completely out.

Also add in Bitfinex. That looks pretty interesting.

So far I have been using Coinbase to buy/sell bitcoin. But I'm looking to get onto an exchange which gives me more options for trading, etc. So I was wondering what everyone's thoughts are on the best exchange? I know of Bitstamp, BTC-e, and CampBX. Also I live in the US and want a reputable exchange.
