Rebranding is like scam people, then rebrand and "hey, we are a good company?"
Always wary of rebranding.

I kinda get the message that what you're suggesting is either some people buy old business and rename it, or just buy the name rights to make their own business. That being said, I do recall some reports saying that old-time scammers manage to get away with more than two scammy companies after launching, shutting down and rebranding their old projects, so it's definitely a "good" strategy for making money in the current crypto space. But it's definitely not the main reason rebranding is needed. I don't recall seeing a legit company doing a rebrand unless their current name has some legal issues or doesn't fit with their new goals.

Several years ago, when IDO was popular, there were many new projects that I participated in and were quite successful. but after a while and IDO began to be unpopular, many projects were abandoned and could not rise again. The rebranding of the project name must also be followed by changes to the Roadmap and this of the project. if it's just a rebrand project will experience the same thing.

Some of the projects that I have invested in have not been able to recover and have been discontinued or abandoned to this day.

A good and thriving project is a project that is able to create new innovations and has a clear roadmap and clear and useful main goals for the cryptocurrency ecosystem.

Rebranding can help in some instances, but definitely not every single time.

If a project died, why try reviving it if you can simply just fork the source code and start over? That way you could also allocate a portion of the funds for development; compared to just literally reviving a project with the funds not in the hands of your team, that could lead to bankruptcy in terms of the development side.

Matic Network to Polygon, Aave too but I think the ticker only? I remember it was LEND before and now Aave.

These rebrands were just for naming purposes though. If I remember correctly the main development team didn’t change.

Wait! What's the purpose of re-branding if the project has a history of scam and fraudulent activities? That's kinda pointless to revive a dead project where they have previously lost the interest of their investors even if you'll say that they a different set of people managing and maintaining a project..

most often rebranding is used to wash out a biography for poorly managed projects. in this way investors calm down a bit so new management get some time for improvements. most often these are just cosmetic changes, new logo, ticker, colours.
the essence is to use the existing structure and community (if any) that the new management pulls out some extra money from there. Investors (new also) certainly here are not protected, but it is only a delay of.

This is somehow effective too in crypto projects, we already saw some quality projects recently rebranded.
But they rebrand not totally, some are the name or ticker. But if they are still sticking with their goal and it still can solve the problem it's good.
I can share some of the projects that were rebranded before, Matic Network to Polygon, Aave too but I think the ticker only? I remember it was LEND before and now Aave.

The best way to prevent investors from losses is to Rebrand Projects - How?

Many projects are abandoned due to lack of team, Sometimes there are chances of scams, such as cover protocol and many other projects were abandoned under one pretext or another, such projects should be rebranded and someone or any industry/team should take the ownership.

Why do we need to rebrand old projects?

Why do we buy old domains? Why do we buy old businesses? Why do we buy closed companies at cheap prices? Why we buy old or popular social media channels? Because they have popularity, people are connected with them, some people are also connected with such abandoned projects, in case of rebranding a project, no work will have to be done from the beginning. It will also save investors who have already invested. This is the only way to stop a lot of scammers to launch new projects. This will increase the chances of opening new and standardized industries in the cryptocurrency industry. People will value cryptocurrency because their confidence will increase. More wealth will be created and the world will go much further. When people improve old projects, they don't have to create new ones. This will also increase the community of such projects and it will be a steady increase
