The big butterfly count is on at the moment in the UK. We are losing insects ar an alarming rate, and this will have a massive impact on the quality of our lives. Country file and other organisations are conducting a national survey to try to determine the quantity and spread of butterflies. Hopefully this will raise awareness of the problems, and perhaps children will try to influence their parents.

You can also help if you stop cutting down trees and hedges, and stripping out flower beds. Stop using insecticides as well.
Butterflies like buddleia as well, so find a corner in your garden and plant an attractive bush.
