in my opinion it is better for satoshi nakamoto to remain a mystery until the end. because if anyone managed to find the true satoshi's identity this would have a bad impact on bitcoin. if satoshi is found then people who hate bitcoin will try to kidnap and dictate this satsohi will make bitcoin be controlled and not be a decentralized coin.

I do not think finding Satoshi's identity will have a bad impact on Bitcoin instead it will have a huge impact positively because Bitcoin will be on the news everywhere.  Thus, it helps a lot in Bitcoin promotion.  And it is not those people who hate Bitcoin that will kidnap satoshi but those who have malicious intent and wanted to earn huge money by stealing from others.  But I agree that it will be better if Satoshi's identity  will remain a mystery.

nowadays Satoshi's identity has turned into a source of income for different people! from these low quality website that keep creating clickbaits to the big scammers like CSW everyone is trying to make some money from it!
the worst part is that there has not been anything new for at least half a decade. everything is the repetition of all that has been rehashed a million times.

Exactly !mate,  I don't understand why people still follow and believe anything others create or post about the identity of Satoshi Nakamoto.  People need to know and understand that knowing the identity of Satoshi Nakamoto is not really necessary of mass adoption of bitcoin and it will not add any value of it.
Right, knowing his identity has no business with anyone of us. Whoever he is, what he has created is helping us in many ways and we should focus on it. Instead of focusing on who Is the creator we should focus on how we can use it in our daily lives, how we can create awareness among people about it and how it can change our lives. As it is the best alternative of national currencies and can be used in many ways, people should focus on this point.

I don't see the big deal in knowing who he/she/they are. It won't make a lick of difference. We will never know and they will never reveal themselves. Just think of all the drama. I think people who waste their time about who is satoshi or being very foolish. It is like the crypto version of the paparazzi.

Its a big deal for the people who looks for him since Wright is claiming its him. But the danger of the real satoshi coming out is what makes it thrilling for them as banks and government tries to expose him. I wouldn't be surprise if Wright is backed by these institution but they are trying to make satoshi come out.  Satoshi will never come out, he isn't attracted to fame. He is sure not the kind of person.

the worst part is that there has not been anything new for at least half a decade. everything is the repetition of all that has been rehashed a million times.

This is actually the best part, because it means that Satoshi has hid himself really well, and I truly hope that he will never be uncovered, unless he himself decides to reveal himself. Privacy is one of the main values of the cypherpunk movement, so true bitcoiners should respect Satoshi's privacy instead of trying to deanonymize him like some people do.
He really did great hiding his identity. He left no trace at all for people to find him. For the whole decade, he was able to hide his true self. Maybe it was also hard for the part of him tht the others are taking advantage of what he created and claiming as Satoshi. Revealing himself could have make an impact to the whole crypto community.

There is also the possibility that the real satoshi is already dead.  Probably he died not long after he ceases posting in this forum.  So fake guys like CW had the courage to claim the identity because probably he knows no one will claim it.  But alas, CW failed to sign an message from those proven Satoshi's address.
This topic has been discussed a lot of times before and the rumours about Satoshi is still circulating yet no one can tell if it is true. I guess we will never gonna see or know the real Satoshi after his last post on this forum. He is nowhere to be found and the rumours keep changing, like he may be dead, Satoshi is a group of people, he's been hiding from the authority, etc.

I think time does not really prove anything, there are many who choose to work at night and maybe Satoshi Nakamoto is such a person.
I personally also often work at night, at night when all is quiet we can work more efficiently.

Satoshi Nakamoto is the creator of the cryptocurrency, Craig Wright now makes a statement that he is Satoshi Nakamoto but I think no one will believe him, he's just trying to use Satoshi Nakamoto to achieve his purpose.
Perhaps the mystery about Satoshi Nakamoto will never be solved, but we are all grateful to him.

I don’t really think that Craig Wright is Satoshi Nakamoto since he has not been able to prove that he’s the one. Maybe he’s still insisting that he’s the real Satoshi Nakamoto because he’s afraid how the community will react if he comes or tomorrow to say that he’s not the one, that will bring him a lot of shame and also ruin his dignity.

So, he’s still going to keep claiming that he’s the one. As for Nick Szabo, he already said he’s not the Satoshi, so let’s count him off, same thing as others that were said to be Satoshi and they denied it. I don’t even know whether Satoshi is still in the land of the living or if he has moved on to the other side Cool

For sure most of us don't believe that he's not the real Satoshi, if there's one person that I suspect to be the real Satoshi and that is Hal Finney, because of his intelligence and his contribution in the world. I think he's the real one, but I might wrong, that's just my opinion, as we really don't know who's the real one.

I feel as though people should just let it go, the creator and founder of Bitcoin most likely wants to be left alone. It is obvious Satoshi foreseen all of the trouble that fame and publicity would have cost and just decided to be quiet and stay pseudonymous. It's Satoshi's choice, perhaps Satoshi also foreseen the future persecution that could ensue if he did decide to go public. Plus Bitcoin could have went left as far as legal concerns go, so maybe Satoshi wanted to avoid any potential trouble?

And this will remain a mystery for ages to come. After the failure of Craig Wright next month to proving he's not a FakeSatoshi, I know another will rise again and that will become a big drama and focal point. Bitcoin is now way bigger than any Satoshi Nakamoto, it has long past a one-man show.

I don't know why people spend time and energy making a whole lot of endless research regarding the identity of Satoshi. No offence to all these researches but these series of voyages have led to absolutely nothing. Why not focus on other stuffs that could rather bring about an improvement in the adoption of Bitcoin.

many false prophets have appeared in this world, there are also many people who claim to be satoshi, then why did he not introduce himself long ago and why should disappear and after bitcoin gained popularity suddenly CSW came by claiming to be satoshi then many people believed in his lie, if indeed he is satoshi why he doesn't continue the current bitcoin work why should there be a bitcoin SV, that sounds funny too BSV is currently gaining popularity because of their pumps and not many people in this forum believe he is satoshi, it looks like satoshi will continue it was a mystery to whoever it was that he would still be okay to see the dispute now

Bitcoin and blockchain technology will continue to flourish and be developed as long as it is there. Satoshi did not limit us from developing it, and I think it will be a mystery for the rest of our lives.

Actually im already tired on reading up "Who is satoshi?" threads yet they have nothing new to deliver.

I don’t think they really went all out to delete cryptocurrency videos because they placed a ban on crypto, nah, if it was that then they would have also targeted all those big brands as well like Cointelegraph and the rest of them.

After they carried out the crypto purge, they later announced that it was a mistake that they target the wrong accounts and apologized to those that were affected. I guess there are particular contents they had in mind to remove from their platform and unfortunately others got on the way.

there are many mysteries in crypto including the reputable and the worse users in the forum and there are also developers who contributes well like the mimblewimble guy. but yep satoshi is obviously the best mystery that i guess we hope not be uncovered. privacy is the best thing this world has. you can never go out enjoying the beach when everybody knew you.
Besides bitcoin is already bigger than its creator. Bitcoin's price and popularity far outshines Satoshi Nakamoto's legacy. This might seem sad but this also allows the real creator to live a quiet life enjoying his own bitcoins if he does have his own. Speculating and finding who Satoshi is just gives scammers and opportunists the chance to take advantage of gullible people in this community.

Are you not done yet with bothering satoshis decision to hide himself after his creation become successful? You people are way too much overthinking about the things of satoshis identity you're too carried away with big names in cryptocurrency claiming they are satoshi. Just leave the man alone and respect his decision.
Obviously many people will get curious on who really Satoshi is and who really the man behind the crypto and development of bitcoin, if you will be the one who gets millionaire through the use of the bitcoin and cryptocurrency, will you not ask yourself who really invent and develop this platform for just to thank him or give some respect to him or them? We are not carried away of what we think who really Satoshi is, all we just want is to thank him for making cryptocurrency boom and good until now. He/she is very smart man in which he already predicted that this situation will come and bitcoin will definitely in need by the people.

Very well said. They are actually looking for nothing coz Satoshi Nakamoto had leave without any clue so how they can find him? And also no one knows who is he or who are they behind that name. There are too many people who showed up to the public saying that they are Satoshi Nakamoto but when the asking for a proof they cant show even one.

If I were Satoshi I would have hidden my identity. Thiefs and gangs on the other hand would probably have no problem murdering Satoshi for a chance at however many bitcoins he has. also, If I were Satoshi I would be more worried about dictators and terrorists governments than any western government. There may be oligarchs within western governments that are against bitcoin, but the majority hopefully are coming round to the idea that it is just another asset to be held or traded. I think he did the right thing to keep himself anonymous.

I think it is best for Mr. Satoshi Nakamoto to hide from fame and interests of people. There are many people who ask and are curious about him - some people who are thankful to him and maybe those who want to destroy him and bitcoin. We can't stop ourselves from thinking that some people really want to know Mr. Nakamoto because they want to know how he programmed and made bitcoin in order for them to know how to destroy it. Well, who knows. But I think hiding and not revealing himself to people is the best way he can/should do.

The true identity of Satoshi does matter here in cryptocurrency especially he's the creator of bitcoin. But right now, looking for the real Satoshi doesn't have to be a thing. If he wants to reveal his real identity, he will do that. But forcing to look for the real one isn't appropriate. Let's respect what he wants. If he wants to remain anonymous, let him be. It's a big mystery that we should respect.
Satoshi's identity is not a problem for me and I do not have any concerns about him/her. There is nothing will change if he/she reveal his identity. There are now a lot of self proclaimed satoshi but I keep ignoring them. I just a mere trader who are always focusing on chart. The mystery of the identity is not my focus so I really do not know why it is a big deal for the other people.

It’s October 2008, and anonymous figure Satoshi Nakamoto has just released his/her/their whitepaper outlining an incredible new cash and payment system, Bitcoin. 11 years on, the biggest crypto mystery still revolves around Satoshi’s identity. Obviously they want to stay anonymous for a variety of reasons, but speculation will not end until Satoshi reveals themselves (if they ever do).

Who is Satoshi Nakamoto?
Satoshi Nakamoto is the pseudonym used by the anonymous Bitcoin creator, who released the Bitcoin whitepaper all the way back in October 2008. Many people have stepped forward claiming to be Satoshi, although so far none of them have been the real deal. Nick Szabo and Craig Wright, are among those who have been doxed as potential Bitcoin creators. Nick Szabo has explicitly denied any involvement, while Craig Wright continues to claim that he is the real Satoshi.

Satoshi Nakamoto stepped down from their role in the development of Bitcoin in December 2010, although they still remain the faceless figurehead for the coin, as well as the wider cryptocurrency community. Afterall, without Satoshi we would never have the  $201 billion industry that is thriving today.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bze53qwHS8o

What we know so far
There has been endless speculation about the true identity of Satoshi Nakamoto, basically since the founding of Bitcoin. While Nick Szabo and Craig Wright seem to be among the more popular options, investigations were conducted on the matter by The New Yorker and and Fast Company. The New Yorker reported that they had discovered at least two potential candidates: Michael Clear, a Trinity College graduate student, and Vili Lehdonvirta, a Finnish economic sociologist at the Oxford Internet Institute. Clear denied any involvement in the creation of Bitcoin, saying:

“I thought I might feature in one paragraph as a possible candidate who was quickly eliminated,” he says, bemused by the whole thing. He has spent the week since the article was published denying he is Satoshi, writing on his website: “Although I am flattered that Josh had reason to think I could be Satoshi, I am certainly the wrong person . . . It seems that even limited searches yield candidates who fit the profile far better than I think I do.”

Fast Company’s investigation highlighted circumstantial evidence that linked an encryption patent application for the domain name bitcoin.org to Neal King, Vladimir Oksman, and Charles Bry. The patent application was filed on 15 August 2008, and the domain name was registered just 72 hours later. The application contained technologies similar to Bitcoin, and textual analysis discovered the phrase “...computationally impractical to reverse” in both the patent and the Bitcoin whitepaper. All three have vehemently denied being Satoshi Nakamoto.

Timing
Stefan Thomas, a Swiss coder and Bitcoin community member, mapped out the time stamps for each of Satoshi’s 500+ Bitcoin forum posts. The resulting graph showed a steep decline in activity between the hours of 5am and 11am Greenwich Mean Time. The pattern remained the same over the weekend, indicating that Satoshi would likely be asleep at this time. The hours of 5am to 11am GMT are 12am to 6am Eastern Standard Time. So, according to these charts, Satoshi would be living in the United States.

However, other clues also point to Satoshi being British, or at least living in the UK (like Craig Wright). The headline coded into the Bitcoin genesis block came from The Times, a UK newspaper, and many of Satoshi’s comments on the Bitcoin source code includes British English spellings, like “optimise” and “colour”.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WOUZxG1JcGI

So, the biggest crypto mystery still revolves around Satoshi’s identity, and it’s unlikely that’ll change anytime soon. Satoshi would want to keep their identity secret for an endless number of reasons, and that’s their prerogative.

With that being said, we have Satoshi to thank for the booming crypto asset industry that we see today. You can trade Bitcoin, as well as other cryptoassets, on hundreds of different platforms. From exchanges, to social trading platforms like eToro, crypto is more accessible than ever.

Hiding Satoshi
This biggest crypto mystery still revolves around Satoshi’s identity, and that’s okay. Humans are nosey - it’s not a bad thing, but it’s definitely inherent in our natures. We’re always looking to solve the mystery, but sometimes it shouldn’t be solved. In the case of Satoshi’s true identity, we’ll probably never get the facts completely straight. The biggest mystery in crypto involves the person (or group) who started it all, and that somehow just feels so right.

https://itsblockchain.com/the-biggest-crypto-mystery-still-revolves-around-satoshis-identity/

for me halfinney is the real satoshi nakamoto, just my feeling, every little sathosi we earned or we buying from market having halfinney soul, and we can feel it
If it's just all about speculating and guessing who could be the real satoshi, I'm also placing my hat to Hal. Although, he had already denied to be satoshi but there's a high probability that it's him because he took the first transaction with satoshi.

If Satoshi wanted to explain himself, he would have done it by now. But I don't think you will. Maybe at a very late date, maybe a letter will come out after he dies. I think this mystery is good. It's becoming more attractive.

Well I hope that letter won't reveal his keys to the wallet.

It would be best for him to just keep himself even after he died because the people will have more to investigate when people finds out who he is and his relatives like brothers or sisters. The media won't let them sleep at night if he left a letter. This letter or revealing himself won't help.

“Mining should not be too profitable (because nothing should be too profitable, the world doesn’t leave free money lying around). Therefore the price of Bitcoins can’t rise too much above the cost of mining (counting equipment depreciation among the costs of course).”

“Since we’re all rich with bitcoins, or we will be once they’re worth a million dollars like everyone expects, we ought to put some of this unearned wealth to good use.”

for me halfinney is the real satoshi nakamoto, just my feeling, every little sathosi we earned or we buying from market having halfinney soul, and we can feel it

nowadays Satoshi's identity has turned into a source of income for different people! from these low quality website that keep creating clickbaits to the big scammers like CSW everyone is trying to make some money from it!
the worst part is that there has not been anything new for at least half a decade. everything is the repetition of all that has been rehashed a million times.
And there had been plenty of opportunistic people taking advantage of what has been established by Satoshi himself. I am no longer surprised nowadays that there are so many economic competitions regarding what's in for the time being about sources or ways of income with Bitcoin. Lots are being fooled why others laugh and earned just like when the first establishment of any other currencies and paper figures. Tsk tsk. People nowadays though they'll do anything just to earn.
