It's a pity that the event was not held successfully. I think it is a great way to promote the bitcoin and give an education about it.

The event was canceled due to a failure of the Dominican hosts to provide the support that was promised to The Bit Drop. The organization has not totally given up hope on its project yet, though, and is working to come up with a solution that will allow them to resume the project at a later date.


Hopefully they'll get all the organisational issues sorted and will make the drop at later date.
